Haven't seen this posted yet. The previous mini survey about the announced Yakuza games has been replaced by this much more elaborate survey about Kiwami and future localisations.

This needs a better exposure so I've made a thread: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1426775

Dragon Speed is definitely for beating Majima 3 times in Pocket racing, Flash Step however I'm not sure, I'd say it's for beating him for the second time in MesuKing, not sure though.

Please don't. If you haven't played the game, we don't want your response. I'd hate to have to throw out the entire data set as useless because it was flooded by people trying to make a statement.

However, if you have played Kiwami, please fill it out. Once. Honestly. We love accurate data :)

But...but one of the questions in the survey is actually "how long have you played Yakuza Kiwami", with one of the answers being "I have not played it yet"...

Tell Nagoshi to make Kiwami 3!

I beat him once already in Pocket Racing. When does he show up again?

Usually immediately after an area reset(walk out and in again) walk around the whole stadium a bit the triggers there are weird. Like parts for me didn't get updated immediately after beating the tournaments but I had to walk close to the exit for the notification. Same for majima reappearing he only did after walk towards the parts shop for me.
----------------
In lack of a better money making option I just used some rubber bands and am walking around the club in circles with ebisu socks while doing other things.
It's pretty expensive getting all the weapons/armor required for max cp I already used up like 15 mill and am sitting around 55/70 and 60/100 collected.

So in combat can anyone tell me what to do when a powerful foe tries to recharge their health and gets a coloured glow around them?

Is there a way to prevent that?
I spent forever in chapter 3 fighting
Shimano
thanks to that.

That fight was the worst. Took too long and it was repetitive. Really didn't enjoy it. Probably my first sour moment with a Yakuza game.

don't know specifically which ones these are but in general there seem to be quests that only trigger when you walk around town with Haruka and there are some that only specifically trigger when you're solo.

Is there a guide for the pocket racing. Not a fan and been told I have to beat majima three times and can't progress beat pocket fighter either. Bought all the items from the pawn shop and seller in the hobo area. Also majima refuses to appear again to play mesuking.

Kiwami is my introduction to Yakuza, and I think the comparisons to Shenmue (and Sleeping Dogs) are fair. It's not the same game, but in the same ballpark. So far (chapter 4) I like the story, though the telling is a bit clunky, and I like the combat, although it's a bit stiff. Overall it feels very much like a remake/remaster of a PS2 game.

I filled it out via the link above instead of through the PS4 interface (which is terrible for surveys).

Done.

I asked for remakes or remasters of Yakuza 3, 4 and 5, as well as localizations for Kenzan and Ishin. I said I would buy 6, but wouldn't mind waiting for the remakes or remasters of 3, 4 and 5 before playing it.

Yeah I said on previous page that fight was a slog.
His knockdowns-->heel stomp were murder on my health, thankfully I was well-stocked on items.

This game also feels harder than Y0 or is it just me?
I'm playing on normal and maybe just miss being OP from Y0.

It's definitely harder.

The issue with that fight is he kept grappling me. I was able to get out of it but it became a repetitive slog.

Power in 0 was tied to money, which is easy to exploit early in game due to the side businesses. In Kiwami, I was able to get a lot of XP from substories but it still took me forever to beat Majima in the batting cages.

In 0 I was also able to stick with one style - Slugger for Majima and Beast for Kazuma took care of 90% of my battles. In Kiwami I see myself changing styles more often.

Finished the Rina Subquest. That was surprisingly deep. Great ending, though the
softcore porn shoot at the end kind of ruins it a bit.

For the "Majima everywhere" system, this dude ain't anywhere. I beat him at all his patrolls and his police officer place, but I've been looking around and can't find him anywhere (Just started chapter 6).

His dude told me to look for a big construction thing or something but I haven't seen anything. Also know he's supposed to appear at shine but I haven't seen him once despite repeatedly going. Where the hell is this guy?

Watch out for random rattling noises on the street.... especially from traffic cones or dumpsters lol.

