I am just curious. I know the gap is currently about 700k between the systems, what did the gap look like going into June NPD last year?

What's your opinion of SuperData?
They seem to do a good job when it comes to creating a view of the digital landscape worldwide and they work with a number of organisations in the industry to help determine their results. They claim to have POS data as well.
From what I've seen they're good at providing a general overview but I'm not sure how accurate they are for each individual title/publisher.
Chartz of the Digital space.
I can claim to have climbed Mt. Everest and have a Ferrari.
Although I wouldn't say it's as bad as Chartz.
It was about 600k
Seriously though. At the title level, it is as bad if not worse.
Makes me wonder why all the pubdentry seem to favor MS's approach then when the last 12 months have shown that focusing just on holidays is not going to close the gap. If anything they are losing more and more ground.
Generally I would say comparative sales are not important so long as each company is hitting their forecasts. However, MS relied on being tops in the territory last gen to leverage externally developed exclusives, and was able to do that early this gen as well. Take that away and you have a far less enticing product.
Weren't the results supposed to be posted by now? What am I missing?
Data is being released to clients now.
My predictions are as follows-
[PS4] 269k
[One] 197k
Well I'm bias against Chartz so nothing is worse then them in my eyes haha.
Especially since they messed up the Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires sales numbers by claiming the game had sold 15,000 in the USA BEFORE THE GAME EVEN CAME OUT!
You don't try and fool a musou fan like me haha.
Both the PS4 and Xbox One are tracking higher than their predecessors and will want to continue that + be the cumulative sales leader. Hence why MS are fighting for it.
Do you consider yourself Lenny or George?...but you know that whole mice and men thing.
This would be terrible for both. 5 week month, Batman release, new 1TB sku for XB1 along with a few deals. Ugh.
I expect higher than that.
That was what both of them did last year

iirc Aqua had similar thoughts on Superdata also.
Do you consider yourself Lenny or George?
Doctor fishI have no idea who the alts are referring to, but it looks like I chose poorly (I've used Dr Bass for years though, it's my Xbox Handle and my license plate has a variation of this).
No real guesses on my part for this month in terms of numbers but I do expect PS4 to "win".
We should know by now, correct?
Weren't the results supposed to be posted by now? What am I missing?
Yup, her thoughts were pretty much in line with mine and Cosmic's.
It's a bunch of estimates at an individual title level (as they don't get data from the big 3 in regards to digital downloads), but for the overall digital market it uses a lot of publicly available data and other research to be quite accurate.
Well no one wants to be a Lenny, but the thing is if you are a Lenny you will never know it until you finally squeeze your hand tight. So I just plan on staring at my open hand for this evening.
A clock apparentlyWeren't the results supposed to be posted by now? What am I missing?
A clock apparently
When you have a 3D printer.Chartz has competition?
Does SuperData track digital hardware sales?
That was what both of them did last year
As long as juniors don't post BS opinions as fact, they should be fine. You really shouldn't be afraid to post. It creates an unhealthy community and atmosphere. I can be confrontational as fuck honestly if I believe I'm right. Its all about how you do it. Obviously as a Junior be smart about it but if you have an opinion on numbers or something about performance you want to share do it. Don't let other posters intimidate you.

Disagreement is okay, making stuff up is not.
Here's a fun last minute prediction game.
Batman Arkham Knight: Higher or lower opening number than Arkham City? Go!
Silly me. I need to keep up on sales data.
Seems you and Zhuge have them in your back pocket.

I always have my spreadsheet out at this time just incase we get some early PR, especially now that MS are giving % increases.

Someone should post whatever they want. If it gets out of hand then theu sh9uld get banned. If they feel intimidated what does that say about "Sales GAF"
Oh no, I am not actually afraid to post. I am not really tied to one system or the other. I am interested in sales data because of my previous career. The empty hand comment was just me trying to find a clever way to link to the Lenny joke.

While were waiting for the full NPD report, we have the first news about last months leaders. Sony has announced that it had the lead for both console sales and hardware in June.
The publisher cites popularity of the Batman: Arkham Knight console bundle as a major driving force. PS4 continues to lead console sales in the U.S. and globally and we would like to thank gamers worldwide for their continued dedication to the PlayStation platform, a representative told us via email.
Well have more on the June United States retail report from NPD as its available.
Lower. Bundles will hide a lot of sales.
Do we count all platforms combined? City was ps360 too, knight is current gen only, right?
Big month overall. We won't have as many "consoles are doomed" threads this month.
