This PC footage uses a wider FOV than the console footage if I'm remembering it accurately. A wider FOV exaggerates distances and gives the illusion of increased speed. Also, the game just moves really damn fast on a normal day so there's that too.

Speed is increased due to upgrades - "This gameplay at 120 FOV - with the player's personal upgrades and rune perks set for advanced speed and movement capabilities", added Stratton.

I'm just hoping that those are easy to get right away, or that the speed at default isn't much slower. Will have to wait and see

Jesus, I really wish that such speed isn't required for the enjoyment of the game. Looks good for sure, but I've got a headache just by watching it.

Looks great.

Although the speed is fun to watch, and I get why people like it, I will be playing it with a gamepad on my PC, and going a tad slower.

I like my SP FPS games slower and atmospheric. I feel like that guy was taking in nothing.

The framerate and graphics should be a treat though. Going to wait for my 1080 to buy this, though I am sure my SLI 970s could handle it well.

Me too am going to play with a controller on Pc, much more comfortable.

I'll be using a single 970 GTX though, I'll tweak the game to get stable 60fps

Just bought it cause of that video.

I said it in the other thread and I'll say it again here, the game either needs a weaponfov slider or (preferably) a 'small weapons' option

When weapons obscure so much of the view that they get in the way of seeing what's going on then you're doing it wrong.

I hope someone on pc figures out how to simply hide the weapon models, I'd rather play with just a crosshair than these ridiculous potatoes blocking the screen
You can hide weps as an option i believe. Also there are wep fov commands in engine

This is impressive. PC version looking great.

This is not the "nightmare" visual preset though since it has not been specified.

I'm almost certain there was a hide weapons model option in the multiplayer beta but maybe I'm misremembering.

Personally the weapon model size didn't bother me at all but always good to have options!

Looks stunning of course but parts of it were so fast my eyes were rolling and couldn't even make out what was being shot at.

Does this have co-op? One thing I really loved about I and II was going through the levels together.

No co-op.

I've heard some claims about SnapMap supporting co-op like modes though i've also seen mentions about "no bots" so i don't see how that works.

I think this convinced me to not buy Doom until I get a new PC

Going to be tough changing back to mouse and keyboard after so long, but if real Doom (and Quake next please) is back then it's worth it

This gameplay is from a PC running Vulkan on a Titan X at 120 FOV - with the player's personal upgrades and rune perks set for advanced speed and movement capabilities. Enjoy the video and we can't wait to have YOU play this Friday.”

I haven't seen this mentioned itt except once on the last page where it went unnoticed.

1: this shows that the movement really is faster and it's not just the FOV like others were trying to say.

2: potentially we all got way ahead of ourselves here, because if this speed is only indicative of a fully 'upgraded' and specialised into speed character (ugh rpg elements in fps games, just do away with that shit already) you might still have to spend the first 50-70 percent of the game with the potato speed and potato gameplay from those other gameplay videos and trailers.

If we can't give ourselves all the movement speed perks and runes and w/e from the start of the game (through console commands or something) then I will never play this.

That's how Doom/Quake should look like :)

I almost wept when I saw Quake 3 played on x360 with gamepad.

They derailed their own hype train by not showing 60 FPS M & K gameplay. There's a huge chunk of their intended audience that remember playing Doom that way. This footage months ago will have gotten a good few Quake fans onboard too. As it stands this might be a save anyway. I've moved from 'waiting for sale' to 'waiting for impressions' I just can't understand how accomplished devs can misread their own market, when the particular niche itself has been on ice for years, been studied to the hilt, with a revered brand and a guaranteed fanbase.

Very interested to see how this goes on my older rig.

Core i7 870 (2.93GHz)
2 x GTX 670 in SLI
8GB DDR3

I have a 30" monitor but I doubt I'll be able to run it at 2560x1600 =S

MINIMUM:
OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit versions)
Processor: Intel Core i5-2400/AMD FX-8320 or better
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 670 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB or better
Storage: 55 GB available space
Additional Notes: Requires Steam activation and broadband internet connection for Multiplayer and SnapMap

RECOMMENDED:
OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit versions)
Processor: Intel Core i7-3770/AMD FX-8350 or better
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 970 4GB/AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB or better
Storage: 55 GB available space
Additional Notes: Requires Steam activation and broadband internet connection for Multiplayer and SnapMap

Probably works with lowest settings. No comment on whether SLI benefits the game or not.

If we can't give ourselves all the movement speed perks and runes and w/e from the start of the game (through console commands or something) then I will never play this.

I would imagine there are 3 speed perks based upon what I read:
Default move speed perk
Then some mantling one, ledge grab thing
Then something about brutalities being faster

The first two are the only interesting ones. And yeah, them being rpg'd and being unlocked is painfully stupid.

Is it even worth VPN unlocking guys? The consoles have a 5Gb day one patch. I assume unlocking it early is pointless unless you have paid for a VPN that has a large download quota.

Even though I'm full jelly that my pc can't run this I'm still super hyped for doom and will be grabbing this tomorrow on my PS4. Jack that sensitivity up and bust out the trusty claw grip.

See you all in hell!!!!!
