Public domains that display seemingly useless data, random strings of numbers, but remain active. Even better, government or unknown subdomains, that aren't indexed but have content - but again, indecipherable or confusing... I love it.
Nevermind, that Mai Chan babyfuck thing is pretty odd
Uber, thanks for the replies, I love to read these kind of things, however, I do want you to be careful, last thing anyone would want is you getting arrested or something because of this. I know I might be paranoid, but you never know.
Yeah, I just had a daughter
I fear for her sanity and innocence in the future. I can't shelter her from all this weird shit, no matter how hard I try.
I knew I'd regret ever reading this thread sooner or later
I'm left with an overwhelming sense of darkness right now and the idea that the internet dark side is probably a cancerous part of society being allowed to grow unmonitored.
That shayesaintjohn website. I heard that the guy that played her died years ago though
After several googling attempts, I finally managed to find this story thanks to the following search:One of the creepiest is this one where this guy found an old picture hidden in his room. It was from the 60s or 70s and showed a boy dressed in womens clothes looking scared. i think it was from a poster on GAF. IIRC, the story that the poster dug up was that a neighbors kid went missing years ago. Its probably still in the Creepy Story thread but i dont have time to search for it right now.

Oh god, this guy. I remember seeing one of his videos awhile back and it really creeped me out. I think it was the pure obscurity of the video that really made me uncomfortable.

WTF is Assembly Programmers Guild and why do they hide on the fourth level?
That story has urban legend written all over. Neighbour is an ex-FBI agent? Was the call coming from upstairs too?!
Still I'd like to see the pic!

Urgh, I got a headache just looking at that for a few moments. That's one ugly page.

I remember a news story about two scumbag teenagers apparently just messing about, ran passed a woman, grabbed her newborn and threw it in front of a bus.Mai-chan is pretty tame when you've gone deeper. It's only drawn gore porn and , well, raping a baby and throwing it in a blender. But still only drawn. There's so much fucked up stuff that's actually real.
I like this thread very much, since I'm pretty interested in the "weird" side of the internet.
But alas, I'm a huge pussy. I'm scared to click these links.
That's why I ask, could you guys maybe give a short exlpanaition about what's behind those links? I'm really curious, but my scaredyness is bigger than my curiosity, sadly

Ninja Turtles video on youtube.
Those who visited the now-closed Russian Naked dancing guy know exactly what I'm talking about.
Just lettin everyone know I'm having the most difficult time in my life right now trying to prevent myself from clicking any links.
I mean, I've seen some shit before, but I don't know if I want to see anymore......
.....BUT, MAN, JUST ONE LOOK??? RRRRRRRRGH
This deep web stuff is interesting as hell.
Though I probably wouldn't bother going into it.
This was back in 1999. I was working at an internet cafe which was heaven because it meant we had unlimited access to a blazing fast double ISDN line. So one night as we were closing up we set up a spider at one of the machines, point it to a porn picture post site, set the link depth to unlimited and leave it running overnight to see how much porn we could download.
What we didn't know was that back then a major way to hide illegal stuff was the simple trick of coloring the link the same as the background and putting it at a corner of the page. The spider didn't give a damn so it went down the rabbit hole.
Let's say that after looking horrified at what we had found before deleting them and formatting the disk I am much more likely to believe stories about the various soul-crushing stuff that are online. Probably a month passed before I was able to get an erection again.

I saw it as an adventure, an opportunity more than anything. I don't regret getting there - though I have seen some bad things - but above all it's given me a better perspective on the internet.
