Eh, I'm not quite sure if I'm happy with how this turned out. But I just spent roughly 4-6 hours on this. I'm sure it looks quite amature (and uncreative) but a) I liked the wallpaper idea of black/blue for the Japan desktop wallpapers and b) I liked the character portraits in Black/Blue. Unfortunately this posed problems in moving the wallpapers over because the color portraits with them were close.
I also couldn't fit one character into the space provided without it looking awkward (there isn't an odd number of characters, sadly). So one had to be dropped and since he was too close to his "shadow" part, I had to drop the Potemkin clone.
*sigh* Looking at the artwork that the 4share account had was pretty neat, but not a lot of it is useful for fronts. Esp. given that most of it isn't transparent (I'm too scared to try to cleanup the "Blazblue" logo more, so you can see the artifacts/white spots that are still there without messing with it. Next time Arc, please provide transparent logos/character art if you can. It makes working with them in photoshop much eaiser). The yin-yang and a couple other symbols cover up the character portraits that were sticking out and I couldn't blur/color in without it looking too bad (they were huge!)/looked manipulated. I like how the color channel function of CS 1 made them go from black/white to black/blue. I think I matched the general blue tone of the wallpapers and I think I did an okay job playing it by ear, but I'm not too sure it's a "winner material" with those in it.
Lastly, the bottom I like, it covers the "Blazblue" logos that the wallpapers had and gives color portraits of the characters with a background that doesn't look tacky/fits in. I'm not too sure if the PEGI/ESRB/whatever rating logo will fit there without killing the one character on the left/right though. *sigh*
I kinda wish we had the PEGI/ESRB/Playstation/Playstation Network/X-box 360/X-box Live logos/headers so I could've fit them in and tried to mess around with the space provided. I'm not sure if even if those
were provided that the size I used would've let them fit without manipulation to look stretched/fitted in. :|
Oh, well, at least I tried. (I do have the .psd and would love to clean up the Blazblue logo if you guys have a transparent one, Arc. I'm not to sure how well that'd fit into the "Blue" style I have going on (probably would blend in too much), but providing it and messing around with the box some more would be nice.
I'd love to do the back artwork just to mess around (since the 4share account has photos in-game, so that'd make some killer back-box work). But after spending hours on the front I'm kinda drained and scared to show it to GAF (since I know GAF has done better artwork before).
Oh well, wordy and I'm close to hitting the character limit so I'm shutting up now and providing a link since the image is HUGE.
