God damn, I didn't January was going to be good for other consoles, but I didn't think it would be THAT bad.

Well some people use it to fuel their console war needs, but if you ignore those posts, you can see some very insightful posts.

I didn't think XBO demand would drop so precipitously and I really thought Sony would have a harder time getting stock into the U.S.

Truthfully, I thought Microsoft would carry over plenty of upgraders to keep their figures competitive with Sony for at least a month or two more. But, I should perhaps have listened to a friend who was fully bought into the Xbox 360 world last generation and told me, after hearing about the options for next generation, "Well, Microsoft isn't giving me any good reasons to stick with them when I switch generations. Might as well try out the Sony side."

Anecdotal, yes, but looking back these kinds of things almost look prophetic. We'll see. Sony has to show me that they'll last through March. If that happens, well, it's going to get very, very interesting.

...Pachter wrong again. I don't understand. Like surely half of GAF could do his job.

They know less than 70 other gaffers.

Congrat' to the winner and, all things considered, good result for me and a way better start than last year where I missed the first NPD months.

As they specify in their own reports, use their numbers as one data point in a sea of information. Pachter has done a lot better in the predictions than he did last year and this month, but, yes, he's fallible just like the rest of us. :)

I'm ok with my results. I should have stuck with my gut about the 3DS. It's been the bane of my predictions forever lol. I would have been in the top 5 with my original 3DS prediction =(

Well... I was right about the PS4 selling 150K more than the Xbox One (haha).

Know January is a slow month. No big name games; wasn't expecting such a huge drop for pretty much every dedicated game device though.

PS4's month to month drop I guess was normal... Still big though. Almost 1/4 of last month.

Well, I should do better for Feburary.

I'm surprised people tend to make new topics whenever Pachter gives out his predictions.

He's really just as ignorant as the rest of us...and he's been that way for quite a while.

Never even considered adding something else for points. Considered dropping 360 down to units-only, but don't like changing the setup once the year has started. Oh, well. We'll see how it goes. If we only have PS4/XB1/3DS for next year, that's fine. :)
