Considering skipping the first one and playing this sequel. How ill advised is this? Not sure I can be arsed playing through a flawed and lacking game to get to its good sequel. Hopefully there'll be a recap movie or I'll watch a runthrough online.

In merely 2 weeks Travis will touchdown again. I'd dare I'd bail on my studies entirely for that day if not for an exam that week.
I'm even more excited to pick up NMH 2 game after reading IGN's positive hands-on impressions especially given that Bozon scored the original game quite low. It's good to hear that the sequel seems to not basically fix all of the flaws in the original game but has turned them into some of the sequel's best features. For its first big sequel, Grasshopper Manufacture appears on the right track of knowing what to fix and what content fans want more of. I love you, Suda 51.
I really hope the sequel outsells the orignal game. Not surprisingly, Ubisoft looks like it will be making the same mistake twice by doing little to market the NMH franchise. You're the publisher so DO SOMETHING!

Well, considering that the first No More Heroes game is so cheap right now, so you can get it for under $20, it's wellworth the price. However, with the sequel coming out soon , you may just want to wait and stick with it instead since it appears to improve upon all of the first game's major flaws, with those being the barren overworld, the frusterating mission structure and the mostly dull mini games.
Although, You might just want to consider renting it or something. Even better, you could just spend $10 to buy a used copy of the game through Goozex for 200 points. If you end up not liking it or want to trade it then simply put it on Goozex and you'll be able to use those 200 points to get another game that you have not played yet for the same amount of points or less.
