no tax on digital blizzard purchases in the US. The only exceptions I could think of are maybe states where Activision and/or Blizzard are headquartered (can someone from California chime in?)
I'm in Toronto. Maybe it's different when you're paying via cc/paypal compared to bnet balance.
That wouldn't really make any sense, as all player characters in Diablo already are half-demons. That's what Nephalem are: half-demon, half-angel.
Anyone not going full pet build is likely using it. With vengeful spirit and the appropriate passives its a very strong AoE spell that will refresh pretty quickly
That plus the INT increase makes not a no brainer for most builds. It's a must have if you are using spirit barrage imo.

I don't understand this at all.
This game has no economy, no functional pvpv and currently basically has no level cap. What in the world is the point of a ladder if nothing majorly unique is introduced to the system such as unique to ladder legendaries etc?
Now that they're not having to constantly rework things to make them slightly less shitty, I could actually see that happening.
This exact same thing just happened to me. I chatted with a customer service representative and he was able to upgrade me to free overnight shipping, so my copy will arrive on the 26th. It's not release day, but you might want to give that a shot if you haven't already.
Of all the days for someone to break into my house and steal my laptop... fuck this. At least that was the only thing they stole. They even left my new headphone and the dongle, that where on the laptop.

Playing crusader on the asian servers, pretty smooth so far. No worse than my pings to the US servers.
Seen more US and EU players than asian players. Could have just done a world wide release.
There's no AH anymore as well, so surely they can work towards letting us use our characters on any region now.

I would love to see "event patches" where they add new content (weapons, armor, tilesets, boss encounters, etc)... but I'm guessing since D3 isn't F2P (ie no real source of residual income) most things will be saved for an expansion.

Eh, it could be worse. I was not at home at the time, but part of my family was.
Our family restaurant has some deactivated cameras, and they thought my laptop recorded it, so they took it and some money. Nothing we can`t recover. The important thing is that nobody was hurt.
Borrowed an mac mini to use as a backup machine until I can get a new one. Hope it runs the game!

The thing that would make ladder for me would be free trading. Now there wouldn't have to be an AH again mind you, but just having it so legendaries wouldn't be account-bound for ladder characters. And while no AH, some sort of in-game bazaar area where people could set up their own little shops and/or trade would be nice. I think PoE has something like that.

But he used powerleveling tricks, so it's not "that" impressive. He's committed at least. That's something I cannot do. I cant focus on a game for days. I usually play 2-3 days if it's a big ARPG and then... go do something else.

Yeah, I suppose. I can see it as a sort of tax for two years of continued support and updates for Diablo III (although many would call those fixes to a broken game).
I don't feel like $30 or $40 is a bad deal for what they're offering, personally. I know I'm going to get a lot more enjoyment out of the expansion than I will from most full-priced games.
Not sure why anyone would be jealous of someone that puts games before their health.

I take it you never played ladder in D2? It's also rather premature to say that the game has no economy. Of course it doesn't yet. They just removed the AH.

They certainly should, yes. The Windforce proc always worked on my Scoundrel, for example.
For me, I think I'm going to go Wiz --> DH --> Monk --> Crusader.
