Also the complaints about bullet damage being too weak is stupid, it's honestly no different from Uncharted 2' as well.

yeah I know it's not weak, but bullets completely lack stopping power, as simply as that, combined with the insane sprint speed and blindfire+melee combo success you get the perfect recipe for what we've been presented, a terrible game compared to the summer beta.

So I probably had the funnest time playing a couple of matches with Duffyside tonight. We mainly played Team Objective, and won some/lost some but the other group we were playing against we just such nice people that it made the entire experience that much more enjoyable. No trash talking, just a bunch of friendly gamers.
That happened to me as well where we were actually joking with each other about breaking necks and how the guys with mics could have a treaty and go after the micless people. All just pointless, stupid fun which makes the game that much more enjoyable. Laughing over funny deaths and funny opponents is a lot better than listening to some douchenozzles think they're better than everyone else and use the stereotypical insults.

I just need to find some people to party up with now since my main group of friends are overseas.

I think Cheska's onto something here with how to make this game super-enjoyable for everyone: Play with me. I am fun and awesome.

Cheska's pretty rad too.

I wonder if they're holding any maps back that might be spoilers based on surprise locations. I really want to see another place that blows me away, but I imagine SP will help me out there. I just think it'd be cool to have some really unique MP maps since I was a big fan of the last few areas of U2.

Everyone quick, find out where Duffy lives so we can force him to play the game 24/7! Then, since everyone will be having fun, these complaints will cease to exist.

Haven't noticed those problems in the 5 or so matches I just played.

No fun you!

I'd be down to play sometime with a good group.

Recently I tried Uncharted 2 and was STUNNED how nice of a community it was. Even the people I killed would compliment my kills. I'm like, WHAT WORLD AM I IN!?

Oh Bear you! Why didn't you ask for an invite? Shoot me a message next time I'm on and you want to play!

Those people haven't moved on to UC3 yet, apparently.

Weird, I know the promo isn't available in Canada but I see Canadians on my PSN list playing the demo.

They probably got one of their US friends to get them a code. Or bought one on eBay.

This promotion has backfired on Naughty Dog. Think about it. They release this awesome fun beta and everyone loves it. They announce that the full multiplayer will be available through the Subway promotion and everyone gets excited. We're kept in the dark with how the promotion will work and we didn't get details (from ND) until the promotion started. We then find out that it's not the full multiplayer and to put it lightly, it's like another beta. However, this version plays much differently from the original beta that those people who were looking forward to it are disappointed by some of the changes ND made. People who didn't get a chance to participate in the beta now have a 50/50 chance of liking it or hating it.

Yup, just a fun game to play with very little stress and where close games actually made it exciting for both sides with no trash talking except for obvious jokes and we'd say good game at the end like all gamers used to do back when console online gaming was new like on SOCOM. There's just something about this game where it's all about fun rather than dealing with morons. I do run into a party from time to time that's filled with obnoxious people with the usual stereotypes and slurs being thrown around, but this game is tame compared to every other game.

Maybe that's another reason I like the game. That and it's one of those games where if you had a good time with someone, you'd immediately party up and then play that game together in the future. Just a friendly community all around.

...friendly until someone busts out the RPG that is. lol

I thought it was no longer than 4... hmm, I knew the timer was more lenient than in UC2, but didn't think it was THAT lenient.

It's ridiculously long, like, 30 seconds it seems.

In almost a year of playing U2 I never got a Five Not Alive legitimately (I was gypped out of about 4 though), by the end of the U3 beta I had 7 or 8 of them.

Kaiken said:
Extinction is when you kill 5 consecutively I believe. The Five not alive is when you kill everyone on the opposing team at least once.

*quoted the wrong cat.

Five Not Alive is 5 kills in quick (lol) succession, Extinction is killing every member of the enemy team 3 times each.

duffyside said:
As much as everyone loved Jak (and Crash?) and the first Uncharted, U2 was clearly on a whole other level of awesome. Perhaps the best game this generation, and people were feeling that Naughty Dog had come into their own.

