PES 2013 had the best character models I've seen in a football game to date. The learning curve was high, but there wasn't as much AI bullshit that FIFA usually has. The choppy cutscenes really were a bother though. Game felt promising, but unpolished.
2014 was a travesty.
2015 looks very promising. Choppy cutscenes are out, smooth 1080p 60fps are in. Character models look really good, even better than 2013. Many people are reporting the controls are very responsive. Skill tricks are limited, even for star players (thank god) so getting past defenders actually depends on manual dribbling, good things have been said about goal keeper decision making and movement (animations are sick, decision making needs further investigation, highlight reels aren't conclusive enough) Career mode revamped (yay), ML is now MyClub (ultimate team knockoff but I'll take it)
The bullshit I experienced with FIFA 14 isn't worth going back for seconds, especially with the mediocre improvements implemented. Nonetheless, I will be grabbing the FIFA 15 demo along with the PES 15 demo and will be comparing them.
PES 15 is already on preorder though. Here's hoping that edit mode is enabled for ps4 in some capacity.
