Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines is on sale for $5 and I am not getting it. I just thought I'd mention that since today is like the holy day of ZOMG that several people here have been waiting for.

Mirror's Edge on Origin is pretty tempting. But it's kinda silly that the DLC is as much as the regular game.

We've sent a strong message to Activision here today!

"It's on sale!?!?! Fucking aweso- and you're sure it won't go any lower now? I mean it was on sale a few weeks ago for more than this and sometimes the future is hard to read and all maybe I should wait...Hrmmm. Hrm. I mean yeah it's only five dollars but what if I get an extra 5% next week? YOU'RE SURE?!?! You're like at least 90% that it won't go lower during the Winter sale or whatever? 87%? That's still pretty close but... Well, maybe...All right, all right I guess I'll get it, god help them if this motherfucker goes down to $4 next week though. That's just bullshit."

Quality sells!

so i bought Mirror's Edge off the EA store for $4.99 ...but was kinda surprised to see that they charged tax on it, which brought it up to $5.74.

Steam and Direct2Drive never charge me tax.

What up wit dat?

The costume packs for Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition are up for sale.

I will wait till the Xmas sale. Since Capcom only does 50% max sales i will get SSF4:AE and Costume pack for $27.50

So whats the word on Runaway : A road adventure? It looks great yet cheesy somehow, anyone played it?

It's nice to see that Capcom is willing to fuck people just as passionately on the PC as they do on the consoles.

The total price of all the costumes on pc is I believe 33% of the total original prices of all the separate mega packs on consoles.

Ouch, and it's still ridiculously overpriced. :P

I'd like to see them be free of charge, but the day capcom actually cared about the fan of their games is looooong gone.

The visuals are nice.

Voice acting is terrible (and sound quality too), the tone is completely conflicting, the puzzles do not make any sense, and the plot is terrible. Pendulo Studios' two latest games (Next Big Thing and the latest Runaway game) are supposed to be much better, from what I gather.

I'd say avoid it.

I don't if this the right place but i'll give it a shot. I hooked up my pc to the tv and the text is really small in games i can barely read it. I usually put the resolution on 1080 and it kinda help if i toned the resolution down to better read the text, but still i'm sacrificing the picture quality. If anyone could shed some light on this would be appreciated.

This is something I'd like to know more about too. I find it a pain to hook up my laptop to the TV as I have to fiddle with the Windows settings. It took me an hour to figure out what resolution I could use.

Then my sister tried after I failed to get her laptop hooked up to the correct resolution and she was done within a minute - just by going down by one resolution level :P. The screen fitted (though with unavoidable black bars around the edge) but most of my games worked (and Aquaria looked absolutely lovely)

I just flick the image over to my TV, put it at my TV's native res (1080p) and the text is always fine to read.

I need to enlarge text for web browsing etc, but that's normal due to the distance back etc.

Thanks for the input, will stay clear of the game, backlog is big enough I guess.

Mine fits the screen just fine but i found it hard to read the text on most games.

What do people think of Dino D-day? I remember a giant bomb quicklook of it and it looked rather amusing, is it worth £5 ? Since , I assume , it's heavily mp based how is the community looking within the immediate future? Is there a healthy online population?

Do you sit further back? Eye problems maybe?

I can't think why it would be hard to read on a TV if you have it at the right resolution. I've had my PC on my TV for years, with various rigs and different resoslutions, and never had that problem.

it's not that bad value considering if you wanted to buy all the individual dlc packs it would cost 3 times more than to get the complete set, so the price seems very reasonable.

l

It's pretty funny. I didn't see how much the costume pack was before seeing that image so I expected something completely outrageous. Then I checked Steam for the actual price and thought that it wasn't so bad. I can't believe I'm starting to think that $15 for a bunch of skins isn't that bad. Horse armor won in the end :(

MRORANGE said:
well there is a free weekend trial to try it out, or watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxxW39P9af8

I wish I was TotalBiscuit :(

If you play one character exclusively you can just get their pack with all their costumes for $6 or whatever.

I see it like this, I've played this fucking game for like 700 hours since vanilla, I don't mind kicking in a few bucks to look at something else. With all the value I've sapped out of this shit $15 doesn't seem like much.

It might depend on the game and the font being used. Kost of the games I have, there's no problem. The only one I've had a problem with is Winter Voices - as the text is far too small to read. I fear I might have an issue with Dungeons of Dredmor too as the interface is tricky when I'm using the laptop screen itself :P

Yeah, I pretty much gave up on Capcom's benevolence when the vaunted bonus for holding onto our old SF4 discs for SSF4 was just an extra pair of shaders.

Or you could buy a Namco fighting game and get 1 billion costume options included in the base game.

So I'll throw this out there. I'd like to get a game for my wife on my PC. Give her a little taste of PC gaming. She's really into her iTouch, playing all those Zombie Cafe and Trade Nations sort of games. She also liked Rune Factory on the Wii.

Anything jump to mind from Steam that might be a good fit?

I'm having a problem with Super Meat Boy which just showed up out of nowhere. After the intro screens, it looks like it launches fine but then the screen minus the text goes black. When I try to browse worlds, the cutscenes are black as well and the world screen backgrounds are the same. Levels work fine strangely enough, but this is rather annoying. Changing resolutions and fullscreen/windowed but no combination seems to work. Did a recent update break something?

Sadly not on Steam anymore, but Anno 1404 (Dawn of Discovery in the US). Best trading/building/economy sim ever, my girlfriend adores it. She loves Harvest Moon and trading/building sims without combat, so their tastes seem to match.

Definitely sounds like their tastes run similar. Gamersgate has Dawn of Discovery so that might just be the ticket. Heck, the game looks interesting to me too.

Hope you enjoy it, and please give an update once you've played it :) Also get the Gold version, it has the expansion.

So, mates, what dou you think about Nucler Dawn? It looks pretty fun to me, so I consider to make a pre-order.
I'm part of the closed beta and super biased because my brother is on the dev team but the game is pretty awesome, especially the maps.

I now regret not buying TESIV on sale :(

Is there a way to get them cheaper while at the same time can be integrated to Steam?

Chantelise is live on steam! Only friend on my friends list who owns it besides me is (unsurprisingly) Volcynika. Get on this people!
