There was an awesome article where someone basically did that. Not a year, he didn't spend a cent for one month I think. Used free internet time in places to email people begging for shit etc.

A friend of mine in uni had a band that he named after a cookie company, and they sent him a ton of free cookies. I lived with him for a year, and I don't think we ever ran out.

Tell me about it, I played through NOLF2 on Windows 7 last year through sheer force of will. Even starting the game was a gamble, and accessing the menu a second time after loading the game would crash to desktop.

I wish I hadn't been so busy at work today, I would've recommended people steer clear of Section 8: Prejudice, the multiplayer is a ghost town. It's a shame too because based off of my experience with the single player campaign, it looks like the multiplayer would've been a total blast. The sale will probably give the community a slight bump but nothing meaningful if every other niche multiplayer shooter I've played is any indication.

Bloody hell. The GTX 570 I ordered yesterday arrived this morning and I excitedly loaded up The Witcher 2 only to be told the installation is corrupt. I deleted the game, installed the data from the DVDs and moved it to steamapps\common\the witcher 2, which has saved me quite a few gig so far, but it's still going to be a while before I can finally play the damn thing.

After playing around 2 hours of the S8 campaign I can safely say even if you aren't interested in the MP it's definitely worth $4. Competent sci-fi shooter with some cool missions plus jetpacking around is badass.
