Not enough information and 3rd person only, i don't know what to expect but i'm not hyped for Arkane's new game at all, if it included 1st person as well i might be, need to see more.

It is a Marvel license, it all depends on the agreement with them and if that includes release on other platforms....

That said, it would be curious to see MS accept that obligation when the same type with Indiana Jones was corrected and Marvel allows Sony the exclusivity of several even more powerful licenses......

Despite all this, development seems to be in its infancy.
Indiana Jones has never been at lower value than it is now. I doubt it took all that much to get exclusive. Marvel still has value and I doubt Marvel wouldn’t want their IP on the larger install base. In Sonys case, they own the movie rights to Spider-Man and therefore have significant leverage to make it exclusive.

Majority of people don't know the distinction between Arkane Austin and Lyon.
the actual majority of people don't know the studios of who makes the games, it's just sony nintendo xbox, and if a game isn't on another platform they may ask "why?" and get answered "because sony/nintendo/xbox made it."

???

Indiana Jones license is light years away in value vs Blade, which is a third-class Marvel license in comparison.

It is clear that Disney/Marvel has the last word, but the fact is that MS was able to agree to the exclusivity of IJ with Disney. Blade could be even simpler. Because, at the end of the day, PC+XBOX has a more than enough installed base, even larger than that of PS5.

Dude, go look at the fucking box office for the last Indiana Jones film. It flopped and flopped hard. IJ has long passed. Its value has never been lower. A good IJ game can change that. Blade by itself doesn’t have much value, but the Marvel brand when the content is good still sells well as Spider-Man 2 and No Way Home proved. Marvel, however, is no longer bulletproof and audiences are no longer seeing just anything they put out.

Nobody truly knows if Blade is exclusive, but Sony has far greater negotiating power to secure an exclusive than Xbox does as Spider-Man and Wolverine prove.

You guys notice how all Xbox and Game Pass branding is missing? And that this is the only new game missing platforms?

Marvel and Bethesda are listed as the publisher. Not XGS.

"In March 2021, Microsoft acquired Bethesda's parent company ZeniMax Media, maintaining that the company will continue to operate as a separate business.[1] While part of the larger Microsoft Gaming division, Bethesda Softworks retains its function as the publisher of games developed by the different studios under ZeniMax Media."

This is 100% multiplat, otherwise they would’ve shown a logo, or MS is simply stupid, could be that too.

Could also be so far out in the future that everything is just about launchers on any device and cloud computing.

It is exclusive

That’s not an official source. That’s Jen Corden pulling it out of his ass.

I expect it will be exclusive, but I like others am completely baffled as to why the Xbox branding is missing. I cannot fathom why they would leave that out at a time when they are desperate to get people into their ecosystem.

Colteastwood is a worthless sack of shit. He is a shill and a fanboy. He has no inside source and straight up makes shit up.
Don’t believe me? Look at what he predicted before the show:

Yeah, didn’t happen at all. Didn’t come close.

These guys still thinking Microsoft some benevolent entity even after the FCC leaks. They don't give a shit about putting their games on Playstation nor do they need the money. They even got Hines ass out of there with him crying about Bethesda games not being on Playstation.

Nothing has been confirmed as of yet, but it's safest to assume any Microsoft first-party single-player game is exclusive to Xbox and PC unless stated otherwise.

I think this is part of the reason the platforms weren’t announced. Maybe Marvel has negotiated to make it multiplatform or something
Doubtful. No way Xbox gives up another Marvel IP to Sony. They already have Wolverine and Spiderman. Plus, Arkane Lyon is 1st party.

The fact that IJ last movie did not live up to the expectations set does not imply the decline of the license. StarWars is worse and that doesn't mean the license is now worth less. Furthermore, MS purchase of the IJ exclusivity occurred before the release of the film for which Disney had high expectations... That is, the exclusivity was signed when the hype for IJ latest film was through the roof.

On the other hand...Marvel decides, but for a license like Blade the interesting thing for them is that someone "rescues" it and generates value again. It is MS who provides the money and resources and without them Marvel only has a name. If MS comes along and offers to fully finance a AAA Blade game.....of course Marvel would hardly say no. And no, no matter how much you think that PlayStation is the center of everything, it is not. The user base of PC alone is already larger than that of PS5. XSeries+PC day one is more than enough basis for that to be a worrying issue for Marvel/Disney.

The first concern for Marvel is if a Blade game is made with the greatest resources and by a recognized Studio and has the potential to be a critical and sales success.... and MS/Bethesda offers that.

Prey was Austin. Lyon is Dishonored and Deathloop.
If only they would have given us a Prey 2. Chased that Boderlands money and shot themselves in the foot. The whole studio are single player narrative games specialists. This experimenting with co-op and roguelikes is hurting them.

Not a chance. Sorry. Bethesda is their own publisher. Still Xbox First party but they also operate independently from XGS.

What do you mean there is “no way” ? How does that work? Microsoft has no leverage. Marvel has all the power to say you (Arkane) can develop it and put it on all platforms or we will ship it to other developers.

I’m not saying it’s not exclusive, I actually believe it is, but it 100% makes no sense for Xbox branding to be completely absent from official marketing. Not one of you apologists has been able to offer a valid reason.

...................Okay, bro. So I guess Wolverine has a chance of coming to Xbox, too?

The game is years away from coming out. I wouldn't draw any conclusions even though MS has yet to respond to the FTC's insinuations about Bethesda games that it does or does not make exclusive to Xbox.

It is clear to me that MS does not want to give the FTC any oxygen that it can use as an argument.

Nope. That is exclusive. Sony has a far bigger player base on PS5, owns the movie rights to Spider-Man which gives Sony far more leverage to negotiate an exclusive than Microsoft will ever have, unless Microsoft buys Disney which they could actually afford to do.

Microsoft doesn’t want to miss out on that Spider Man type success

Honestly a nice surprise. Could be a case similar to Insomniac which struggled to make their own IP but absolutely killed it with a big super hero IP

But it’s also one of those games that seems like it would struggle being Xbox exclusive, which really limits the audience as most super hero fans are probably hugely aligned with PlayStation

Third person!
Gutted..

I agree. I'm not happy about this. First person Dishonored-style would've been the way to go imo. They could have had third-person cutscenes and dialogue scenes if they wanted to display the character (like how Deus Ex does it).

I mean, Marvel may have not been ok with it, it is a licensed game after all.

They are still game developers, so doing first person in the past doesn't mean they can't do 3rd person now or something. Look at Guerilla Games, they did the Killzone series and Horizon is literally their best selling and most awarded...anything.

I semi worry, but we'll have to see more. For Marvel to give them the contract, they must really trust what the team can do.

So...we'll see.

Yeah, that's a good point about Marvel wanting the character to be on screen.

I won't judge till I see the game.

But I still feel like blade should be going to team ninja or platinum. Arkane never screamed super hero studio to me. But I'm happy to be proven wrong obviously

I'm disappointed with the trailer.

For me, Blade is about high energy in your face violence and killing raving vampires in a slaughterhouse with a ninja sword.

I hope they can catch that level of crazyness in their game.
