To people with a 2000: Did you need a grip for the 1000 to make it comfortable for long sessions, and if so are you satisfied with the 2000 sans-grip? Seems like a decent upgrade but there's pretty much no grips for it outside some really cheapy looking one and I couldn't deal with the OLED model with no grip. Hands too big with nowhere to put them.

For me it's a lot more comfortable. I never had grips for the 1000 although I contemplated buying them several times. Especially when I played long sessions of Toukiden I'd start getting hand cramps and have to readjust my grip all the time. Haven't encountered that yet at all with the 2000. That's my experience with it anyway!

How the @#&% is possible that we're almost 10 days away from the release of the Sly trilogy and we haven't seen a single video yet?

Rhetorical question of course, thank you based SCEA

Definitely not getting it until I hear impressions. Will probably also not get it unless it's 60fps, which means I will probably not get it.

Hmm speaking of sly:
How important is it to understand the dialogue/missions in sly 4? Is it playable/enjoyable without understanding a thing?
Got sly4 on vita from ps+ but it only has turkish, polish, czech and russian as language options and ofc i cant understand either.

It's coming April 16th here in europe.

(I blame SCEA because this only happens with their games)

I got a code from Sony for a discount on the PS3 Sly but still haven't bought it, if it'll be crossbuy I'll buy it. But I'd like to know if it's as terrible as Jak :/

There is a marker to point to your objectives so you should not get lost. Other than not knowing the controls or what abilities do, you should be fine. You could always look at a guide anyway and get your bearings.

Starlight Inception (Vita) final release date is April 22. PS3 date is coming soon.

Didn't know what this was, so looked it up. Hell. Yes.

Here's the description from the Kickstarter page for anyone who's interested:

Starlight Inception is the rebellious stepchild of Wing Commander, X-wing and Freespace2, taking a fresh approach to the classic space combat genre.

You assume the role of a young space fighter pilot assigned to the star carrier U.S.F. Independence, deploying to hotspots throughout the Solar System during World War IV.

Starlight Inception is a realistic and relevant 1st person (both with cockpit and without) / 3rd person strategic and tactical space combat experience. It has a unique blend of action with an involving storyline. Features include ship based combat both in space and on planets and moons, interplanetary exploration, and multiplayer dogfighting.

There are two main game modes - one is mission based, and has a storyline following a pilot through the fourth World War, fought amongst the planets and moons of our star system. The missions are varied, including straight shoot-'em ups, rescue missions, salvage missions. All the missions contain elements of exploration, combat and in some cases, stealth and tagging the enemy for larger assaults. There is a fair amount of world building in this mode, as you interact with enemies and wingmen, sometimes discovering things or achieving things during the mission that affect the overall course of the story.

The second game mode is a sort of strategic defense of your mothership, where you deploy turrets and engage in ship to ship combat to defend against incoming marauders. This mode is more geared toward players who just want to get in a cockpit and begin engaging the enemy (i.e. casual players).

(sorry if somewhat off topic)

I am about to bite the bullet on an import white Vita 2000 and a 64gb memory card and I'm gonna sell off my old 1000 to help fund it (no regrets! the new Vita looks so much nicer and more comfortable, I can easily stomach a screen downgrade for it)

I was just wondering how I would go about backing up saves and everything before I sell it? Can I back everything up to a computer and import it to the new Vita? I can do that with PS+ too yeah? At least with saves. I imagine it will be a mostly smooth transition since I can just redownload all of the games I have but I have a few saves I need to keep. I haven't really used the Vita content manager on my computer much other than some photo transfers, so any help is appreciated. Thanks!

(Side note; anyone have any experience with SuperUFO.com? They have the cheapest prices and they seem to be reputable but I'd like some GAF testimony if there is any.)

Use content manager to backup your vita, then restore to your new one. Only restriction is you need to restore to the same PSN account, so a different vita/memory card is fine.

You can do it via USB or wifi, to a PC/Mac/PS3. Did my 32Gb via USb yesterday, took a couple of hours. Going to be upgrading to 64GB.

