Does anyone else here get pixelated shadows in some games? I notice them in quite a few of my games (most recently Tomb Raider Legend and Underworld) but not in other games, like Witcher 2. Is it a hardware issue or just a port issue?

edit: I should specify it's usually pixelated for character shadows, though every now and then in Just Cause 2 I'll spot some on trees.

Am I alone when I say that I've never played a lag-free game of Brink, even when it says the ping is in the 20s, and even in single player?

Didn't think the earlier reports were accurate. No deal today.
The QuakeCon deals have been coming up a little later, there's not even a daily up yet.

EDIT: I mean, the daily is up, but not the little blue box we get.
EDIT2: Brink is half off, that is the QuakeCon daily no? Tomorrow is the FO deal.

It's a console port issue in that they didn't bother to up the shadow resolution for everything.

More ways to save money by not buying Brink! I hope Fallout NV gets a ridiculous discount so my wallet can cry again.

The individual games haven't been getting further discounts. I imagine it'll be Fallout Collection, FO3 GotY and NV with the DLC so far in a bundle.

EDIT: The old FOs aren't on sale, I doubt the Collection will be included actually.

No, not if it's been 50% off since the quakecon sale started. It certainly is Brink day but the sale shouldn't be considered a daily if it hasn't changed since the start of the sale imo.

They gotta show the hat off on the main page. Wonder if F3/NV will stay the same price tomorrow. Wasn't the Elders Scrolls pack $14.99 yesterday? It's still that price.

They... haven't? :( But but but I don't want to buy BOTH of them, I'll never finish them within this lifetime!

FO3 isn't as long as people make out, I did every quest bar two and all the DLC in like thirty hours if I remember correctly.

Im looking for it but cant find it. I guess they took it down unless someone else see's it.

Oblivion Script Extender works in Steam right? How do I make it so that it will run that rather than the main executable?

Ah you're right. I was just looking at the top sellers and figured it was still there, but clicking it goes to the main page. I guess tomorrow will be a two pack of both games.

I just loaded the game through OMM.

No fucking way unless you did like a speed run or using a guide.

Thanks that's a relief. I notice these things sometimes after going months without and I start thinking it's a hardware issue. You put my mind at ease.

Damn, I want Fallout 3 but I don't want to buy a Fallout Pack. I have no interest in New Vegas right now, besides I prefer to buy a "Complete Edition" when it comes.

Looks like I'll have to wait till the Holiday Sale to get it cheap.

I'm disappointed Rogue Warrior hasn't gotten cheaper. I know I'm gonna think it's a shitty game, but I'm still drawn to it.

I must fight the urge.

*snip*

I played the demo way back when and it was so fantastically awful. Mickey Rourke just says some of the most heinous things I think I've heard from a video game yet, it's hilarious in an Ed Wood Plan 9 From Outer Space, Glenn or Glenda kind of way. Rebellion were trying so hard to make a "mature", dark and gritty game. Since I bought the QuakeCon pack, I now own Rogue Warrior and honestly I've been kind of torn. Do I install and replay the classics, try some of the newer games I got in the pack or do I sit down and see how truly awful Rogue Warrior is? My answer is yes to all of the above, I've installed Final Doom/zDoom, Quake 3 Arena, Hunted: The Demon Forge and am in the process of installing Rogue Warrior.

I should get Camtasia or Blueberry and record the playthrough.

So I messed with Onlive yesterday and the spectating feature is amazing. I'd love to see something like that come to Steam. Also, when in the world are they going to release/reveal big tv mode? It's been like half a year since they announced it.

can anyone recommend a place to get Fallout 3 gamesaves? I already played 3/4 of the game and do not want to replay it from the start.

I didn't do a ton of exploring, but there is no way you completed 5 DLCs + the main game in in 40 less hours than me.
Well I know it was no where near seventy hours. The main story is super short, like literally eight/ten hours. None of the DLC is nearly that long either.

Hmm so apparently OBSE doesnt need to replace the executable when running Steam. How will I know if it runs?

They discount the individual games too just not as much.

If we are talking about FO3, I did all the DLC + the main game with some exploring in 23.9 hours. Also, I had numerous CTD's resulting in lost progress that made me repeat 30mins to an hour sometimes.

Don't know why people are calling BS on StuBurns. The game isn't long, it just has a lot of padded filler.

I did all of the dlc and finished the game in 25 hours. Did a few side quests as well.

It depends on your play style, really. I have 93 hours logged in Fallout 3 and have yet to complete the DLC and still have some main story segments to finish before I can complete the game, although I am pretty close to the end now. I am completing all sidequests on my playthrough.

Some things that have probably padded my time include leaving the game paused to eat and the fact that I like to take in the scenery and listen to the voice acting.

It's running for me when I click on the steam shortcut. I can tell because the mods are working properly.

Man, it took a lot of work setting up Morroblivion, but man is it incredible! A better looking and better playing version of one of the best games of all time, plus you can hop back to a heavily modded Oblivion for added questing fun. Now I just need to pile on more mods.

So from 25 to 250 hours, seems like your mileage my vary.

My only advice is make sure to do the 'Oasis' side quest, best thing in the game, and do Point Lookout last of everything.
