Locking the framerate might have been tolerable (especially after a good sale) had it not been for the v-sync. Come on, if you're not going to allow 60 FPS you could at least get it V-Sync'd.

Vsync is easily fixable, so is the lack of AA. What you cant fix is the crappy controls and the DRM.

There's also a fix for the fps cap out

A game that needs this much external fixing needs some of that good ol steam sale medicine.

Even when forcing vsync and triple buffering with d3doverider the screen tearing is ridiculous, so cross that off your 'easily fixable' list.

What does the little upside down arrow on one of my weapons mean in Metroo 2033?

Also, I'm in the tunnel headed for D6, am I almost finished?

What the hell. At least Bastion made it over fine when it came to the XBLA games.

Without a doubt. The game is worth a buy at <5$ but i think the devs and ubi doesn't deserve money for this amazingly idiotic port

Hmm, i forced vsync and tb through the nvidia control panel and it seems to be fine

I asked for a refund for the copy I purchased through Green Man Gaming, and they said they couldn't refund it but understand my frustrations with the DRM and as a measure of good will instead gave me the full cost of the game back in credit. :)

Their customer service always takes 1-2 days for response (and it's usually when I'm sleeping, given they're based in London), but whenever they do respond, it's with the utmost class and respectability. Very happy dealing with them.

Et tu, brutus

another Ubisoft delayed game? (game came out in April to PSN/XBL)

Might & Magic Clash of Heroes

Might & Magic Clash of Heroes takes place 40 years before the Heroes V saga. Scattered across five different regions of Ashan, five special heroes must travel their own dangerous paths to grow in strength, unravel a demonic plot, and ultimately save the world from Chaos.

it has STEAMWORKS + co-op 2-4 players so that's great, love the art style as well, kinda looks like a space invaders/final fantasy/zelda hybrid, probably will get it.

I'm reinstalling my computer with win 7 64-bit and a new graphics card, Gigabyte GTX460.
Are there any games that I might have problems with, DRM and such, when I reinstall Steam and games again?

Should I do anything in Steam before removing it, formatting C: and installing W7?

only games with securom may have a problem. you should be fine to go.

I would get into the habit of a OS partition(if you only have a large drive) and install all steam games on D:\. If you do that you won't have to touch the Steam folder(and most other games) when you format and you won't have to re-download everything.

Lost Coast and Deathmatch require assets from Half-Life 2. Things like guns, sounds, barrels, and textures. Instead of downloading the same things multiple times for Lost Coast, Deathmatch, and Half-Life 2, it will just download these files once (as Half-Life 2) and use them for the games that need them. I think.

Correct, and this would've been my answer as well, if it wouldn't have been for him saying that it started AFTER he exited the games. All dependencies are downloaded before you start it, for obvious reasons. Could it be however that his Lost Coast and Deathmatch had downloaded enough of the gfc's and then continued with HL2 to finish up? Maybe, another guess of mine is that he might be new to Steam and it might've been a sync instead. Still, unless you're bandwidth capped HL2 isn't that big and should hopefully not be that big of a hassle.

I see, well, I couldn't resist the temptation of having HF2 preloaded and not be able to play it so I purchased The Orange Box :D

I have a 300gb HDD where I will install W7.

I will try to move my Steam games to another HDD which is partitioned into two with 349gb each and will use one of them for steam.

I have had no such issue during my entire playthrough of the game. I enforce it through the Nvidia drivers though. Also, I have not installed the latest driver, but have kept the previous one installed.

Maybe D3doverider just doesn't play nice with the DRM?

Any info? Gamepad support?

No it wouldn't work well with a pad since you have to use the mouse to manipulate things.

It's a side scrolling rpg with a lot of puzzle elements. I got it a couple years ago and really enjoyed it.

So I'm sitting here playing account sign-in/log-in roulette in From Dust's Uplay log-in dialogue because I can't remember if I have ever created a Uplay account before but all of my usual user names are in play, turns out I have one that I don't remember making. I should just automatically use the forgotten password option for all of these stupid publisher and developer centric log-in things.

Someone is even using jaundicejuice which is a horrible name I only use out of sheer laziness, no one ever uses this (I wonder why) and should probably get it changed here

Is Hydrophobia supposed to be unoptimized or something? It wasn't exactly the type of game I expected to drop to 20-30 fps somewhat frequently.

Store page makes no mention of Ubi DRM, so I might double dip.

It's NOT a space invaders/final fantasy/zelda hybrid. It players like an odd hybrid of a turn based strategy game (like a Heroes of M&M) and Bejewelled/match-3 gameplay. Your troops get sort of randomly distributed, and you can move them around to try and form vertical lines to attack the enemy, or horizontal lines to defend against enemy attacks. The mechanic is super clever, the troops have varying abilities and utility, and it's just great, great fun.

I'll be getting it for sure. Never finished the DS version.

Wasnt a big fan of how youd change protagonists during the story. I was leveling up some guy and got a nice flow of combat with him, and all of the sudden i was this girl elf on level 1 and had to start all over again :/ granted, they had different abilities, but that particular mechanic never clicked with me, but its worth another shot.

M&M looks awesome, but I feel a bit reluctant to trust Ubisoft when they say that it has no UPlay after From Dust.

Yeah, we need that dude from Capybara to come in here and give us the lowdown. I like Capybara but I'm not falling for another shoddy Ubisoft port again.

Aztaca gets my thumbs up. Basically a 2D Sidescrolling Action RPG. There seems to be quite some skill involved to get through the levels later. Its also quite beautiful, and got loot. But not the Diablo kind of loot everywhere, more loot you actually need to work for, which are basically mini puzzles. The side quests are also puzzles where you need to use your skills to accomplish them. Those were in the demo rather simple, but with quite a few different skills and 4 different kind of energies (if I am not mistaken) there are quite some possibilities for the game to unfold.

Definitely recommended for 3,33.

Being unoptimised is unfortunately the best thing about Hydrophobia. That game is hot mess of shit.

I'm a bit through act 2 and it's an ok game I guess. The water effects are really nice but everything else is pretty average. I mean I bought it for like $3 when it was on sale a while back so for the price it's not completely awful. I was just wondering why it ran like shit when I can play witcher 2 on mostly ultra at a pretty consistent 40 fps.

Man if you are a fan of puzzle games or strategy games at all then you need to buy Clash of Heroes. The core combat is one of the most addicting awesome systems released this generation.