But... what if it was a fluke? When I thought of U3 in the past, I thought to myself "there's no way they can top the feeling U2 had when it came out, or even match it." I would be more than satisfied if U3 were to U2 what Majora's Mask was to Ocarina.

But what if it's more like U3:U2 :: Mario Sunshine:Mario 64?

The multiplayer was definitely a fluke as evidenced by the moronic 1.05 patch and now, U3 MP.

daxter01 said:
fleet foot :( why ND why ?

Well, of course they have to keep it, otherwise 95% of the U2 players will have no idea how to play the game.

To the few people defending sprint -- you still haven't given a SINGLE reason why the game is better with it. The movement mechanic in this game was unique, and it was about traversal. If you were a skilled enough player, you could already duck behind cover, dive with circle, or traverse the environment.

Sprint is so faulty because it instigates more nerds circle strafing and blind-firing, completely obliterating the core cover and traversal mechanics.

UGH the game is really starting to fill up with people that treat Team Objective like is TDM with extra icons to ignore. The COD types already ruined Halo Reach and Killzone 3, I hope this is not next.

Just thought I'd test the youtube upload feature and show something: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Dmx0-ii2PY
I call in my RPG kickback and switch to my pistol for some reason, is this happening to anyone in else? It's happened to me a few times and I don't think I'm accidentally hitting the left button. Then when I fire it into the group of 3-4 guys it does nothing. In cinema mode it exploded but when I was playing it just got swallowed by the ground.

The upload feature is quite good, pity that you can't upload in higher res. Does anyone know what the length limit for videos is?
Happening to me too many times. Also, sometimes the RPG round doesn't do a thing. I press the trigger, hear the swoosh, see the smoke trail but no explosion, no damage. That didn't happen in the beta, actually I don't remember any frequent glitches happening in the beta.

I am also noticing the crazy increase in people trying to roll away from fights and drop grenades. Was this not even possible in the beta or are there just more assholes playing this time? I never saw it at all in the beta.

I like being able to get to the action quicker. And what reason is needed for saying why people like the game having a faster pace? Your only reason seems to be "this isn't the way it used to be." What if the game moved slower? Would you think that was amazing because it even more emphasized rolling, ducking, climbing, whatever? Did ND find the perfect pace for their game last time, by some miracle of luck?

Or could it be that you just don't like it because it's different from what you're used to? Game's faster, but guess what: you can still duck, and cover, and climb. And know what else? Climbing is way better now; it increases your chances of getting away, whereas before I felt like I was screwed and people were just going to plunk me in the back as soon as I got on a wall.

Game's not perfect, I hope some of the changes people are asking for do get implemented just a bit, but I like my sprint. People got used to it in the beta too; seems to me the "few people" barking about sprint are those of you who can't let go that it's in the game, even though the rest of us have moved on to more important matters... like how awesome I am to play with.

I'm just going to skip over the typical 'you can't deal with change' bs (though I will mention I like kickbacks, I like the new boosters, and I like the powerplays...happy now?), and move on to the point that sprint is clearly adding to the 'melee + blind-fire' madness. If you honestly don't think that, you're either not playing the same game as I am, or you're one of those people who is playing the game that way.

Melee plus blind-fire plus sprint wins out over cover and aiming down the sights ALMOST EVERY TIME. There is no balance to it the way it is now, and slowing the game down would remove a lot of these idiots blazing through the map at super high-speeds and never actually AIMING their weapons.

It's honestly not a question of styles or skillsets -- it's a question of one style taking skill, and the other not.

... We're not talking about Vanquish? I fucking love Vanquish.

Yeah, I'm totally playing the game that way, because it works at the moment. I too would like to see it balanced back, but eliminating sprint is not the only way to do it. I like sprint and want it to stay. I would like to see the game a tad slower than what it is now, but not as slow as the beta.

Moreover, ND could lower health, decrease hip/blind accuracy, lower melee damage, fix hit-boxes, and/or reduce recoil. I'd actually like to see all of this touched, just a smidge, and again the game made a TEENSY bit slower.

