The photoshop thing might be because the colour reproduction is kinda crappy, if you are doing some design I'd say an IPS monitor is a must.

All I really want is for Double Fine to rip GFWL out of Iron Brigade and stick in Steamworks support so I can keep playing that with my pals. Still waiting on Microsoft to give them "permission" to do so.
Imo, Killer 7 was the best. NMH had a great charm and artstyle about it and it played to the Wiimote's strengths well, I consider SoTD one of the most original and funniest TPS of last gen, also best shooting mechanics aside from Vanquish (Mikami was Exec Producer sooo...), guns all felt good to use and had great upgrades and really original organic feeling to a lot of them. Although the Big Boner sequence was pretty dumb. Plus, the OST to Shadows of the Damned was just awesome! All music by the Silent Hill composer.

Haha, yeah, unfortunately I have a hard time parting with $39 if the money is not going to go towards increase my game count.

Gfwl was so glitchy in that game for my friends and I. I would definitely give it another shot with steamworks especially since I want to 100% all DF achievements.

That's what I did last year, I thought I'll play them all (lol) and I bought them all (strategy games), I've played several hours of may be 5 or 6 of them, couple of months of Civ5 and haven't touched the rest. I could have bought only Civ 5 and be done with it.
Seriously, back in the day we were smart enough to stick to couple franchises, maybe 3 or 4 at most, but that was before steam. Steam defies common sense. (><)

It might be that strategy genres aren't popular that much, because of required time investment. Now, when we get that many games each day, who wants to invest hundreds of hours in one?

The only case I'm aware of where an original release was superseded but the DLC was left available for existing owners is... Settlers 7. If the original Metro releases are yanked from Steam then you'd likely have to quickly snap up the DLC from a different store.
Bulletstorm's sudden reappearance also leads me to believe that GFWL's shutdown date has been pushed back. Hopefully Sega follows suit so I can buy a copy of Stormrise that actually works.

Yes, but not from Steam. You will need to find a store which sells game codes for said DLC, like Amazon.
