I hate the idea of this always online connection for single player. It’s completely unnecessary. There’s so much that could stop you playing.
But I sat of GAF and other forums complaining about it for GT Sport before release too. I play GT Sport 3-4 times a week at the moment, and have been playing persistently since launch. It’s affected me about 2 times and it was a minor inconvenience. It won’t affect me much personally, but it wasn’t that long ago I had shit internet.
PD are making a bad decision here though. The excuse they gave for the always online connection with GT Sport was that it was an online focussed game. GT7 brings back the traditional GT game but locks it behind the stability of your home internet, and as someone who’s had shit home internet before it’s a major design flaw for a single player game. If this is about how the game works, community etc, just disable it like Death Stranding does if you’re not connected. Don’t stop us saving campaign progress or even accessing it.
