Cajole, serious question. Who is your favorite Met of all time?
EDIT: Fuck it, I feel like making a list. Who is everyone's favorite player for their team all time?

I still do not understand why we just let him go. Makes no fucking sense at all.mYm|17| said:joel peralta...........so good
That's why I said being serious. Even if I try and put myself in your shoes, I can't think of any answers more or less valid.CajoleJuice said:Turk Wendell
Nah, I already got you down for Derek Lowe.CygnusXS said:All time? Gotta go Chipper I think. His personal life and Mets trolling make him extra awesome.
You COULD go for one of the others, but you will certainly get shit for it. It would make you a two team fan or eighty plus.Sharp said:For me, are you talking just this iteration of the Nats, or counting the Expos/Senators?
Well... Zimmerman in that case. Not like I've got a bunch of options though with these stringent restrictions.Sanjuro Tsubaki said:You COULD go for one of the others, but you will certainly get shit for it. It would make you a two team fan or eighty plus.
Honestly, it's tough. Wendell and Leiter were the first jerseys (well, shirts) I ever had. Piazza was awesome, but for whatever reason I never loved him as much as most Mets fans. I think the 14-year-old me was definitely disappointed he didn't charge the mound on Clemens in 2000. I loved Edgardo Alfonzo for the few years he was actually good.Sanjuro Tsubaki said:That's why I said being serious. You never saw Keith play at all? How old are you? I have a few players where I was very young and carried over into the 90s a bit. On the way back home I was actually trying to think of the Met equivalent. The best I could do is Piazza, but I could never admit to anyone that my favorite player is Mike Piazza.CajoleJuice said:Honestly, it's tough. But I always thought I would love Wright and Reyes more than anyone else. And I did love Wright -- still do -- but the past few years have worn me down having to defend him all the fucking time to morons. And it almost starts to creep in my mind that the Mets can't win with them even though it's a retarded notion.
The Met I seriously love most is Keith Hernandez even though I never watched him play, especially since my dad taught me from birth that he was better than Don Mattingly.
I'm almost 25. I was 3 when Keith was done with the Mets.Sanjuro Tsubaki said:You never saw Keith play at all? How old are you? Ah. Yeah, for me I had Rocket and Boggs. I'm not sure how I feel about Boggs really anymore, he didn't do anything REALLY wrong. When I was a kid seeing him ride around on the horse in Yankee Stadium I teared up a bit. Since then kinda have no real feelings towards him.CajoleJuice said:I'm almost 25. Yeah, no one like that for the Mets, really. Dwight Gooden hung around on the team for a while, but he was a shell of his former self by the time I saw him, and then he threw a fucking no-hitter for the Yankees, goddamn it.Sanjuro Tsubaki said:Ah. I still love Rocket.
