Seems to be a mix of both, though I suspect a great deal are just super afraid to talk about it either way/dropping him silently. That's one thing that's very hard to measure over social media. I suspect most of the "marriage of convenience" types will simply do their best to never speak his name again.

Milo was among those who broke from Spencer after he went full Nazi in DC. The alt-right had an identity crisis as a result of that, with people like Milo trying to push something called the "new right" and people playing up "civic nationalism" as a cover for their white nationalist ideas.

Oh, I'm not denying myself the pleasure of seeing him crash and burn.
It's been quite a ride to see him become such a major public figure in a short amount of time, only to crash and burn so fast when people were starting to seriously get concerned he could stay in the public light.
That being said, this is most likely going to be a net positive for parts of the alt-right movement because of the opportunities it can grant them.

My concern is two fold:
One, that there will be a concerted effort to push the gay=pedophile meme, and whether the public will actually buy into it hook, line, and sinker, or if common sense will prevail in this current age of alternative facts that we're living in.
The other: that some on the left -- lgbt even -- will actually extend an olive branch to this jerk, or be prompted by jackasses like Andrew Sullivan, to do so in order to prove that progressives are better than the alt right.

Do you think this whole mess that he got himself into stemmed from him trying to tangentily tie his own fucked up shit with the clergy sex abuse scandals? Or to reiterate, was he trying to do that in order to minimize the culpability of pedophile priests, with the idea that the victims were fabricating their claims? And perhaps he may have felt that he would be taking one for the team, so to speak? Because at the time he said this, was he even thinking of the potential ramifications of trying to normalize the blurring of the age of consent? Or was he so wrapped up into himself to realize that this could potentially blow up in his face?
The thing that is going to suck about this is it is just going to be used by the Alt-right to move further towards white nationalism and further the "gays are sexual deviants" argument that the right has leaned on for my entire life.

I really hope you're right. Based on the Trump supporters I know (hardcore evangelical Christians), there could be some serious calls of "even the 'good' ones cannot be redeemed, this is what we've been trying to tell you."
There are enough of them to be concerned about. Considering the way this administration is pandering to that exact demographic, I don't trust them not to run with this and jam new policy through.
