I'm more invested in the whole deal because the idea of a world where a small gaggle of clearly troubled people can dictate the contents of a piece of art that I make or enjoy to the point of sanding any edge or point it has sounds abysmal.
Tits are cool, but I've been ruined by porn and weed into needing actual nudity at the very least to get above mildly intrigued. It's easy to find reel ladees online. The last (or somewhere towards the bottom) thing I care about when I'm playing an RPG is bobs and Virginia's.

When people talk about her being ugly, I don't think I've ever seen pictures from the actual game being posted. Just the usual screen from that trailer that had a couple of weird camera angles.100%!! This is what happens when creatives listen to only one side of the crowd and the pendulum moves to far to one side of thought. The western devs will come back to making beautiful women in games again. And keep in mind....they never stopped making attractive men in Western games.
Personally, I think many in these GAF threads are nuts when they say Aloy in HZD: Forbidden West is part of this. She isn't! She looks nice. The others though.....ewww

I agree, I think I would been okay with the whole thing if all they did was asking developers to cut out the over the top lingering on the ass shots, while at the same time left the clearly titillation genre alone (like Rumble Roses or DOA Xtreme Volley). But no they had to go on a power trip where they defined even having attractive females at all as pandering to the "male gaze", where every major female character has to be deliberately made devoid of feminine characteristics and feminine beauty, and imposed that standard on the entire industry, at which point I'm just going to say "fuck you", and go out of my way to support the few developers that still willing to make games and run counter to this ideology.
This is actually a problem with all ideological activists, is that once they win their cause, they don't walk away and do something else, their lives are tied to this activism and they can't stop, so they just move the goalpost and start pushing ever more extreme versions of their activism. (That how you go from "don't be mean to trans people" to "if you don't want a person with male genitalia expose themselves in the locker room to underage girls and also allow them participate and dominate women's sports then you're transphobic".) The reason we have reached the extremes we see now is because the entire industry folded to their demands so fast that they just kept getting more and more extreme without resistance. That's why I support all forms of pushback, because if people fold here who knows what new horrors these wackos are going to come up with next.

I have zero issue with Aloy, or the protagonist of Returnal, or even the goofy looking girl from Fable. Not every character needs to be attractive. Sometimes it’s more interesting if they’re not! Consider how many fantastic character interactions the Song of Ice and Fire books got out of making Tyrion hideously ugly. Sexuality is one variable that goes into a character out of hundreds if not thousands. If anyone genuinely has a problem playing as characters they wouldn’t fuck, I hope to god they stay away from the Mario games.
By that same token, it feels absurd to me that people elsewhere are pretending to be upset about Tifa in a swimsuit. There are metric fucktons of games with un-sexy characters for them to play. If anyone doesn’t want to see anime girls in bikinis, the adult thing to do is acknowledge that maybe the game isn’t for them and move on to something else.
Really, the only issue I have is when any one group of people think they alone should dictate how art gets made. That’s not fighting for a cause; it’s just petty narcissism.

When games/media are being dictated by a comittee. i.e companies that use Sweet Baby Inc. And artists being pressured into designing in a very specific way, thats the problem a lot (like myself) have. Just restricting for the sake of pandering to a very small vocal group isn't healthy for any industry.
And the way people are being treated of late when it comes to politics in entertainment, or lackthereof. When it comes back to neutral grounds.. and when they see a W, they'll take it.

TL;DR: they covered up Tifa's cleavage in her Guide outfit in pre-rendered cutscenes
Technically, it makes sense considering the black sport bra is a part of the outfit in Rebirth (and shitty gacha Ever Crisis), but going back to edit the original's short prerendered cutscenes seems unnecessary because it's like 5 seconds worth of footage in total lol

I'll be honest, chief, I'm not a fan of post-release censorship of offline games. Not that I'm a fan of censorship in any regard, but this type of thing especially chaps my ass. Same as when they retroactively censored Skullgirls like 8 years after the game released.

Nope. She's not as big as Idris Elba but she's still a fairly well-known actress - CDPR wouldn't hire her for such a small role. Those small roles are reserved for Twitch streamers and such.
I'm usually not a fan of it either but I want to believe that their intent was simply to match the design to Crisis Core, Rebirth, and Ever Crisis.
That said, I still find it weird and unnecessary because it really is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment. I've actually been using the Guide outfit in Ever Crisis and didn't even notice there was a difference in the design when I saw the cutscenes in my Remake playthrough over the past week.