Beginning part feel more difficult because of some of the new systems put into older game framework. Instead of one fighting style you have a bunch of fighting styles that makes it take a bit longer to get to the really useful stuff, and the health regen boss thing becomes sort of voided out later with the Kiwami Heat actions and just having higher damage output. Plus many might not have gone to the local Poppo or M Mart to get health items before heading out, and for newcomers they might not know that if someone asks if you're ready, you're going to probably want some health items. The game does not go out of its way to say that either.

Combined makes one of the more difficult parts of the game the beginning. Most random street fights later lasted me ten seconds.

He is unavailable at the point where you are for a long time I believe.
Cause he got stabbed in chapter 5.
I only gained access to him again in chapter 11 towards the end part of it. Not sure if there's another chapter inbetween where he's available I surely wasn't able to find him when I tried. Basically all the usual triggers(like the big traffic cone) people mention just magically started working for me in chapter 11.

There's some construction going on in the north west side of the map. Opposite side of the block of the batting cage.

No that's Chapter 7
that he takes a break during. He can still be fought after the scene you mentioned, despite how goofy that is

I'll take a look, but I passed there multiple times doing side quests and didn't see anything suspicious. Maybe I did tho, so I'll double check.

I think you may be right because I walked around doing side quests for MANY hours and didn't see him anywhere. Well I'll check this pylon and see if he's there.

Jesus. Majima is kicking my ass in this last Pocket Circuit race. He wasn't kidding when he said he's been practicing.

13h later still in chapter 4

Same here lol.

I'm pretty sure I'm even done with all the side quests currently, I just can't stop playing the mini games and grinding CP. Haven't started the pocket circuit stuff yet, kinda dreading it. It was my least favorite mini game with story in 0.

Still very confused on how to unlock Kiwami finishers. I know this is somehow done through the level up system but I loved around and I am still confused. On chapter 7 and I have yet to pull one off...

It is through the level up system. The one highlighted in pink is the beast kiwami finisher and the two to the left of it are the brawler and rush kiwami finishers.

I did one yesterday against
stripper Majima
.

When he was glowing, I switched to the style that matched the color of his aura (Rush I think) while he was near a wall and then a different kind of triangle button popped on screen. I hit it and did a ridiculous attack. After his health depleted a giant 極 appeared on screen.

I think you need to have a full heat gauge as well as certain conditions (near the wall in my case) to pull it off.

Thank you so much. Just took a look and they also all have fire icons in the middle of the picture. This was super useful!

That reminds me when I wasn't halfway done with 0's story when I hit the 30 hour mark. For Kiwami I think I'll take care of the story first, though most substories are quick.

You should be able to clear Kiwami faster than 0 since the main game is shorter, and there is all round less to do (plus, as you mention the side stories are shorter). I'm pretty much at the end of 0 now, 90 hours on the clock! Wonder if I'll beat my previous 120 hour, 100% clear save on it back when I imported it.

It's kinda a shame they didn't implement infinitely scaling endgame style like in 0 for kiwami. It's kinda fun that money never lost its value due to that. The only annoying thing about it was that upgrading was tedious cause the money charge buying animation instead of an instead button press you can just spam.

>complaint by someone sitting at 9999 useless exp.

Holy shit, yes. I think I spent 20 minutes or so on that on normal. It was just a slog of quick hits, dodging and occasionally mashing X to get out of holds. I hope this isn't indicative of later major fights.

2 hours give or take? That is if you're focused on main story.

Ah cool, should finish it today then. It really sucks that have to wait so long for Kiwami 2.

Man, I thought I was really bad. Nice to hear that this fight sucks.

Are the valuable items you get from the locker just used to sell? Or will i need some to to get weapons and armour like in other Yakuza games?

edit: Thanks!

If he's on a break he'll by up by the park near purgatory have a smoke. If he's not available because of a sub mission or story mission taking place where he is you'll get an email. If you have neither than he's around.

It's real weird to me just because I couldn't stop running into him to the point where I was tired of doing the same fight over and over again.
