Yall trippin. Y don't ppl want 2 things? We already have GC ww and PC ww is HD. So why Wud we want that again? It ain't goin anywhere. Let Nintendo do crazy shit wit dis and chill.
Loved WW's graphics at first sight. best in the series IMO.
Bought it along a Panasonic Q and a Sharp LCD TV. Spent 4000 for that setup.
Now I own a 1080p videoprojector and 5.1 surround system.
So I should be happy, right. Got love me some HDR . But on my previous setup the game was new, fresh, bold if not for everyone.
Since that time it's had two sequels.
And I want dem pretty graphics I can fire some Skyrim + mods right now.
So come on...this remake is Nintendo putting the middle finger to my face while making me remember it's given me great pleasure before and might possibly do so in the future. But for now they treat me like a bitch.
And this remake is a great looking girl looking at the ceiling while you fuck her.
So, yeah sex is good and I'm happy for those happy to get WWHD, but I'm not the kinda guy who fucks for fucking, even a good looking girl.
Might come back for the true Zelda WiiU, but only if I feel something special. I'm not asking for love. Not for a relationship. But good things are shared. WWHD is just Nintendo taking away my time and money while they try and figure out if the next Zelda should be built for core/hardcore/casual gamers.
So rally me fellow Gaffers and Nintendo Kids.
This is GAF, and Nintendo threatens our memories, they want to take away our next-gen, they want to collect our money and enslave us.
Let's throw them down the Pit. Maybe Yamaguchi will come back from ruling Hell and get them to actually care for grown up guys who are neither casual Dads nor Brownies.
I'm not Nintendo's bitch. I was. But I was young and thought the feeling was mutual. i've learned my lesson.
Soooooo... they're just going to put it in 1080p then, won't they?
It better not be 60$ if that's the case.
As much as I agree with your post (I think), please get a dictionairy, bro. Learn some proper writing and grammar; your posts are extremely hard to read.

I think the bloom is genuinely bad looking.
Yall trippin. Y don't ppl want 2 things? We already have GC ww and PC ww is HD. So why Wud we want that again? It ain't goin anywhere. Let Nintendo do crazy shit wit dis and chill.
No, it's a remake, not just a straight port. It's been said a few times already.
I think is a little too much, and I need to see it in motion to actually start to judge.
And in defense of the bloom, try go to the beach and see if everything are toned down? It is not, the sun is as bright as ever, so even if it's a little to much on the island shots, it's still justifiable cause it's kinda tropical.
But hey the bloom is so bad that the whole graphics are lame cause of that right?
I have never been to a beach where blue blooms from behind everything.
Source?
Nintendo!
Link, please.
NO ONE SHOULD GIVE A FUCK!!!
Jesus, fellers, it's fucking daft in this thread.
Most of us played WW on the GC and that was that, play it on the GC again if you want but just because this remake looks different (which is, by and large, the fucking point in making it) you act like it has no right to exist.
New gamers who haven't played WW before will not go out and buy a GC and an old copy of WW to play the game, they just won't play it if not for this remake. I think it's better that younger gamers have a chance to play this game, even if it means that it doesn't look exactly like it looked 10 years ago, than not.
It's a good game, let them enjoy it, the change in graphical style means NOTHING to these newer and younger gamers, but the utter outrage expressed on this forum is fucking comical. You've had your Wind Waker experience and now it's time for newer gamers to enjoy it. Let it go.
EYEBROWS!!! Get some perspective folks.
Well "bloom" certainly looks to be one of the key new buzzwords of 2013 Gaming.
Youre the only one outraged.
Youre the only one outraged.
We've been reading a different thread.Youre the only one outraged.
You didn't make the colors grotesque enough
Nope, you're categorically wrong.

I think the bloom is genuinely bad looking.
Errr... ?Game character models-in HD have an uncanny resemblance to the CG 3D models used in Tintin: The Movie
I think complaints about the bloom are genuinely and childishly exaggerated.
Yeah right...
No. You people lambasting this new game just because of the updated lighting and apparent lack of cel-shading are bitching for nothing. The GameCube game is not going to fade out of existence because of the remake's release. Just play it on Dolphin if it's so fucking perfect already.
We've been reading a different thread.
Calling me "ignorant" and discussing an inability to have the same opinion as another in the same sentence is pretty hysterical. Do you know what a strawman fallacy is? Do you know what an irrelevant conclusion is? I've only stated I saw no issues with the change in art style, and I realize the difference in opinion comes down to personal preference. But that's exactly what it is; personal preference. I've also only added my intuition that the criticism of bloom is exaggerated (to insinuate that it's "blinding", as many have been doing, is quite plainly untrue to me), I've said nothing of anyone's opinion of bloom itself even though I was adding to a quote from someone who personally felt it was bad-looking. If you were capable of fully and intimately understanding why I subjectively enjoy and appreciate the art style, you wouldn't have the opinion you do now. And the same rule applies to me.I think your inability to see how anyone could be unhappy with this change in art style is ignorant.
