I'd bet money the "from all sides" part of his speech is completely off script. It's the exact moment when he's looking up from the written speech, same with all other insane parts of that speech as well.

lol at republicans that are in shock that the guy that started his campaign with all mexicans are killers won't oppose nazis. Where the fuck have you been the last 2 years?

The guy has and will always be a bigot. You are late to the party ya'll.
It's because they didn't give a fuck. As long as they got a Republican in the Whitehouse, it was all good. He's an idiot? Even better, we can just give him anything. Whether he was qualified or mentally fit was not considered.

Oh look, the idiot man-child is a horrendous leader that regularly bullies even his own party. What a shocker.

I guess at this point we can expect to see less apologizing for Donald Trump on GAF?

"He's not a racist, he's just an idiot" is no longer a valid excuse

It's so frustrating to see that some people are acting like they're just now finally discovering the Trump-Neo Nazi ties.

This shit has been going on under their noses since at least two years, and the alt-right certainly hasn't been shy about it.
I think it's less about not recognizing but subscribing to the idea that being a white nationalist this time would be different than the past. Like Red said, 57% of Americans disapprove of Black Lives Matter.

These people are emboldened. I literally had a coworker ask me if I was a white nationalist, not as an insult but as a "why not" question at work. The way he sees it Americans should be nationalists and white people are white so, I should be a white nationalist. Like him. I've never been asked if I was a white nationalist before.

Now I constantly argue with this guy, he was convinced that this time things would go smoothly, that the lessons of the past have been learned and that this time it would be humane and just. Don't ask me how it'd be just, fuck if I know. Some bullshit about it always being a white country, well after we took it of course they don't like to go further back. Previously I mentioned to him that in history there's never been a nationalist movement around a single color that's turned out well for anyone else, that they're all racist and that even if he himself doesn't mean anyone harm that a good portion of the people he'd associate with that support those same views will in fact mean other people harm and wouldn't settle for whatever his supposed "humane" views on how we white people should stay in power without actually oppressing or harming anyone.

I wonder if he'll see that now. Guess I'll find out when I go into work today.

But seriously, I honestly feel a lot more white people are racist than they admit and I think somehow they think they could do it differently than the actual Nazis did and not go "too far." Fucking fools.

Funny how the muslim ban, drug dealing mexicans, refusal to denounce david duke, never tipped anyone over.

He's both of those things and a whole lot more.

Came here to say this. His speech was prepared for him, he went off script to either blame everyone, or to avoid sounding like be was blaming one group.

Didn't Trump keep a book full of Hitler's speeches bed side? according to an ex wife, it was reported at least...ugh.

He's no idiot, and his hate transcends "ist" and "ism". He's all of that and more, because he apparently has no issue with using crisis, and victims, for his own material and political gain.

He's an idiot when he's standing next to Lex Luthor, put it that way.

It was not. He was making sure to put emphasis on “both sides”, so his KKK base understood he still loves them. With Bannon and Miller on the team, this was 100% calculated.

I was talking more about the mainstream media (who should have known better and didn't take Trump seriously until it was too late) and the endlessly "surprised and concerned" republican establishment.

Honestly, I would try to get that guy fired. I don't know what you do, but I can't imagine a non-white coworker or client being too comfortable around someone with those views.

Absolutely.... he makes a point of saying it twice.

It's ridiculous that we're sitting here with a President that won't condemn terrorism. He's like a ghost when it comes to condemning nazis, white supremacists and ku klux klan terrorists, and the amount of deflection I've seen from apologists makes me sick. That "both sides" rhetoric is absolutely ludicrous when the opposing force are nazi terrorists.

This man is supposed to lead the country and condemn terrorism and terrorists, no matter what ideology they subscribe to. The fact that he isn't just go to show that he is a terrorist sympathiser. That goes for anyone that are defending the scum. You are either with them, or you are with the people that are opposed to it. That "please understand" garbage that they like to spew is not gonna fly.

There are no centrist positions to take when it comes to terrorists. None.

The CEO of Merck resigned from Trump's American Manufacturing Council today, and criticized the response to Charlottesville from the President.

Trump has no problem calling him out:

Now that Ken Frazier of Merck Pharma has resigned from President's Manufacturing Council,he will have more time to LOWER RIPOFF DRUG PRICES!

Still no denouncement of white supremacy.

People that Trump directly targets with harsh criticism:
Muslims
Black people
Immigrants
Democrats
Beauty Pageant winners
Rosie O'Donnell
Former FBI directors
Those in poverty
People that didn't vote for him
People who quit in his administration

People that Trump refuses to directly target with harsh criticism even when asked to do so:
White Supremacists
KKK members
Now-Nazis
Confederates

Trump immediately rips the Merck CEO, seconds after his resignation.

But three days after this:

...he still hasn't come out and completely condemned Neo-Nazis or White Supremacists or White Nationalists. The bullshit "BOTH SIDES" cop out.

He left it to his asshole WH publicists to make a presser statement.

Dont forget Russia and Putin.

I actually cannot believe that this shit is going on in 2017, the world is fucked. HOW can this man be your president?

Because of the racism ingrained in our country and the assholes who didn't vote for Hillary since "she was a lock" and wanted to promote their protest vote. Here's what your fucking protest vote brought us. Hope it was worth it.

If you want lower drug prices, cheeto, go tell the congress to pass patent reform. Your party has the majority.

Probably not as fun as yelling at a black man though.

Sucks at poetry
This is hardly surprising given that Trump is an actual racist himself. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a swastika tattooed underneath his ballsack. These are his people, why would he denounce them? These guys are his friends.

Don't forget all of the progressives who thought that a Trump presidency was the only way to spark a new leftist revolution turning the US into a Socialist utopia.

Ah, we were so innocent back in those days... sigh.

The bullshit "BOTH SIDES" cop out.

Its not a cop out in my opinion. Its a deliberate distortion of the threat level.

By blaming "multiple sides" sides Trump not only ignores the specific actions taken by one side(in this case a terrorist attack with 1 casualty and 19 injured), but he also equates Nazism with BLM, Antifa and generally left wing protestors standing up against racism or for universal healthcare etc.
As if these groups are even remotely in the same category...

This has something of revisionist history, only that its happening in real time for current events.

Trump's twitter feed comments are more and more people that oppose the dude. There are a few bots still trying to fight the fight but overall, I was pleased by the number of people that are calling him out. Hopefully all this won't be forgotten come November 2018.

I was very happy to see a FB friend who I long considered to be a bit too "both sides-y" actually call out Trump for not mentioning white supremacists and neo-nazis. First time I've seen her straight up call him out instead of a "well, I don't necessarily agree with him but..." angle.

I just read that even Sessions called this domestic terrorism. Am I taking crazy pills??
He made a weak excuse for Trump's dodges on the issue, but Sessions did state that this "does meet the definition of domestic terrorism." Amazing how even someone like Sessions had a better statement for this.

This isn't hard. This isn't something you need a second press conference to get right. 3 days later. Whatever he says, it rings hollow.

@DavidWright_CNN

A White House official tells @jeffzeleny the remarks will directly name hate groups and declare: “Racism is evil.”

He'll name hate groups but then say some shit about Antifa or something, saying they're both the same and he'll be sure to put emphasis on the "left protesters" while skirting past white nationalists.

It does come off as hollow when the likely reason he is doing it is because of all the hate thrown his way (and rightfully so).
