Not that it's necessarily your responsibility, but can someone show/tell me something about Red Orchestra 2 that can convince me to pre-order it? I've seen the GT gameplay walkthroughs.

Re: AvP

I bought it for five bucks and enjoyed it for the character models and the animations. Gameplay wise, I thought it was really rough. The game never really reaches a climax--across all three characters you never really hit a sweet spot of abilities and enemies to use them on--the enemies are always human, android, and alien and the last ability you get isn't appreciably better or more interesting than the ones you start out with. So that gets a little tedious.

I never got the multiplayer working; I've literally never been able to find the button to open the server browser that got patched in. And trying to use the "Quick Match" button didn't work either. I wasn't too impressed with the demo when the game came out though, so I never tried too hard to make it happen.

So, five bucks for the thrill and charm of doing a couple of horribly gory and cruel fatalities over and over again. Not too disappointing, but it'd would have been nice to see the gameplay match the graphics.

I'm going to start up Europa Unversalis III, any tips?
Don't start as one of the huge countries the game says are easy (France, Castille), they can be overwhelming. Start with something smaller, but still strong. Portugal is a good choice, if you can avoid conflict with Castille (keep relations high etc.), you can do some pretty nice stuff with colonies. The Hansa is another nation you can do pretty well with.

Resist the temptation to be too aggressive, don't declare wars without having a casus belli, don't let your infamy become too high, keep an eye on relations with others.

Yeah. Pick Portugal, colonize M-A. Somewhere around 1492, naturally. Money! Power! AAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Finally I get to use my firefox add-on.

What add on is this?

Thanks for the heads up in regards to Greenmangaming, picked up RO Deluxe with the code for less than what the regular, low violence edition (Germany) would have cost me even with my 20 % discount on Steam. Since I'm getting billed in pounds I just hope I'll get the regular version. Will post about this once I get the info for the Beta. There are quite a few German GAFers who might be interested in the info I guess.

Nope, not with the new avatar system. The images are pulled from a database and thus won't work with the image tag. For example:

(I removed the tag to show that he was trying to quote an avatar by using its URL.)
Ah, yeah. I forgot about that. Gotcha.

Just picked up Red Orchestra 2 from GMG for free. It's $27 if you use a voucher, but i got referral monies. I still have another $165, so i will get that new Tomb Raider, Hitman, Football Manager 2012 all for free.

I think he stealth put a referral into Deus EX before anyone realized he did/it was forbidden. In that short period of time, he got a nice boost.

Although considering his bragging pot seems to be continually growing, maybe he has a link on another site that's active.

It's not really a bad deal, though, since both sides get the 5 bucks. I wish my account creation had been done through this. I'm going to have to create another account when I actually buy there, because I want 5 bucks free too. Too bad Evilore doesn't have an official referral program where he gets all the money for anyone who wants to be referred.

That GMG offer isn't too bad, looking at it now.

Thing is I don't think it would ever work for me. None of my friends are really PC gamers and I don't want to be a dick and trick people into referring me.

I'm thinking of pre-ordering rock of ages so atlus hopefully publishes more PC games. Are there any impressions of the game? I'd rather not be stuck with a shit game even if I want to support atlus.

Holy shit. I thought I was doing good with $10. You must tell me your referral farming ways.

EDGE is up. $7.99

I was really hoping for $5, but Two Tribes does good work and they have a demo for it. It looks like this is a very good port to the PC. I'll have to play the demo and see.

Wait, Edge is a Two Tribes game or are they just porting it? They did incredible work on Toki Tori and Rush.

edit: Oh right, Mobigame developed it. Still, Two Tribes doing the porting is a good sign.

A port. But they added levels and visual effects. I quite like it. Controls very well with the 360 pad.

And an update coming later on:

EDGE extended will include the following.
40+ new levels
race against the dark cube
extended soundtrack
all-new achievements

Um, I just want to let people know that you can now access steam chat from

imo.im

Which is pretty fucking amazing for me because previously I couldn't talk to any of my steam friends at work.

Sorry if this is old news.

Played Beat Hazard.
You guys really like this game? It is just a one-screen, low content dual-stick shooter with uneven presentation. And holy crap I think my retinas are seared. Is this game meant to be some sort of epileptic assassination machine? Wow.

The thing I want on sale for Steam is something like an Indie Pick Your Pack.
They do the normal packs store created packs for like 5$, but if you are willing to spend 10$. you can choose which 5 games you want in your pack from all the packs. So if you only wanted 1 game from 3 packs, and 2 from 1pack.

I'd love something like this.
