The designs of the party members is really off putting for me, particularly when compared to the older characters also shown in the trailer, which look much better. I don't want to play as these dopey, bubble faced kids.

What I like about the Xenoblade series is that you (mostly) play as a group of adults in a sci-fi fantasy world. These characters are a real regression IMO. (And the spotty voice acting didn't help.)

Hopefully more details will improve my feelings toward this.

People are saying the dub is bad? No its not, I've heard some bad dubs before. Chaos Wars? Arc Rise Fantasia? Now that is a bad dub. And I love the artstyle. But then again I love anime.

The main character looks like he has a little sidekick that hides in his helmet. Guess I'm getting a switch for Christmas.

End shot looks like it showed your team members. Did I see see a wolf like one?

Not like I was ever the biggest fan of the series but I liked Chronicles well enough and am still planning to play the sequel sometime. This though has nothing at all that attracts me. Bonus points for some of the worst character designs I've seen. Didn't see any character that looked even somewhat appealing in the trailer.

I think the lower budget they get for these is starting to show, but overall it looked more interesting than the last trailer for me (which outside of the masterful timing of the music and whale in the end did little for me). I'd rather this VA for Rex than a kid, even if he ends up being a tropey character at least he doesn't sound like a 10 year old. I am curious about the combat though, did they go back to turn based? I don't mind that choice but that'd be surprising and I'm not sure if it's the right move.

Yeah... that wasn't GREAT. Xenoblade X had a hype level of 10/10, this is like... 5/10.

I'm still buying day 1, because Chronicles and X were so great.

Really glad they are going for the original Xenoblade style. More story focused and less MMO. Character designs look fine. Arguably better than tales since it seems to be more cel shaded. Best they've ever looked in a Xenoblade game.

I don't see anything bad about the character design except for the MC and the Red Sword Girl and there will be different armour anyway. Everyone else looks fine.
