Yup. Messed with me pretty good. What little I managed to see is practically stuck in my head ever since. The positive things is that fads like 2 girls 1 cup, pain olympics and shit only manage to get a raised eyebrow from me. That other shit was fucking malevolent. There was ill intent behind it and that made it worse.
Tell me about that.
I often read that term on, say, Encyclopaedia Dramatica but I never knew what it's about.
Slicing below the dudes belt..

Yikes. That's already enough, I guess...
Looks like refbatch made a new Youtube account earlier this year:
http://www.youtube.com/user/refbatchrefbatch/videos
Her old videos (thousands upon thousands of them) seem to be gone though, which is unfortunate. Her... decline was pretty fascinating to watch. The first comment on her first video was "You were human, once."

Heck if I know. As far as I could tell, even Russian commenters were stumped.Übermatik;44121677 said:What the hell is she even talking about? First video I clicked had no audio, second she was outside and barely talking... what's her agenda? She sounded paranoid...
I fully believe you.
The worst I saw was a gif from a video on /b/ (I sure as hell don't go there anymore sicne then) which involved a noose, a nude woman and the worst kind of autoerotic asphyxiation
I'm so happy I never went to rotten.com (please don't go there, it's horribly horribly NSFW) and only heard stories about what can be seen on the site (mostly gore).

At least now I've seen some of the darker sides of the internet, I only want to stay here in the clearer side. Now I know what's out here and my curiosity has been fulfilled, I'm happy to leave it behind me now. Unless, of course, I get wind of something new...
Ha, this takes me back. I remember when a friend and I came across this stuff about 10 years ago and called their store just to see if they were really selling a product and that it wasn't just a joke website. This was the first weirdest things I stumbled on waaaay back,
http://www.alexchiu.com/
ALEX CHIU'S IMMORTALITY DEVICE
where do i start...
Last night I downloaded TOR 3 times. Cancelled the installation at around 50% each time.
Not sure if want. I'm scared of the deep web but i'm intrigued...
Anyone posted this yet?

What kind of research papers are there anyway? Is it like grotesque human experiments?
"Lemon Party, google it!"
F U whoever mentioned that word to me here. F U to my curiosity for actually googling it.
Haha sounds like it would be the type of paper you'd find on your subscription database except for the leaked stuff.Übermatik;44123724 said:Dunno?
Hm, I was kind of like that first time - well, I didn't download it 3 times haha, but I left it there on my desktop for ages before trying it out.
Don't worry about getting into trouble... I mean, USING TOR is legal - just depends what you do whilst you're on it. It's near enough anonymous too, and even if you get caught, the law isn't going to waste their time looking for someone who stumbled onto a drugs marketplace if he didn't buy anything, know what I mean?
Just have a look around - it's really interesting. Go visit SilkRoad - it's interesting, not just for the drugs, but for the other things people sell too. Then check out a forum somewhere, read the hidden wiki... just avoid the obvious things - they're usually pretty well advertised. Like I said earlier in the thread, I wouldn't click anything with 'chan' or 'CP' in the name, just as a heads up.
That almost crashed my browser for some reason... I like how it prompts you to become his friend too.
Noooo. Well, yes, if you look for that kind, but the ones you'll stumble upon will be legitimate scientific/mathematical documents, ranging form anything to everything.
Some research papers are on national history, others on the complex workings of scientific equipment... actually, the most interesting one I found was a document detailing components of a nuclear reactor.
Come to think of it, it might have been illegal or leaked or something... I dunno. But yeah, it all depends where you look. I'm sure there's gross stuff out there somewhere, describing autopsies or whatever.
Haha sounds like it would be the type of paper you'd find on your subscription database except for the leaked stuff.
I actually downloaded tor back in the day in high school to get past the school internet filters.
so wait, is this hidden web thing illegal? im a curious guy and--- im curious. :| obviously not wanting to look at some jailbait whatnot. i just wanna see the actual 'hidden wiki' webpage.
but im literally scared. you guys are making it sound like its a gateway to hell.
and what are these "dark" "horrible" unimaginable" things? the DARKEST thing i can think of are like.. child porn and maybe murder videos. but ive seen murder videos. if theres anything darker than child porn, then.. wow. :|
There's nothing you'll see that isn't possible to see on /b/.
And Tor is very much legal. You can thank the U.S. Navy for its existence, in fact. It's simply a way to get closer to anonymity and to provide access hidden resource content that standard browsers and indexing doesn't see. It's for safe communications and political dissidents.
If you don't already have knowledge of a hidden resource to access, you're going to end up crawling through publicly available stuff. And CP weirdos are the most forthright about spreading their filth around, so a lot of the stuff that you can just find by traveling around from the Hidden Wiki leans in that direction.
Basically the whole point of hidden resources is that you can't just crawl around and explore because that defeats the purpose of the concept.
It's also worth pointing out that people do use Tor to release things anonymously if needed... But after that point you're going to easily find that content on the indexed web.

