Wow, Festivale today turned out to be a big deal, took a load of pics...
Yay! This is a new holiday for the AC series. I love how confetti rains down all day like snow and all the festive music.
Participation in Festivale is mandatory apparently. ¬___¬
The neighbors want you to participate in games of chance with them all day long, you either win candy, or you lose some candy you have or 500 bells if you don't have any candy on you. I hid candy in my letters whenever I won a piece - it's more rare than a measly 500 bells, and you really need all the candy you can get!
This guy Pavé was dancing his butt off in front of town hall and requesting candy non-stop. When you brought him 3 pieces of a type of candy he requested he gave you furniture.
Also as you can see, went a little nuts with the turnips this week, they go all the way from town hall up to Nook's, 17,000 turnips in total. Although I think Pavé spent all day crushing the ones I had where he set up his stand. Hope I get them back once he leaves.
Mind Soccer: One of the games you can play with the neighbors. You start off as goalie and have to guess which way their kick will go. Then it is your turn to kick as they play goalie. Whoever gets a goal point advantage first wins.
Coin Flipper: Basically you have to call a coin toss 3 times in a row in order to earn candy. This one was frustrating till you realize that it falls into a pattern most of the time. 75% of the time it's Tails, Tails, Heads.
Psychic Test: First they will ask you to tell them the shape they are thinking of. Circle/Triangle/Square or SomethingIForget/Star/Wavey Lines. Then they will ask you which fruit they are thinking about Apple/Peach/Orange/Cherries/Pear. Lot of variables in this one, but I found a good pattern. Triangle->Peach tended to be correct about 75% of the time, and Wavey Lines->Cherries was right about 99% of the time; there was only 1 instance of that being wrong.
Hand Guessing: Guess which hand the candy is in two times in a row. When discussing the game, if they give you two 'sly' emotions, the candy is in their right hand both guesses. If it's only one 'sly' emotion, the candy will change hands. So if you guess the correct hand the first guess, guess the other hand your second guess.
Me paying the penalty for failing Ruby's psychic test!
Rock, Paper, Scissors: Best two outta three is the winner. This game goes by pretty randomly. There are some patterns, but by the time you figure out the pattern you've either won or lost. No clues I could see that would tell you which one to guess to start off with - although I successfully won the first 'round' about 50% of the time by going with 'Rock', 25% tied, and 25% lost. They very rarely picked paper right off the bat.
I have never heard of such a tax. ¬___¬
Me winning a soccer mind game! It's not my mind soccer skills you gotta watch out for Lobo, it's my MIND BULLETS! YAR!
Viva!!
Werd, bow down to all my mental powers!
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!
As the day wore on (read 3 hours into the festivale) I got tired of tracking down neighbors, so I started fencing them in. Luckily in about 15 minutes, all 5 of the neighbors who were outside wandered over to this particular area of my town and I just trapped them all for quick access to play their games and get my candy.
Pavé is how you say; cracked out of his mind. Pretty sure 'candy' in this case is something illegal. I felt like a drug mule all day transporting him candy.
Yellow: LSD?
Green: Pot?
Blue: Crack?
Red: Extacy?
Being Pavé's drug mule for the day was pretty profitable. And it DID take me most of the day to get the full set of his furniture; 10 items plus floor and wallpaper. Kept getting tons of duplicates over and over. I ended up getting like 5 tables at one point.
What was funny is that sometimes I would have the right amount of the next kind of candy he wanted with me, so I would go ahead and give it to him. When you gave him candy again right away he would say something like...
Pavé: "Oh, what do you want from Pavé? You have candy already?! This time I will give you something new, give to me candy!"
Only problem is that he wasn't guaranteed to give you anything new at all. One instance I got a Pavé Chest from him, gave him candy right away, then he gave me another Pavé Chest. It all just points to the conclusion that he is drugged out of his mind; why else would he stand around dancing in one spot all day long?
Anyway, obsessive compulsive collecting tendencies have been sated for the day; and I was able to make about 200,000 bells selling off the duplicate items. :lol