But I'm not over-reacting (and lying) like some people are, saying that this game is garbage and awful and ND must hate its fans and I'm not having fun even though I'm level 30 over two days' worth of playing. Had a blast tonight. Relax.

I'd really like an answer to this, so could one of you tell me, as I haven't had time to play more than 2 rounds yet:

I noticed they changed the party menu a bit, which is good (press triangle to show friends, quickly invite them). But when I invited a friend, just to see what would happen, I noticed they still don't use PSN messages for the invites.
So, what happens when you receive an invite? Do you get a clear notification in both the main menu and while you're in a match? Or just in the menu? Or is it still like in the Beta, where you didn't get a notification at all, and your invites were hidden in one of the tabs?? Because damn, that sucked.

The way this is going, it will be a fest of people rolling and grenading and running and gunning.
A one style approach for everyone.

I'm guessing co-op will be my Uncharted 3 mode of choice.

My hope is that stuff like the melee and grenade rolling is so obviously "off" to ND that it is only a matter of patch approval before it is taken care of.

Stuff like sprinting and weapon balance will be tricky because there are going to be people who quite like it. People defended Commando in MW2, so good luck getting everyone to agree on on basic movement rules and mechanics. That will take a longer time in looking at overall feedback after the full retail release.

Hopefully Objective remains as fun as it has been for the first two days but I seem to have that wish about a lot of multiplayer games lately.

Well, I think I'm finally getting back into it. Just went 20-6 in a team deathmatch... and we STILL lost -_-
It wasn't the great ratio, but hey.. I was only using the AK. I hate using power weapons >_<

Yes it will. But maybe they can balance it out a bit.

You'll get an in-game notification when someone invites you. Like you'll be playing and the message will pop on your screen.

Okay, great. Thanks for the reply.

Still though, I'd prefer if they just used PSN messages like almost all new games do.
Consistency - I like it.

Meh ..hate to beat a dead horse..but he only issues i had with the beta were the overtly insanely for the love of god protracted momentum animations. Can a brotha do a 180 without dragging half the known universe behind him?? Tighter cornering and overall turning mechanics would make this game stellar. The guns are a separate issue but nothing really hinders thins game as much as mobility imo.

more or less like KZ3, and to a great extent Guerrilla Games' comments about it, did show KZ2 was good only by accident (this is, custom games, the community "fixed" the game and made it a wonder).

ND have a vision about Uncharted mp that we thought it was awesome, UC2 1.0, but it wasn't a finished project, their true vision started to show its face when 1.05 was released and of course this Subway promo wouldn't be too far from UC2 1.05 in terms of crazy design decisions which ruin the game but... the summer beta... how... was.... it... so... good.... ?

I give up... just going to buy this for single player.

Don't forget the $5 footlong taunt!

to me, the main concern is sprinting. Sprinting was a quickrun with little mobility to the sides. Right now it's a freerun. I got someone behind shooting me? Freerun in zigzag, end of his chance to kill me. The aiming can't keep up with the sprinting. It just can't. Much less actually hitting them due to the insane recoil. As soon as they realize they're being shot, they just "Flash" away.

You see, uncharted 3 is built with lots of hideouts in the maps. So no one is in the open long enough to be killed long range, unless headshot with a dragon or a t.bolt hit.

I remember how people actually liked weapon expert rof/precision for the ak to be like the old AK. And now weapon expert and rof for the ak is gone.

So what exactly was the beta test for? See the awesome before we lose it?

I can imagine the campaign, where Drake is in a mysterious tomb and he finds the skeletons of those who were left for dead, all of them holding a delicious subway sandwich.

Eh? I think it looks good. It's airstrip that offends the eyes. Yemen and Chateau (and Desert Village too, I guess) look the best.

No fear Brits.

If you didn't manage to get a code from The States it is hitting Playstation Plus this week for us. Just read it on Eurogamer.

The shadows that made Airstrip so unique in the beta is the biggest offender of all. Why get rid of something so unique and great?
