New Hitman: Absolution trailer [By Visual Works (Final Fantasy CG), out now]

Some people have argued that the entire game is filtered through 47's own perception of the world. This is why everyone in Blood Money seems so grotesque and offensive, because to 47 they are. If true it would be a subtle touch that seems absolutely lost on the people reponsible for this trailer.
If this "subtle" touch has not been known by now to be a narrative choice or not, it's most likely speculative bullshit.

edit: I mean it would be cool if it was, but I think it was more along the lines of it being a game from that weird 2006 era.

double edit: Blood Money is so fondly looked at because it really is a previous generation game that was released on modern consoles. Play your old PS2/XBox games, and weep for our what games have now become!

Nice movie. Hopefully nothing like the game outside some "boss" encounter.

But is it me or did the visual quality drop sharply just when the chicks took off their nun clothes?

Up until that I was debating if it's edited live action in some parts.

It could be either really, I find it kind of plausible that it was a narrative choice as it would have been a theme the devs carried over from Contracts. It doesn't really make much sense though, as the events in Blood Money aren't overtly dreams like they were in Contracts, but the world is so consistent that I prefer to blelieve it was intentional.

Best looking latex I've ever seen in a game. Like the way there's a fold where her shoulder length gloves bunch up on her bicep under (over?) her catsuit. Also when you see them from behind you can see that, on the ones with catsuits, the zip goes from the front to the small of the back. Excellent attention to detail!

personally i think this would be cool as a gameplay scenario where the mission is to take out an entire group of assassins that are after you in a certain area. that is regardless of the enemies' outfits and gender though, altho it is unique.

It's cgi not in game footage.

Having different themed assassin groups would be hella cool.

Did IO do this trailer internally? They seem to be spending a lot of time making Hitman Absolution LOOK cool, rather then showing how cool it PLAYS. I am becoming more worried every time they but something out for this game. It is reminding me how similar the last Kane and Lynch game was marketed. All about the visuals and lacking in gameplay and substance.

The only thing that is keeping me on the more positive side is what I was able to see at PAX.

What did you see at PAX?

All IO really has to do is demo a sandbox level and everyone will be happy enough.

IO demoed the Orphanage level. They actually did it multiple times with different play styles. The first one was playing like someone was trying to achieve a silent assassin rating. No shots were fired and it was all about stealth. Disguises were used, enemies were drugged, bodies were hidden (one was hidden in a ball pit) nice to see it still having that Hitman humor.

Next play through was way more violent and aggressive, making use of such things as the mark and execute. 47 would of died if the developers didn't have god mode on. I could care less.

Instantly reminded me of how Deus Ex 3 was demoed to the public. I just don't understand why IO hasn't done the same.

You can actually see some of the footage on youtube if anyone is interested.

Okay so all this is, is a simple case of terrible marketing.

Wait so there's no get in, kill target, get out missions anymore?

That's 100% what the problem is and why people are hesitant about this. They haven't shown THAT at all. When everyone cried over too much action, they showed a splinter cell level, while what everyone actually wanted was a Hitman level.

Nuns Death Squad.

Hitman : Absolution

absolution

Pronunciation: /absəˈluːʃ(ə)n/
noun
[mass noun]

formal release from guilt, obligation, or punishment: absolution from the sentence
ecclesiastical declaration that a person’s sins have been forgiven: she had been granted absolution for her sins

Origin:

Middle English: via Old French from Latin absolutio(n-), from the verb absolvere (see absolve)

Here's your hint, maybe!

Oh well, Dishonored sounds like a better game anyway.

That's what I am talking about the bad marketing. The only levels that I have seen so far have had 47 more on the defensive end of things. They need to show a level with a contract or target you have to take out. I am sure its in there.

Remember this is IO, they aren't really known for doing drastic changes in their games. lol. That is the only thing I am holding onto right now.

GAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I person actually got to ask the devs about the god mode in the QA section of the event. The devs said that they had it on simply because they are still balancing enemy damage and things like that......we will see.

Yes! I am also super pumped for Dishonored. I hear there is going to be a nice 3 minute demo shown at E3.

Those latex fetish nuns had some mad skills.
Walking slowly forward while completely ignoring anything happening behind you is harder then it looks.

So, Robert Rodriguez is making movie starring 47? In other words, what the fuck is this shit.
Someone had his fetish rendered out in detail, taking money away from making a good game.

What was up with that trailer? Is it supposed to represent actual gameplay? I'm certainly not opposed to sexy nun assassins, but that's not really looking like a traditional style Hitman game to me. *confuzzled*

I liked it. It's a hype trailer to grab as many eyes as possible and it did its job. Some of my friends who have never heard of Hitman are asking me about it.

Naysayers should really just wait on the demo. Lawd knows if it sucks i'll be joining you all on the battlements.

Pretty awesome trailer, though I was disappointed there was zero gameplay to be found.
I still suspect that multiplayer is part of the new game, but I have faith in IO to make it fit the game well. Like I said earlier, if they do multiplayer, it has to be The Ship-style... and that's pretty awesome for a game like this.

Anyway, haters gonna hate. Just ignore them at this point... they receive every piece of information negatively, before thinking about "every past Hitman game had dudebro trailers" or "there have been female assassins in Hitman before" or "bu bu Instinct mode is soooo stoopid! Pulling out a magical laptop that can track everyone's movement and location in an area is so much better!" or whatever else certain people will think up, and however else they'll try to project their own opinions onto the Hitman community.

By the way, smh at the description on Youtube:
It's an action-packed thrill ride, reflecting the very special vibe and atmosphere you can expect in HITMAN: ABSOLUTION™ when it launches globally on November 20
I'm very worried.

Yeah right just ignore all the people who are actually commenting on what IO is bringing out instead of hopes and dreams that this will still be like the old Hitman games.

Like stated above itt, where are the missions where you are dropped into a sandbox enviroment and have various ways to take out your target then escape? Because right now it looks like the enemies always know you are coming or are in the area which is stupid.

47 is being hunted or is like the most wanted assassin ever, so why is he staying in the US?

There are like a laundry list of complaints and it doesnt come down to omg they only show us the action or wow what is this dumbass wallhack
bullshit?

LOL this shit says it all.

It's only missing 'visceral' and 'no holds barred'.
