I don't have racist friends. I have friends who think they're funny by making jokes about anything. How do we know the sender of the photo didn't add the caption or someone did it later as a joke. We're jumping to too many conclusions as normal. Lets see how this plays out. If the students come out and say it was a racist joke i hope you will accept my apology.

But come on, They're students. Pretty much 80% of the students i know and go to school with have the maturity levels of a 12 year old.

Anything huh? How many nigger jokes have your friends told?

I hope this shit follows them for the rest of their lives and all of their careers are fucking ruined.

Fuck every last one of those pieces of shit.

I would ban you if it was up to me. I hate this type of outrage before any confirmation that these girls are guilty.

Well it would looked tacked on whether they did it or not since it has to be photoshopped into the picture...

True. I don't know. I could just see them taking a picture of them wearing mud on their faces and then someone adding the caption later "for the lulz"

If the girls didn't know the "black lives matter" caption was gonna be posted I don't wanna accuse anybody of anything. If they did, then punish these girls UND. Nothing can excuse this kind of joke right now.

It would be best to wait for an investigation on this. I don't want to criticize these girls until there's some proof that they did this. It would be really dumb to do this after the whole "locked the black bitch out" incident at the same school.

Pretty sure atleast 2 of them got f...ed by black dudes already so is it really racist?

On some next level shit right here..the fuck?

As a current student of UND - the school where these girls attend - I can't really add much to the conversation. There is obviously racism on campus, all you have to look back to is how the Fighting Sioux was the logo/name for years and years and years and people didn't care if it offended anybody.

I don't have numbers, but by the eye test the campus is predominantly white. The majority of non-whites are athletes for various teams. Mostly football and basketball and baseball. Oops, forgot that last one lost its entire program last year. The campus is going downhill, with tons of money going toward athletics, a huge new medical building, and a law school. The general education buildings, business school, and anything that isn't Aviation/Medical/Law is getting left behind and it's causing a big rift in the population of students.

However, I can't help but feel bad for the new President of the School, who just stepped in and this is his first full semester. In the past year alone this school has had:
  • Huge budget shortfalls in Athletics. Millions of dollars.
  • A new nickname (the Fighting Hawks, replacement for the old Fighting Sioux that was banned in 2012)
  • A huge portion of the community that is against the new name, in particular the logo. Lots of people stopping their donations as a result.
  • Two staff members busted for child porn in separate incidents/arrests
  • The incident last week or the week before with the girls laughing on snapchat with the caption "Locked the Black Bitch Out!"
  • And now this
I feel bad for the guy.

I don't use snapchat. How does adding text after you take the picture work exactly? Is it all done through the app?

Yeah, you take the picture and then you can type out the text before you send it to someone or post it on your story to be viewed by everyone on your friends list. That's why I don't know if all of them getting kicked out would be kosher. The one who posted the pic would have to type out the text but the others could have just thought it was a picture of them doing that charcoal mask and being goofy. Since the mask is something that people are doing right now, I can give them some wiggle room on being ignorant. It isn't like they showed up to a party like that.

Racism will die with the older generation they said...

Edit: People in here are defending this!? LMAO! I can't

I'm just saying it not impossible for them to be completely innocent in this. I'm pretty sure my wife has some of that same paste and peel goop for her face as did my mother. Too many variables to assume guilt is what I'm saying.

Yes. At least one of the girls had to have put the black lives matters text in the picture. Because if it was a saved image that someone else uploaded and added the text, it would have a white border around and say "saved from camera roll". One of them definitely added the caption.

Edit: Examples:
Regular upload:

Should wait for more info about the caption.

On a side note, as someone who doesn't use snapchat, I thought the whole point was that the pictures would disappear and not get out like this. If that's not the case, why use it over say iMessage or equivalent?

It's done through the app but it's really easy to screenshot somebody else's picture and add a caption of your own either on your phone or on a computer.

The bolded is pretty damning and falls into line with what I suspected in the first place. Part of me thinks they all did and probably laughed after the text was added and the send button pressed, but it could also be the case that one decided to be a dick and thought it'd be funny to add it when no-one was looking.

The problem I have with that is that would the others really not look at the snap as soon as it was sent? I assume they'd all receive it, is there an option to delete snaps or is it a send and done type deal?

A lot of blackface wives in this thread! 😤

Charcoal masks are all the rage at the moment and it's baffling. Same with brushing your teeth with charcoal. I only about these things because my girlfriend is manic about them both and follows some instagram accounts where they give tips, etc on how to use it.

I mean, the masks I can kinda understand, but brushing your teeth with charcoal? What the fuck is going on man.

Activated charcoal has been hip in holistic circles for quite some time. I keep it in my desk for when people have hangovers and such. Golden Seal Root will be next. Mark my words.

Edit: see this guy above me get a it!

It's a poor joke, they aren't wearing black face. As other posters have mentioned. they're facial masks. I know plenty of people who would make a joke like this not thinking of the consequences. they're kids.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt because there are black facial masks. But regardless, they are gonna have to explain that to the disciplinary board (or its equivalent). Because they don't look like they are trying to just get rid of their blackheads on their face. And they would have to explain if they always get together to cleanse their face at the same time and to live stream it all the time.

At best, they'll have to find some other facial cleanser because they know their watchers are gonna set them up. I don't understand why a white person would put themselves at risk like that for the internet. If they get publicly identified, they are gonna have that brand of being potentially racist for the rest of their life. You say they are just kids, but the HR Managers don't care, they have their staff to care about. How old do you have to be to understand that you shouldn't compromise yourself like that?

Also, kids or adults (which what these women are) get punished for doing the wrong thing. Just saying their are kids doesn't mean they shouldn't be disciplined properly.

It sends you a notification when someone screenshots your photo. It's generally considered rude to do that unless you're close friends with trust.

Wow I forgot if one person posts a snap the rest of her friends probably saw it. Yeah this is definitely racist. I can't really see how this is defendable.