VitaGAF I have a problem.

I have become addicted to Destiny of Spirits for some unknown reason.

Help me.
Just get your account banned just like mine (LOL). I was originally addicted to it also but doing it all over again sucks so I rage quitted the game. Look and laugh at my account, its name is "lookup-lookup". Forever will be sitting at 55(or 54, I forgot) unlocked areas.

or if you want to continue the addiction, I prescribe you this prescription:
Farm summoning stones during Great Blessing days, blue stones drip best on Bad Luck days V.V. Since blue stones drip best on BL days don't be afraid to use the monsters of your friends. Kill all the pawns of the bosses but don't straight away go to them. Instead pawn other creeps until all your monsters are in the red or dead. Then play another game while you wait for your monsters health. After that,It's Showtime baby! Straight up sell all Common spirits you see, they won't be of use to you.

Its sad when its considered a deal to find a 64gb vita card for ~$100

I guess ill have to wait till next black friday to upgrade my poor 8gb

I'm also in the 8GB camp. I'm constantly deleting stuff. I'm OK with indie titles, but any bigger releases require some serious shuffling of content.

I just can't bring myself to pay the insane asking price for a bigger card...

So my auto-upload to the cloud on Vita is working again (it didn't work since mar 28). It was either the savedata for LBPV, Skype or Facebook being on auto-upload that was broking the whole thing. Removed the auto-up for those and all is well again.

Aye, no idea on why Skype and FB were on auto-upload.

If it sells enough to guarantee some support there, and XSEED/NISA/Atlus are happy with software sales on the West, I'm going to be a happy owner during the next few years. I don't care that much about shelf space, I use Amazon.es for most of my purchases.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this but hopefully someone can help. Is it much trouble swapping out the battery in a dual shock 3 controller? One of my controllers no longer holds charge and rather than just tossing it out for a new one I was looking at getting a new battery for it. Does anyone have any experience doing this?

The boost in sales last week can probably be attributed to people buying stuff before the consumer taxes in Japan went up on April 1st. The disparity between 3DS LL sales last week and the week before is pretty impressive indeed.

Yep, that plus the sales tax increase (First time in about 17 years I believe). Project Diva f 2nd would've helped push a lot of Vitas, since that's also dominating the software charts. The Vita version outselling the PS3 version.

1. [PSV] Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2nd - 98,628 (New entry)
2. [3DS] Mario Party: Island Tour - 78,098 (Lifetime sales - 210,767)
3. [PS3] Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2nd - 59,965 (New entry)
4. [3DS] Yokai Watch - 48,345 (662,724)
5. [PS3] Samurai Warriors 4 - 46,490 (166,942)

It's a sequel, so it won't move units. Especially since the original PDf was bundled. Audience is already there :)

Japan is actually getting a lot more vita releases. A lot of RPGs and other niche games.
The disparity between Japan and the rest of the world does feel pretty large. For me it's already getting on par with the level of the PSP in terms of releases. Meanwhile my US Vita is just a PS+ and indies machine now.

Yeah I've got a 16gb, and once you have a few bigger titles on there, it's a frequent game of moving content around. Close to importing a 64gb card.... Would be so good especially with the app limit increase.

It's a pretty simple procedure. The biggest annoyance is probably messing up the triggers when you separate the shells.

Vita version of King Oddball is glitched on the Australian PSN at the moment, third option downloads the full game for free. Might also be the same in other PAL regions.

Holy fuq I just learned that Gamestop has Tearaway at 10€(new; 8€ used) but it's probably too late since my local GS hasn't anymore copies :(

Thanks for the heads up.

With just €2 difference, I hope you buy it new so Media Molecule gets some of that money. They deserve it.

So uh, I'm kinda new to this games being removed thing... I bought the Persona 2/Persona 3 Portable pack and I assume the former was removed from the store because of the exploit... but I can't find it in my download list either? What's up with that?

They're completely removed from everything until the security breach is fixed. I'm surprised it isn't back up now that 3.whatever came out last week.
