Who do you think is the least popular Pokemon?

Fuck. Basculine. Everything I could ever hate about a Pokemon as well as everything I disliked about gen 5 pokes all rolled into one stupid fish.

They're moles with their body buried in the ground, not that hard to understand.

Fish that just evolve into bigger fish like Goldeen or Finneon are entirely forgettable. Or ones that dont evolve and just look dumb like Luvdisc or Stunfisk.

Gen 3 and 5 are filled with forgetful Pokemon since they did the "let's have only original Pokemon" gimmick. So they filled the routes with Pokemon that would never be used again, rather than throwing in one of the hundreds of other Pokemon they already had.

Some animals hatch from eggs. Not that hard to figure out.

All those 6 eggs hatch from a single egg. It's pretty hard to figure out considering they also involve into a palm tree of all things.

They were obviously on drugs when designing it.

1/3 of the Hoenn dex was filled with old Pokemon.

Eh, I feel the opposite. Gens 2 and 4 (Especially Gen 2) suffered from the new Pokemon being much less prominent than classic Pokemon. This led to hilarious situations like people assuming Skarmory was a Gen 3 Pokemon because nobody actually saw it in GSC.

Hence Pokemon like Qwilfish, Stantler, Corsola, Wormadam, Cherrim, etc. often showing up in "most forgettable Pokemon" list.

My least popular do mean the one that people hate or Pokemon that people don't know about?

For the hate, we have no other Pokemon than Vaniluxe!

Remember Maractus? Me neither.

Also Trubbish is cool fight me.

Maractus is one of my favourite designs ever. Sooo cute

Anyone saying stunkfish is wrong too. Thing is hideous, but it has a bunch of merchandise in Japan and was pretty popular.

Finneon is a good example of a forgotten pokemon

Corsola and Luvdisc. Incredibly unremarkable stats for both, and they don't have particularly memorable designs (actually, sometimes i go from really loving the simplicity and cuteness of Luvdisc, to thinking it's one of the worst Pokemon designs).

I thought this other Pokemon was going to be Luvdisc's evolved form before Black and White came out.
CUkDVvZWcAAN77R.png

Nope, that's Alomomola (I had to look up that name). Another worthy canidate for least popular Pokemon.
I thought that Alomomola was Luvdisc's evolution. That's kind of bizarre.
I actually like Corsola.

Too bad that nothing hatches from this Pokémon aside from that palm tree for some reason.

Seriously, some people look at the newer Pokémon with the very intention to find a flaw to complain about.

Here's a pro Tip: Look at the older Pokémon with the same overly critical manner that you do for the newer ones. I'll guarantee that you'll find out that a lot of the criticism thrown at newer Pokémon actually applies to the older Gens too.

Example: Despite Blastoise being one of my Top 5 Pokémon of all time, I have come to realize that it's design could have been straight out of Digimon with an Animal that just got some weapons attached to it

That Cherub thing is the only Pokemon in this thread I didn't remember, but man that freaks me out. I am a huge Pokemon fan, so to have one be that forgetable is intense.

I think Watchog's the one I overall see the least mentioned anywhere. There was a time he didn't even have a writeup on the Smogon Dex, and even the worst Pokemon had writeups on that site. Forgettable.

Finneon gets mine. But there's a lot of shit and forgettable pokemon that pop up really obscurely that people wouldn't have come across at all.

Has anyone tried Google searching every single Pokémon and comparing the number of results? I would but... I won't.

Fine, I'll give it a try. Probably easier than using Google Trends.

Some of the names generated some absurd numbers. With the exception of the obvious big ones (Pikachu and Mewtwo) I assumed that it's because the name is shared by something else. In those cases, I added "Pokemon" to the search and noted it above.

Fine, I'll give it a try. Probably easier than using Google Trends.

Damn. Spewpa is a Pokeball mon in Smash and it's still at the bottom.

Also, I get the feeling that Omanyte wouldn't be in a Gen I bottom ten if you included searches for "helix fossil."

I think the one that's really distorted is Golem. I would be amazed if Golem was really that popular. It's probably got the Regis and the Golurk line mixed in since they're golem Pokemon.

Also, I thought Ninetales might be mixed in with Naruto or something, but I'm not seeing significantly different results with "Nintales Pokemon".

Has to be Dunsparce

Any pokemon used as an avatar cannot possibly be the least liked of them all.

edit:

Edit 2:
If anyone says Dunsparce I will personally fight you.

You may be my champion, bro!

You can hide stuff behind [ email ][ /email ] tags or something like that, right? I want to post the full version of the data above, but I don't want to make everyone scroll over a gigantic post.

Does anyone actually like Jynx?

There's probably a whole subculture of people who love debating whether or not Jynx is a racial caricature

I nominate Klinklang.

Did you know its 'face' is completely expressionless? It never changes expression.. It can't look happy, sad, or angry. What you see is literally what you get. Always and forever. The 'face' may as well be a sticker stuck on the gear. Imagine being a trainer and trying to interact with it. How would you even begin to have an emotional attachment to such a thing that seems so completely devoid of life?

I don't think there is ANY other Pokemon that can't emote to the degree of this 'Pokemon'.