Ironically, rarely anyone seems to complain about these visual effects in games like Shadow of the Colossus (which, by the way, implements it far more than these pre-release screenshots). It's called a stylistic choice. If Okami HD stripped all cel-shading from the game and in its place put in a bunch of bloom and other cheesy realism lighting effects and filters into the game, would you be absolutely, 100%, perfectly okay with it?
I did not say you were incapable of having the same opinion as someone else. From your post and from posts by others people seem to completely write off complaints about a change in art style, particularly with the heavy bloom lighting, one of the largest changes present. With how heavy it is, I can't see how so many people can not understand why some would be upset. The bloom is heavy. Please find some examples of bloom being used like this in a professionally developed game, in a broad-daylight scene. It should only ever be used at times like dusk, or when you're actually near an incredibly bright light source such as magma, and even then it is not usually that heavy.Calling me "ignorant" and discussing an inability to have the same opinion as another in the same sentence is pretty hysterical.
"I think complaints about the bloom are genuinely and childishly exaggerated" says a bit more than "I think your criticism of bloom is exaggerated." 'Childishly' implies that the person 'complaining' is himself being childish. Calling someone childish doesn't sound like a respect for personal preference, so no, I definitely did not get that vibe when reading that post.Do you know what a strawman fallacy is? It's like you're really a child.
Bloom and other visual effects are not evil. They have their place. But they weren't a part of what defined the art style of Wind Waker, or Okami, and are quite contradictory to what the original art styles of those games were trying to accomplish.Ironically, rarely anyone seems to complain about these visual effects in games like Shadow of the Colossus. Some people understand...though few it seems. For fucks sake people! Use your heads!
You know who created the wonderful art in wind waker (and the rest of the gorgeous 3d Zeldas after it)? The same people that are making this remake. They can handle it. They have good artists. Some of you sound like they will somehow release a hideous looking straight to dvd Disney movie sequel style of ugly remaster of one of their crowning achievements all of a sudden. Think about it for a second.
How about we wait till we see some more?
What? Please find some examples of bloom being used like this in a professionally developed game, in a broad-daylight scene. It should only ever be used at times like dusk, or when you're actually near an incredibly bright light source such as magma, and even then it is not usually that heavy.
I was not addressing someone's dislike of bloom, I was simply referencing some of the rather absurd replies about bloom in this thread. You only have to skim to see them. You misunderstand exactly what I'm disputing."I think complaints about the bloom are genuinely and childishly exaggerated" says a bit more than "I think your criticism of bloom is exaggerated." 'Childishly' implies that the person 'complaining' is himself being childish. Calling someone childish doesn't sound like a respect for personal preference, so no, I definitely did not get that vibe when reading that post.
Stop. This isn't Wind Waker for the GC. It's an HD remake, they're perfectly within their rights to modify the art style as they wish.Bloom and other visual effects are not evil. They have their place. They weren't a part of what defined the art style of Wind Waker, or Okami, and are quite contradictory to what the original art styles of those games were trying to accomplish.
You maybe missed the by everyone part... if to kid who has never played and is not into zelda aside this you ask for "the game with the green dude that looks like a cartoon" he immediately will point you to WW, the same with the more navigate gamer
if you want people to recognize this what will you say? what's the zelda with kid link? what one between zelda1 and everyone after since WW?
What's the zelda with the sea? what one between PH and WW?
Oh yeah i have one... What's the Zelda with uberbloom?
But i think i know your problem you actually do not see (or see too much i still don't get it) the graphical qualities of WW
while here you can actually see the depth of the things (you can recognize in where on the Z axis something is)
in the original cartoon style cel shading is a lot harder because looks of course like a cartoon (hence the people who wants the remake "flatter")
this believe it or not it's part of the artstyle and is also an huge part of its charm for a lot of people, remove that and you remove the charm.
I know I'm not a part of this debate, but could you please post a screenshot from a game where the bloom is more intense than these TWW screenshots? In particular the ones where Windfall's grass looks radioactive? I'm trying to think of a scene like that from Uncharted, Crysis 2, etc, where it looked so unnatural. Specifically, I'm looking for screens where a blue broad daylight sky smolders like in these TWW screens. So no sunsets or sunrises. What?
Witcher 2, Oblivion, the Halo series, Crysis 2, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, and Bad Company 2 are all very professionally developed games that utilize the bloom shader effect to such an extent that Wind Waker HD is tame in comparison. This isn't even a fraction of the examples I can come up with. How many games have you played this generation? I'm not attacking you here, I'm asking a serious question.