There's this guy in my town who keeps videotaping people who ride their bikes in one-way lanes.

Wrap your head around that.

Übermatik;44125311 said:This is a valid point - you're not gonna find a great deal of things just navigating certain 'surface' sites, so you should be fine and protected from some of the more gruesome things.
You have to be careful summing TOR up, because in one instance, it's home to a lot of strange people who post whatever they desire.
But on the other hand, it's not the height of anonymity or the definitive index of secretive/illegal behaviour - people that are truly concerned about concealing their identity, or wish to engage in other, more serious illegal activities (such as mass fraud, criminal networks, trafficking, digital attacks) will use far more sophisticated and 'professional' systems. TOR's like a middle ground - probably only a quarter of the way down, actually, if you think of the 'internet' like a deep lake.
man this is interesting. can i get viruses on my mac? haha!
I don't think what happened to your pal is what happens if you do the bitcoin thing + silk road. I have never done it but I don't think what you said there in bold is accurate. That can't be real. If it's real why hasn't anyone reported that to the feds?
Anyways, I've been on the Silk Road, it's not hard to get too. Only an idiot buys from there, you either A. get scammed or B. get arrested, and the general community is made up of idiots barely literate teens who think they're "gangster and cool" for being on there.
in HS our local pot dealer was on there, and he would for those in the "know" tell us how to get there and guy the "good stuff" for cheaper. it wasn't cheaper nor was it good, he just wanted to be cool. He ended up getting arrested because he's an idiot.

stuff about facial abuse
Good God awesome thread. Subscribed.
Trying not to ruin the spirit of the thread by getting derailed looking at these awesome links before posting my own, but any kind of description with your links is appreciated. Like, globalmove.us is an art project more or less, I had to research that a bit since the marker started in the south pacific near Pitairn and then went bananas.
Mine are:
Efukt.com
A bunch of stuff, but most importantly, porn accidents. Wherein women accidentally shit themselves during anal scenes, and other stuff, all of it is more or less painful to watch for one reason or another. Also found there is the soul-wrecking "Trolling of Wannabe Porn Stars" from the wonderful assholes at FacialAbuse which after further consideration is the 2nd most upsetting non-violent series of videos I have ever seen in my 15 or so years of Web use. Those poor girls. Getting called fat & ugly, before, during & after sex is obviously something that a few of them are clearly not expecting it, are deeply hurt by it, and may never get over it. Especially when you factor in the fact that women typically need at least some level of emotion connection before sex (sex wherein they're brutally skull fucked till they vomit, while being slapped etc, called fat, ugly, etc, as I said before). Maybe they love it. Maybe some do. Not all those girls though. And now those are all over the internet in a fairly famous series of videos. Quite honestly I wonder how the guys over there can step out of their offices and not have their faces pounded into lunch meat or worse. I feel terrible for those girls. Porn girls or not. That shit is awful and seriously not for the faint of heart because those videos really depress me. I don't know why but for some reason those hit me hard and I found them to be truly strange. I feel like that sort of stuff is horrible for the porn industry because if I can't stomach it, then fuck. I mean I'm an old hand at this and that stuff seriously smudged my soul.
FuckedCompany.com (the message board, actually)
First place on the internet that I saw what I considered to be actual anonymous posts on any message board. Also where I saw the first real mocking of the U.S, jeering, "take that USA comments", RIGHT after 9/11. Days after. Also where I saw unbridled open racism and stuff after 9/11. Plus a whole bunch of other weird stuff.
I don't think what happened to your pal is what happens if you do the bitcoin thing + silk road. I have never done it but I don't think what you said there in bold is accurate.
Also theync.com (if it hasn't been mentioned). It's literally one of the worst places I've ever been on the internet. I go there every once in a while. I like to be reminded how fucked up this world can be at times.
Übermatik;44131208 said:What is it? I'd rather not go without a description.
Basically a "look at 10 video thumbnails of mangled faces until you see a video you actually want to see with some sweet titties or ass" site.
And those are the paid sections.
But yea it's basically a bunch of horrible vids capturing terrible accidents and such. It's like when you hear about a women getting stoned to death or a man getting burned alive on the news. That site usually has the footage. Watched a video of a man burning alive once. Slowly. There was even a close up of him at the end.
I do, I understand. But I don't get how they would pay. I can however empathize with why they look at at stuff. Because I will look at, click on, anything. My eyes are a petri dish of bizarre & awful. Which is why this thread is my new BFF.Übermatik;44132076 said:See I don't get how people get a kick out of watching these - it's a bizarre obsession that I can't quite comprehend - whenever I see a similar video, I just feel a bit disgusted and move on.
