Now if only Double Fine would stop messing around and release their stuff on PC. :-(
Yeah, when is the next promo I can abuse? My XBL runs out at the end of this year and I'm down to 6k myself after having 20k+.drizzle said:But you got them abusing promotions, which I sadly never managed to do. Mine are actual money I put there...
I might just buy Red Dead Redemption with them points, now that you can (could?) buy Games on Demand with points. It's not like it's ever coming out on PC anyway... sigh...

Olson also mentioned that a PC release is "to be determined at this point" with publisher Microsoft.

But they weren't published on PC by MS. MS just had the publishing rights for the 360 versions, if it's MS's decision to bring a game to PC, more often than not they don't.JaseC said:You sound surprised. MS typically publish the more prominent XBLA games, such as Braid and Limbo (both of which came to the PC).
Do you have any examples of games with problems with junctions or symlinks? I have a pretty complicated setup -- Steam on an SSD, with steamapps being a junction on a regular HDD so most of my games are on it, except TF2 which I have on the SSD (using symlinks and a junction). I haven't had any problems with it yet.FlyinJ said:Has there ever been any word from Valve regarding the client utilizing multiple drives? I know you can make "virtual links" (which don't work for some games, and make uninstallation a bit dodgy on others)

MS requires a publisher on XBLA. They normally take up indies titles for exclusivity, in exchange for a larger cut, advertising, etc.SalsaShark said:Microsoft publishing??

After a certain amount of time, they are allowed to push it on PC. And in some cases, PS3. But creators need to find their own publishers then. MS only publishes it for their own system.

I've had zero trouble with TF2, and I just tried out HL2 -- that worked fine as well.FlyinJ said:I've heard that all the Valve games won't function correctly with a junction.
In theory junctions should be transparent, so I'm not sure why that would happen..Also, if you junction a game and have the Steam client "remove local data", it gets problematic on some games if you then re-download them.
KaiserBecks said:Sooooo, is Morrowind still worth playing? I know that sounds kind of insolent, but we're talking about putting 60+ hours into a game that's almost 10 years old. Is there some kind of "complete" Mod? Does it support widescreen? I'm really tempted, but I'm not going to buy it if I'll have to put hours of modding into it before I actually get to play the game.
It's comparable to Amnesia. It has no HUD. For quite a long a time you don't have a weapon. As your character gets wounded, he starts to limp, there's blood on the screen etc. Healing him takes place in real time, during which you are vulnerable. When you see scary things, your vision starts to blur, you hear voices, and in really bad cases your character goes insane and kills himself.GuiltybyAssociation said:Sell me on this Call of Cthulu. The combat is good enough. Weapons feel like they have weight, you have to aim down the sights of course. But this game isn't about the shooting, of which there's little.
I think the atmosphere in this is stellar. It's probably not as scary as Amnesia, but the game is more epic. You see some HUGE creatures. Overall, it's quite an odyssey I'd say.

If anybody was curious enough about the game to read this far and PROMISES to actually play it within 7 days, they can tell me their Steam user name. I shall give away one copy of Call of Cthulhu.

Dammit. That was my one hope to get into Torchlight 2. I'm rationalizing the 15bucks off the preorder so Rage is 45 and the Quakecon pack is still 69 just to make myself feelbetter after I swore off 60 Digital Preorders. HEHE!
Seems fitting Wolf3d shareware running on a 286 is what convinced me to buy a computer, might as well have all of it on my steamaccount
Audio? Might be the footsteps.Buttonbasher said:So my Fallout New Vegas stutters like nobody's business whenever my character walks. Framerate bouncing around from 15-45 randomly. When I jump the problem goes away, but whenever I walk on the ground it starts up again. I've tried lowering every setting, various .ini 'iFPS=60' tweaks, and the Fallout New Vegas Stutter Remover, all without result. Verifying my Game cache didn't do anything either. I was able to run Oblivion and Fallout 3 just fine, so this is extra strange. Most of the fixes out there are for minor framerate ticks, not this jerky movement.
Any ideas, or should I just jump my way through this 100+ hour game?
