PS4s are generally sold out at all retailers although regular supply is refreshing the channel, Sony said on a slide shown during an internal presentation. Sony also mentioned,they have increased its market share among as what they describe as heavy gamers.

I went to Sainsbury's in Cobham UK and they had one 349.99 version and two Killzone bundles at £389.99 or £399.99 (can't remember) on shelves... I should have asked if that meant anything, because often they don't put 'Out of Sotck' signs on anything.
I literally haven't seen a PS4 on shelves, ever (Calgary). I ordered mine online prior to launch, so I didn't venture into stores during the first week, but I haven't seen one single box on shelves since it came out. This includes Target, EB, Toys R Us, Best Buy, Future Shop, Wal-Mart and Superstore.
Close friend of mine is the Store Manager of the city's busiest Wal-Mart, and they've received multiple replenishment shipments since launch, all of which sell out in record time as soon as they put them out. They do pages over the intercom announcing that some are in stock, and within 15-20 mins, they are all gone.
If he wasn't telling me these stories, I'd believe that Sony hadn't shipped out any units to stores since November. Software isn't much better, the PS4 shelves are almost always barren, the few titles that exist for the platform seem to have been selling extremely well.

I've been looking for one for around two weeks now and really hit it hard this past weekend. Saturday consisted of 3 gamestops, 1 Bestbuy, 2 Targets, 2 Walmarts & a ToysrUs. All were strike outs. I went Sunday morning to Best Buy & Target and again struck out.
Yesterday on the way home from work I said screw it and stopped by another Best Buy, Walmart & Gamestop on the way home and again struck out. Wife then texted me to stop at the store, so I swung into the Target by my house, figured what the hell and walked past the electronics section and BOOM, guy had just put 3 in the case. Right time, right place!

I understand what you are saying, but the fact of the matter is PS4 is pretty much sold out everywhere. Sure you might find a handful of consoles at one location or another, that is the exception though.

No one does. I have been to various retailers in the Houston area and I have only seen two in the wild. Both were at Wal-Marts. Since Nov, I have probably hit up 25-30 stores (Target, BB, Wal-Mart, Gamestop, Frys) if they weren't scarce I would have ran across them countless times. Oddly enough, I haven't seen an Xbox One at Wal-Mart outside of launch week. Seen plenty at BB/Frys though.

I see the odd one from time to time in various shops in the UK. If you are prepared to spend a bit of time, you can still pick them up off the shelves.

Eh actually that's just pre-ordering it to be shipped next week. They don't even have enough on hand right now for the outrageous bundles at gamestop which is surprising

It happened last generation to the Wii also but those were even worst considering the base price. My brother ended up with a bundle that was almost 600 dollars with tax just to get a Wii for his kid with out paying a scalper.
Target @ Mid Rivers is out still. Plenty of Xbones though.
Are you in Wellington, by chance? I here mobs of PS4 walk the streets with squeegees and desperate looks.
