There PC ports are very solid and the community is pretty healthy for Black Ops 2 around 6000 people playing daily when blops 3 is coming out it will go over 40k players but as time passes more and more will stop playing it happens every time.

I will get the PC version later on but for now i will go with PS4 first.

I also want to add that the Xbox One beta was the blurriest 900p game I've ever played, it was really bad. If you're a big PC player that plays at high resolution and fps, you will absolutely be disappointed. This isn't a systems war thing, the PS4 version wasn't as sharp as other 1080p games. I think its the AA solution they're using. It's worth knowing this before you buy. They might improve this with the final versions (on both consoles), but the worst case scenario is that it looks the same as the beta.

In the next few weeks I should be able to get this on PC. I never thought I would have been saying this about a cod game, but I'm actually excited to pick it up. Hopefully i'm not caked in rust.

Also just wanna thank Mercury, Nokterian, Kalentan, and anyone else who has been helping people out in this thread. You guys pretty much made me do a full 180 on this game that is apart of a series I haven't cared about for over 3 years. Hope to see some of you in game.

No worries, I will be playing it on PS4 so unfortunately we won't be able to play together. I hope you enjoy the game!

This is the first CoD I'll buy with my own money.I usually just play at my cousin's house, but I must own this. Just bought the digital deluxe edition from psn store. Can't wait

Alright this pushed me over the edge and now I switched my preorder from Battlefront (despite enjoying the beta but had concerns over content and lack of information) to Black Ops 3. I just think this is more worth the money, especially buying my first FPS game since Modern Warfare 2.

GAF I hope I made the right decision. Been vacillating over getting either game for a while.

Ughhh...They're tempting me again and since it's Treyarch, I have more confidence in the game (despite BO2's hip-firing SMG's that made everything else obsolete).

We'll see how it goes since it comes out on my birthday, but Treyarch is definitely the top studio on COD games now (could be argued that they've been the best since BO1 but now it's pretty clear) and a 3 year cycle is refreshing.

I'm really, really tempted to preorder now thanks to this thread. Haven't played a COD since BOII and I have a bunch of Best Buy credit. Only worried about time, what with Fallout and Battlefront coming immediately afterward. Epitome of first world problems right there.

I'm strongly considering doing the same thing actually. BO III has a lot of content and I'm really surprised that Activision is not selling at least one of the modes as DLC.

Haven't played a COD since MW2 put a bad taste in my mouth. I started to really loathe the series, even though I didn't play any of the releases after. To me COD 1 and MW were just so special and tight it seemed like all of the others were just map packs with new stories.

Now here I am 5 minutes after preordering BO3. This seems like a really special game the more I see of it. Maybe it was the extra dev time, maybe Activision realized that this isn't FIFA or Madden after slipping sales and reviews. Something seems different. I guess I became jaded and hated on big franchises because that's what the cool kids did. This and Halo 5 (another series I dropped for several iterations) might be what gets me back into multiplayer gaming. I would have never have guessed.

I'm not a fan of CoD, but I've heard this has campaign co-op, with female characters? My coop buddy might be interested in that ...

Yeah I was wondering this too. Is it 4 player co-op or 2 player co-op for the campaign? And will this new game mode be co-op too?

Dunno about the new game mode.

Campaign is up to 4 players. Locally, you can only do 2 player split-screen, but you can also bring them online and find two other players.

On launch day, me and my buddies plan to set up our TVs right next to each other, do 2 player splits on each, and go through the campaign like that.

It's 4 player co-op online for campaign, and I assume Nightmares will have it too

If you're asking about splitscreen, I believe it is:

2 player campaign
4 player local multiplayer and zombies
2 player online multiplayer and zombies

If Activision was smart, they'd whip up some quick and dirty targeted ads to Halo fans who feel burnt by lack of split screen. I can't comment on the visual fidelity of this vs Halo 5, but it's kind of hilarious that this has so many options while still pumping 60fps

Thanks for the quick confirmation! Shit between Halo 5, Battlefront and this, I'm gonna have multiplayer shooters 4 daysss

I'm gonna try to wrap up Syndicate this week so I can trade it in for Blops. The zombies and this new mode really sold me.

Quick question seeing as how this will be my first CoD after Modern Warfare 2, how necessary are the map packs? Is it still easy to find matches without the DLC? And I'll be playing on PS4, I'm guessing the community will stay pretty healthy until the next CoD is out?

Is there a good non spoilery breakdown of the gameplay added in this one? I've never really gone nuts over CoD but a lot of people are seeming to say this one has a lot more 'game' stuffed in. I'm starting to get interested...

Does anyone know if the campaign has matchmaking? Or is there gonna be CoD GAF running people through Realistic campaigns like the pros we all think we are :p

Shit, just learned you can customize the outfits of each specialist as well as everything else.

And I think the top player on the winning team can taunt, which is also custom.

God damn, I'm actually getting interested in a CoD game =/

There's so much stuff in it this year!

Usually my father buys CoD every year but he (somehow) doesn't like the Black Ops series so I may have to bite the bullet and buy it.

Just when I thought I was out

They pulled me back in ^_~

Okay, you have my money, first Cod since BO1...local coop and zombies got me. Looking forward, hope SnD is as good as in BO1...Also the renewed BO1 maps, will make me buy the season pass, never thought I would but I will.

Just one last question, online multiplayer will be playable in splitscreen locally?

I was tempted to switch my pre-order from Battlefront to Blops 3 but I think I'll just stick with the plan and get Blops 3 for Christmas. It sounds really good though, arguably better than Battlefront in some departments (single player, sheer amount of content). Battlefront will still be my multiplayer shooter (not a big fan of CoD multiplayer) but I think I might get this just for the campaign, Zombies, and Nightmare mode.

On another note, I think that Treyarch should perhaps try to go independent and start a new IP built around their experience with the Black Ops series. Their pedigree shouldn't have to be tied to a series which has been tarnished by annual and underwhelming entries. A lot of people are going to write this off as just another CoD without hesitation which is a shame because it looks like a lot of legitimate effort was put into this one. The three year development cycle probably helped a lot.

Oh man, that's cool. Doesn't every specialist have it's own progression track, next to your global and weapon xp? I guess the customizations for the specialists are tied to that. Gives a nice incentive to get to max rank with all of them.

(Hope it's tied to a progression track and be unlockable through playing the game, and not microtransactions...)

You can even Create a Class in zombies and customize the guns you get off the walls before you go into the game

And there is a black market where users can share their custom paintjobs and camos and download them for personal use like you can in Forza

Someone said that the supply drops will only be for gestures (on the victory screen I guess) and for different looking attachments, and not for different weapon variants. That doesn't sound to bad? I've never played AW so I dont know how they ruined the mp.

Here's a vid talking about supply drops in Blops 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mv5x-6nBIlc&feature=youtu.be

As long as there's nothing in there that actually effects gameplay, like weapons with different stats, and it's cosmetic only, I'm completely fine with it.

Out of the entirety of the CoD franchise there are only two games that are universally agreed on to be 'bad' CoD games---MW3 and Ghosts.
