Except they've clearly stated ZERO DRM on the retail version.
If this game tanks on PC, what's that going to say? "Changing our DRM policies will have no effect on sales, stop listening to the whining PC audience."
Buy this not just because it's a great game, but to show Ubisoft that there's a market.
Ok. Next time Ubi do this AT THE SAME TIME you release the console versions.
If I knew this was coming I'd have probably waited.

Or we could not buy it, at all, and show Ubisoft that PC gamers won't take their bullshit.
Some people just want to buy the digital version. The decision to make the retail version drm free but not the digital version is pretty stupid.

http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-RMO/rayman-originsThere is nothing to suggest the digital versions have any DRM beyond their respective clients (Steam, Impulse, Origin, etc...)
DRM:Tagés

so what your saying:
Ubisoft add's drm to a game : DON'T BUY IT GUYS!
Ubisoft add's no drm to a game : DON'T BUY IT GUYS!
What about WII .
So the 360/ps3 versions were native 1080p? Wonder if the PC version will have anything extra visually to separate itself
Is it true that the 3DS version won't have multiplayer?
I know that Ubisoft record is nothing to reassure us but I honestly think (for the little that it's worth what I think) that that Gamersgate page is more likely to be only a placeholder. We'll see.
Neither Vita, at least from what is known...
So wait, what's the point of the digital version having DRM if the retail version doesn't? Wouldn't people just pirate that one?
I'm so confused.
double dipping the pc version!!!NO DRM!
Rayman itself probably won't (well except for people making 2D platformers, which saddens me greatly) but I like to think Ubisoft has some decent influence on the industry. And if the game flops on PC there is no doubt in my mind they'll talk about it whenever they get the chance. Tho I can't lie I want it to do good and see the outcome from both Ubisoft and other devsCapcom has likely set a pretty good example with Sonic Generations, and I'd like to think it's been fairly profitable for them. And well, let's not forget Skyrim if we look outside the platforming genre. Publishers know there's a PC audience out there willing to buy games...there's enough evidence for that at this point. I don't think Rayman would do much to change their minds, especially when it flopped on the consoles anyways.
What controller you use? Saturn?A better controller. I can play this with any controller I want. On console I can't.
Yessss this and my account was approved, was so sad there wasnt a PC version. Will buy even with DRM, this game deserves a lot of sales. So excited.
It tanked on consoles, what's that saying already? If this game tanks on PC, what's that going to say?
Terrible release date.It tanked on consoles, what's that saying already?
Ubi is testing something out. The game already tanked on consoles so the hope that PC will be their saving grace is a lost cause and they know it. I truly believe that they decided to put it on PC because they just don't give a fuck anymore. What would they be protecting by keeping it off PC or adding a bunch of DRM? Something that made them no real money anyway? So even if it gets pirated to hell and back, some PC money is better than no PC money and at the same time they can conduct their little experaments. So wait, what's the point of the digital version having DRM if the retail version doesn't? Wouldn't people just pirate that one?

I think you misunderstood. The thing which makes no sense is that, at this stage, it appears that the boxed version will have no additional DRM but the digital versions will. So either Ubisoft thinks that torrents only come from digital copies of games or someone fucked up and the digital versions will also be DRM free.
ok. I'll remember to play the pc version on a tv.I have it on PS3 and this is a game that would feel better on the TV. Great for PC only players though as the game is amazing!!
Which is hilarious, because piracy already existed way before DD.

Uhhh... yeah? I have a 720p TV and a 1680x1050 monitor, so it's going to look sharper on my monitor even if the picture's smaller (though with a 26 inch TV it's not going to be MUCH bigger on the TV anyway).Do people still even play PC games on monitors?
