Gotta push memory card sales.so why not just make it easy like on ps3?

Sooooo I guess I should wait for the re-design huh?
So no matter what, a Europe profile will never get to play Japanese games? And I won't be able to play review copies, redeemed on my press account, on my personal account no matter how many memory cards I have?
Well, I expect that to happen. Can probably go online as a guest and browse, but if you wanna buy anything, "better buy our memory card first!"
This could actually happen.
Can't be though, you can factory reset with no card inside.Wait, so it means that factory reset also format memory card?
The Vita is just a ploy to sell memory cards.
I like how everything leads back to the memory cards.
Wait, so if the profile is tied to a memory card, if you wanted to move up to a larger size memory card all you have to do is copy everything over? There's not going to be some dumb profile transfer hoops we'd have to go through in terms of deactivation/reactivation right? Right??

PS4: One profile per HDD?
Make sense since there are rumors that the content of the memory card is encrypted with a key tied to your account
They would be stupid if they didn't. Otherwise you could simply swap cards with anyone. Ultimate game sharing.
It's like it's 1995 all over again.
I wonder if the third party ones will be unreliable and randomly wipe your saves from time to time.
They should focus on Nintendo first though, I want access to that JPN eShop! It's like they're taunting the hackers and saying "Come at us bro's".
SMH
Could have been tied to the vita S/N

Sony has utilized this strategy in like forever, they've even gone on account saying they employ a "razor -blades" strategy.Give away the razor, make profit off of the blades is the strategy of shaving accessory companies. It's not a bad strategy but I really don't this is that common of a scenario besides hardcore gamers who want to play in multiple regions, so I'm on the side that this sort of fixes the issue...I just am lazy so I will probably end up buying two Vitas eventually.
How is that any different than sharing game cards you buy at retail?
You don't seem to be able to earn trophies on your primary account with imported games though?
Sounds good, until you have to replace your Vita.
My PSN ID is my JP account since I got my PS3 when I was living in Japan, but I buy things off my US account all the time. Will I at least be able to transfer purchases between accounts? This all sounds really stupid.
Where was this confirmed?Sony is not taking a bath or anything. They will brake even or make a little profit from the VITA.
According to the Wired article, you CAN change the account on the memory card but you need to reset to factory setting first. Does that mean we can keep files from different accounts on 1 card, and then switch account manually ? But if you have 1 account per card, you obviously don't need to deal with switching and factory defaults.
