Enjoying the hell out of this. 40mins in.

Cant believe we used to get this every week. Fuckers should have thrown up a $10 annual subscription and saved their asses :(

I would have paid that if it meant still getting GFW Radio every week.

God damn, I forgot how much I missed this! :D

You guys are too kind. What Jeff said about the audience QA. Keep in mind that we only scheduled 10 minutes for that and were blessed with another hour. Also, the panel was ultimately for PAX attendees and specifically those who were willing to wait in line. Giving them the mic was the least we could do.

why did they break up?

Because they mostly disagree about Weng Weng's cloaca: Some say that he partially uses it for cooling, which is what birds do, and others would argue that he uses it for respiration, which is what some deep-diving turtles do.

this was a great show, i hope they do it again next year.
btw, thanks to the dude who ripped the audio and posted it.

Man was it fantastic to listen to/watch this. I wish I could've been at PAX. For the love of god, please tell me there will be a Brodeo panel at PAX East Coast.

Or do I have to drive to Quincy and dress myself in scratch-off tickets?

I'm sad that I wasn't able to be there in person but happy it happened.

Thanks OmniAvenger for setting all this up. This made my day, smiling and laughing the whole way through. As corny as it sounds I don't have in friends that play games and GFW always filled the niche. Thanks Jeff, Ryan, Shawn, Sean, Robert, and Anthony (wish you were up on the panel) for doing this.

I joined neogaf because of the GFW breakup and I got to watch from the sidelines everything unfold. It's nice that I can actually comment. Thanks again.

And yet not one person asked you guys what video game character you'd marry. Such a waste. :lol

anyone gonna tell me why the show ended?
anyone??

First, their magazine closed, resulting in the slow departure of a majority of the crew to other jobs. I think it was September last year when Jeff and Shawn left for the development side that GFW Radio ended.

The podcast lived on under the name LAN Party at 1up for another few months, until the beginning of this year when 1up was sold to UGO and massive restructuring happened and most of the podcasts got shut down.

Ryan went on to do The Geekbox, Robert does A Life Well Wasted and Jeff, Shawn and Robert do Out of the Game, and here we are today.

So, serious question here... do those kids with the shitty nappies really get off on that? It turns em on sexually?

WTF?

It wouldn't suprise me. I mean, you can probably find at least one person on the internet who gets off on stuff you wouldn't expect.

But seriously, when Robert was reading, I lost it at padded and messy. So funny.

Dear fucking cthulhu, Jazz English, your cafeteria dreamland nerdgasm Pinky and the Brain "manipulating not one but THREE! religions at school to get all the cute girls to talk to me" scheme of permanent virginity would've nearly ruined the event if not for the perfect reaction from the panel.

It's amazing that so few people are willing to try it. Was it even previewed/reviewed anywhere?

I think Chris Remo covered it. Thats pretty much it.

That dude was like all the people Shawn makes fun of wrapped in one 120 pound crazy Jazz English ball. I resisted skipping that while watching, and thankfully the guys handled it well.

It did get reviewed quite a bit but most of them just tried to compare it to L4D for no good reason, and harped on the fact that it "looks like a mod." I believe some of them even docked points for the lame singleplayer mode, meaning that it probably would have scored better if it had less content. :lol

EDIT: I just bumped the thread for it with info about the August patch that added the AK-47, katana, and KF_Foundry map.

Well if this weren't the case, terrible things like scat porn wouldn't exist. There's some quantum physics version of sexual fetishes that was coined by a webcomic.

Loved the panel guys, thanks to anyone involved in getting it together and also getting it online for viewing and listening.

As for killing floor, does it have an active user base? easy to get in to games? Maybe I should talk my gaming friends into buying it with me. However I just talked some of them in to getting Champions Online...we played it for a couple of hours and haven't touched it since.

900 right now, probably a lot more at peak hours.

Watched the two parts and it's really good, but as usual like with the 1up Yours reunions, the questions segment makes me cringe even from thousands of miles away.

Killing Floor has been very successful and has many many players on many servers.

The screens do look kinda shitty, but if it's a decent game I'm willing to try it out since it's pretty cheap. The problem for me is that I prefer to play co-op games with friends, which is why I haven't tried Killing Floor out -- none of the people I know play PC-games.

If you look in the background there's a girl face-palming while listening to him babble on with his story. Sooo funny. :D

I had fun getting all my classes up to level 2, but then I realized it would take me forever to get any class up to level 3 and stopped playing. Definitely was worth my $15, though.

God dammit, I was bored so I went ahead and bought the game. Oh well, I guess I'm gonna have to try and understand either some german dudes broken english or cockney online tonight then.

Is it a must to have to have friends to play killing floor with? I kinda wanna join a game and play like I do in L4D.

How about I buy it as well and we play when I get off work? I have nothing to do all weekend

It was amazing to see the crowd reaction while he was ranting. People went from amusement to confusion to empathetic pain in a few seconds.

Also, I'm pretty sure Jazz asked a question at both the 1up Yours and CO-OP panels. Not sure if I might be misremembering that, but now I want to go back and check.

Who is Jazz English?

Edit: Huh, looks like some kid that wants to be in the games press, and he probably will in a few years. Next time I decide to do anything, I'm gonna skip the whole 'getting a college degree' part and just act like a retard to get noticed.

He did ask a question a those panels. He was at a lot of panels I was at actually. 15 year old kid so I wouldn't follow in his footsteps unless you're even younger than that!

Yeah, maybe so, it's just that I'm also a dude with broken english on the other side of the atlantic so it's getting late over here :lol

It'd be cool if we could get a few GAF-games going though.

Well if your up tomorrow I'll play for sure. I don't mind the broken english, I have a very ghetto mike that probably won't work anyways.

And yes it would be rad to get some Gaf games going.

This.

I'll admit to skipping it when I watched the show so the wajah wouldnt ruin the experience. I went back to it today and I'm very glad I did so.

Played a few games, and it seems decent apart from the lack of teamwork (no one used a mic in the games I played).

On easy or normal you can get away with doing your own thing (depending on the map) and completion % will be high, but on hard teamwork is absolutely required and you'll have to stick together, mics or not. So get acclimated with the maps and level up your character of choice some and hit up hard for the real experience.

Also you may want to turn off the full screen motion blur on hit setting. It's a little too disorienting, and in my case my sensitive eyes couldn't handle it anyway.

Alright, hopefully I'll find a game with people that uses mics, mainly so they can tell me what I'm supposed to do and when. How about welding doors -- when are you supposed to do that? I mean, to me it seems like there are a lot of doors everywhere.

I think Shawn is related to Bill and he won't admit it.
