I don't know why attendance is down, this is by far the most entertaining team to watch in baseball

Yeah 4th in the AL in runs sounds like an anemic lineup to me.

anemic is the wrong word to use. they are very reliant on the homerun. I mean, I don't think hitting into double plays constantly is a good line-up. (so far)

Man, just in a great mood today. Just got out of a class which I'm normally dead coming out of. 6-9:30, technical writing. Just got some annoying assignments out of the way.

Cajole, serious question. Who is your favorite Met of all time?

EDIT: Fuck it, I feel like making a list. Who is everyone's favorite player for their team all time?

Derek Lowe just got Matt Kemp to whiff with men on 2nd and 3rd.

HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

oh but then he gives up a 2 run single to Juan Uribe

god damn

Reggie, Mattingly and Nettles a distant third.

That's why I said being serious. Even if I try and put myself in your shoes, I can't think of any answers more or less valid.

All time? Gotta go Chipper I think. His personal life and Mets trolling make him extra awesome.
Nah, I already got you down for Derek Lowe.

For me, are you talking just this iteration of the Nats, or counting the Expos/Senators?
You COULD go for one of the others, but you will certainly get shit for it. It would make you a two team fan or eighty plus.

Well... Zimmerman in that case. Not like I've got a bunch of options though with these stringent restrictions.

The braves are 5 for 11 in stolen base attempts...maybe we shouldn't run so much. Radical idea i know.

Honestly, it's tough. Wendell and Leiter were the first jerseys (well, shirts) I ever had. Piazza was awesome, but for whatever reason I never loved him as much as most Mets fans. I think the 14-year-old me was definitely disappointed he didn't charge the mound on Clemens in 2000. I loved Edgardo Alfonzo for the few years he was actually good.

But I always thought I would love Wright and Reyes more than anyone else. And I did love Wright -- still do -- but the past few years have worn me down having to defend him all the fucking time to morons. And it almost starts to creep in my mind that the Mets can't win with them even though it's a retarded notion.

The Met I seriously love most is Keith Hernandez even though I never watched him play, especially since my dad taught me from birth that he was better than Don Mattingly.

You never saw Keith play at all? How old are you? I have a few players where I was very young and carried over into the 90s a bit. On the way back home I was actually trying to think of the Met equivalent. The best I could do is Piazza, but I could never admit to anyone that my favorite player is Mike Piazza.

I'm almost 25. I was 3 when Keith was done with the Mets.

Ah. Yeah, for me I had Rocket and Boggs. I'm not sure how I feel about Boggs really anymore, he didn't do anything REALLY wrong. When I was a kid seeing him ride around on the horse in Yankee Stadium I teared up a bit. Since then kinda have no real feelings towards him.

I still love Rocket.

I love this team.

I really thought we were screwed tonight, too. Our offense was ice cold for the first five innings. Not a single base runner.

But we got it turned around rather nicely.

Go Tribe.

Yeah, no one like that for the Mets, really. Dwight Gooden hung around on the team for a while, but he was a shell of his former self by the time I saw him, and then he threw a fucking no-hitter for the Yankees, goddamn it.

Man, Hoch was perfect the first five innings, then it all went to hell.

I really thought we had this. Well, there's always tomorrow. Maybe we can split this.

Oh, and Frank White is my answer.

Go Royals.
