DS sales are just crazy. PSP really isn't doing that bad at all, it's just that DS is on another planet to everything else out there. 1 week Japan DS sales are eclipsing either of the two's monthly perfomance in the NA. Not to mention that DS is picking up in NA and EU. Nintendo can't have possibly envisaged this scenario when they announced the DS.

8 out of 10 are Nintendo games.

If only it was games like mario kart and castlevania pulling a braintraining.
Uhhh, Mario Kart has been consistently hanging in just under the Top 10, crossed 1 million in sales a little while ago... that game has had equal staying power, but just on a slightly smaller scale.

Yeah Nintendo needs to put the GBA out to pasture here in North America.

Get the DS down to $99.99 US this fall, that's the only way it will begin to replace the GBA here ... gawd knows you're selling enough of them in Japan.

220K DSL in a week?

get your fucking pre-orders in today in the US boys... I have a feeling that thanks to Japan and NSMB, a pre-order is the only way you'll see an NA DSL for months.

nintendo hasn't needed to. unlike Japan the system still sold after the DS came out, and it makes a ton of money for them. though I agree completely, and think we'll see that starting with the DSL. I still am willing to be that nintendo will drop the DS down to $99. GBA pricing will stay the same but with the DS down to $99 the bargain buyers will finally switch over to that instead of the GBA.

Great news for Nintendo. Mother 3 and Rangers' holding on okay, ACWW/BT/BT2/ET make a come back, Tetris DS had a great launch.

:lol Anyone notice that Yangus is showing legs?

it's interesting seeing dq yangus is going to end up around 300-400k, whereas the pokémon md game is ~1.5 million.

i really expected dq md to sell way more.

oh shit! @ DS hardware and software sales

The funny thing is that every now and then a PS2 game jumps to the top of the chart for a week, and then it leaves the top 10 one or two weeks later...while Brain Training and Animal Crossing continue to sell 50k+ every week. It's amazing to see that Nintendo have got three 2m+ selling games in the weekly top10, and soon English Training will break 1m.

anyone got numbers for this week's total software sales for DS vs the rest?

Holy crap, crazy stuff. It has been said a billion times, but I wonder when sales for DS(L) will slow down to more or less normal levels...

When demand is satisfied, which won't be too soon, since they're about to whack the hornets nest yet again with NSMB...

Its hard to imagine that right now.

Demand is incredible in Japan, and because of this it shouldn't settle down for a while. To add to this are some big names, including New SMB in the next week, with FFIII soon after..

Then as things start to settle (if they ever do), Zelda will storm the charts.

Along comes Brain Training 3...

Then comes Diamond and Pearl, possibly just in time for Christmas.

PSP am suicide :(

This game sold 16k according to Famitsu and Pro Soccer Club o Tsukurou! Euro Championship sold around 6k without appearing in the MC top 50. Total sales in the top 100 were 1,691,495. All we need now is some interpolation. :)

So basically, Nintendo is selling more than a million DS a month in Japan now. This is a new standard.

I think CoroCoro Magazine is supposed to reveal Pokemon Diamond and Pearl this month, at least its release date. Screenshots and game info unconfirmed, though.

You haven't posted your monthly charts yet have you? Search feature is down, couldn't see anything in the first load of pages.

Any news on D+P will start the hype train.

Well just imagine when NSMB hits!!

And Starfox, Yoshi's Island 2, Kirby, Magical Vacation, Diddy Kong Racing...

Incidently, DS going from 8,000 to 43,000 is fantastic. :lol at the people last week "obviously demand has dried up for the old model".

Fat DS is selling at the same levels as a year ago.
