In all seriousness, when will this thing likely be over?

SNAP
No later than June 15th. She's promised to concede by them. Maybe earlier depending on how the rest of the elections go through to the last election on June 3rd.

I expect her to go nuclear. She'll take this to the convention. She's going down in flames and will take the party with her.

I hope I'm proven wrong, but that's what I see happening.

She has stopped attacking him on the trail, so I doubt it

Uh, that's very unlikely. Look at how the campaign has behaved since NC/Indiana. It's been peaceful, even her victory speech in WV was conciliatory.

If the michigan and florida delegates are seated then she will then argue that their popular vote should fully count giving her a lead. She will then say the superdelegates will make the decision at the convention and she will fight until then.

Yeah I think she finally sees the writing on the wall. Now she's just closing out all the contests because she's "not a quitter". And that McCain video makes me dislike him even more. What happened to Senator McCain? Oh wait, he sold his soul in exchange for a run at the Presidency.

I came here to post this. It's a shame no one is going to pay attention to this on the MSM.
That's what the political ad that the DNC should be running. The guy is completely vunerable to that attack.

You probably can't even say that on TV so I'm not sure how they would present the question.

Have you ever said THIS word?! *holds up sheet of paper*
The word doesn't have to be used. Everyone knows about the rumor. The media should ask and get an answer from the horses mouth. We shouldn't have to rely on audience plants to get an answer to that question.

I've seen that one moveon ad with that fat bald republican praising Obama on the cable news channels a couple times already

These McCain ads are rough.

I fear to see the type of Obama ads that'll be coming if this is what we'll see from the left.

Yeah, if dems are doing that we might see Hitler and Antichrist ads from the right.

Are you referring to the flip-flop video? I think that is just a homemade piece from that site.

Really, this is too easy. This guy is such a pathetic candidate, I'm talking Bob Dole levels of pathetic-ness.

Does that sound like Powers Boothe/Cy Tolliver from Deadwood to anyone else?

Obama should get Ian McShane in character as Swearengen for his next ad.

Yup. But I think there are signs that Obama and the dems will pick up on McCain's "say anything to get elected" tactics. Obama cited McCain's flip on Hamas in his comments the other day. Hopefuly that continues.

BTW, http://therealmccain.com/ is bursting with more of those compilations.

No, I'm referring to the FIRE CHARLIE BLACK video.

It is the epitome of slimy political ads - trying to indict a candidate by association, with the cloak of high-grounded righteousness slung upon the shoulders of the ad maker.

Of course, this may be considered fair game by some... i just know these sort of things will only get worse from here.

Um Ami, Black, according to the ad, is McCain's chief adviser and a lobbyist. I can't comment on the ad's truthfulness, but it seems to be a legitimate point.

mad props to Piuma at MYDD

If you count all valid contests and include estimates of the caucuses that don't reveal popular vote totals (IA, NV, ME, WA):
Obama 16,438,697 / Clinton 15,734,865 = Obama +703,832 +2.1%

--

If you count all valid contests but exclude the caucuses that don't reveal popular vote totals (IA, NV, ME, WA):

Obama 16,104,613 / Clinton 15,511,003 = Obama +593,610 +1.8%

If you count all valid contests AND the State of Florida, and include estimates of the caucuses that don't reveal popular vote totals (IA, NV, ME, WA):

Obama 17,014,911 / Clinton 16,605,851 = Obama +409,060 +1.2%

If you count all valid contests AND the States of Florida and Michigan (giving Obama the uncommitted vote) and include estimates of the caucuses that don't reveal popular vote totals (IA, NV, ME, WA):

Obama 17,253,079 / Clinton 16,934,160 = Obama +318,919 +0.9%

Obama 17,014,911 / Clinton 16,934,160 = Obama +80,751 +0.22%

of the 8 ways people have thought up to discover and count the popular vote, only ONE has Clinton up, and it doesn't include the 4 caucus states w/o numbers and gives him 0 from Michigan. but remember, you have to 'count all the votes'(TM) so Clinton is ahead!

i thought this was a very good summary of the different ways and was cool to look at

Huckabee says he would like to be McCain's No. 2
Posted: today

WASHINGTON - Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said Sunday he'd like to be John McCain's running mate.

"There's no one I would rather be on a ticket with than John McCain," said Huckabee, who was a stronger than expected challenger against McCain for the Republican presidential nomination. "All during the campaign when I was his rival, not a running mate, there was no one who was more complimentary of him publicly and privately. ... I still wanted to win, but if I couldn't, John McCain was always the guy I would have supported and have now supported.

"But whether or not I do the best for him, that's something that only he can decide," Huckabee said on NBC's "Meet the Press."

I like how "meeting with enemies" is such a horrible thing all of a sudden, when tons of presidents throughout history (Republican and Democrat) have done the same thing.

It's just GOP fear mongering.

How would a McCain/Huckabee ticket shape things? I'm guessing it would neutralize any chance Obama had in a number of states by rallying the evangelical vote. That guy seems nice, but he also scares me.

All of the independents that McCain had a chance with will run to Obama.

They're going to Photoshop Obama into one of those Osama Bin Laden video releases.

Huckabee would mean bad things for Obama. Huckabee is younger than McCain, he can get the God people, and he has a sharp wit.

You know alegre takes part in some of Hillary's conference calls right? :lol Cant believe they'd let that wacko sit in with Hillary.

No way in hell independents would vote for McCain in Hukabee is his VP. We don't need evangelicals(He is a evangelical right?) in the white house, imo.

He's more than that. He's a Young Earth Creationist who thinks that the US needs only the 10 commandments for its justice system, and who once advocated that people with AIDS be placed into concentration camps. He blamed environmentalists, nonbelievers, and pornography for violence in America. He pardoned rapists and killers who claimed to have converted to Christianity, and who, once released, proceeded to rape and kill again.

He's charming on the outside, but I fear that man more than any other politician currently on the national stage. With John McCain a few steps away from the grave, I do not want Huckabee anywhere near the Presidency.
