Warframe launching in September on Xbox One

Tried it out on ps4 and just couldn't get into it.

Not sure if it was just the overly long tedious tutorial or that I was auto matched with other players? I can't remember really.

I just recently started playing on my PS4 and I can't stop playing. At least for me it's a lot of fun doing some wall running, sliding and then slicing enemies in half. So satisfying.

I wonder what they had to do to get past the parity clause unless it didn't apply to them.
That parity clause isn't as strict as some people make it out to be. You really think Microsoft is gonna say no to a popular game like this coming to their platform just because it was on PS4 first?

Cool. I was wanting to try out the PC version a few months ago, but my PC isn't good enough for it, so I never tried it. I'll download the Xbox One version when it's out.

I'm pretty sure it's one of those "F2P" not really F2P.

You are so very wrong about that. Pretty much everything is very obtainable through just playing the game. Only things that aren't are more color options and additional storage for more frames/weapons. You could easily hit endgame status without dropping a cent into it. Warframe is one of the huge examples of F2P done right.

Now whether people think the game itself is good or bad is entirely up to them. I had a good time with it for a while (though I don't play it really anymore). Was fun enough that I did give them a little bit of cash to support the devs.

Just to note; I played a ton of this on PS4 and had a little bit of time with the PC version before that. Honestly I'm glad to see it finally making it's way to Xbox One. They deserve a bit more exposure.

You map the powers to the d pad on an xbox style controller.

Either by toggling left to right to select , or mapping them to up down left right.

It's how I do it on the PC version, however it's far far better on the DS4.

I do have to admit; I loved that the powers were set to swiping on the touch pad on PS4. Made them extremely accessible.

Pretty cool, I couldn't get into this on PS4. I think I uninstalled it because I never played and had a few big updates to download. I found this game so confusing..

Yeah, a lot of stuff was pretty confusing when it released. I know they've made major UI improvements since then to give a better understanding of things, but I haven't played in a while. I can't really say how much that's helped. Maybe I'll fire it up and check out how far it's come along later today.

Oh, I also recommend not trying to play it solo. Even if you are a single player kind of person, this game is much better even playing with randoms. It's a real slog if you try to play solo. Sure, it sucks getting stuck in groups that just want to rush to the end of a level for farming reasons, but it's better than spending an hour in a level for really no reason at all, and in a group, at least teammates can resurrect you.

I'd compare it more to Phantasy Star Online. It's definitely about the grind, but the grind is a fun action game. Whereas Destiny is more of a traditional MMO, this is more of a co-op PvE game where you kill hordes of other stuff with other people while earning crafting materials for better loot.
A lot of people compare Destiny to PSO. Not saying the two games are totally the same. But they both scratch the same itch and Destiny scratches it better. Just saying, between Destiny and it requiring XBLG, I don't see it having a large community on Xbox One.

Update 14 overhauls the game menu system and completely changes the new player experience, introducing the player to the arsenal, foundry etc in a guided manner rather than just cutting the player loose. It hasn't released yet on PS4 so I can't comment but hopefully it helps make it less confusing.

This game is amazing. Xbox owners should definitely download it. It will ease the wait for those Fall titles.

Any idea if we can transfer our characters, platinum over from PS4 to x1 ? I/m guessing no, but it would be an amazing feature. Would love to play Warframe in between the Mcc, Cod this winter.

Good stuff. Exactly what the game needs. I stuck with it and figured everything out originally, but I could see why people may have dropped it early on before. It's definitely a great time killer once you understand everything.

I really doubt it. I know you were able to do a 1 time transfer between PC/PS4, but PS4/XBox One probably won't happen. Maybe PC/Xbox One is likely.

Glad people will be able to play it. It's fun for a bit and has a very fair F2P system.

That said, it's Grind: The Game. Fun gameplay, but there are so few maps, so few mission types, very little "tactical" challenge, balance is a mess, there's no endgame, etc.

I enjoyed my 20 hours. Just a shame. So much wasted potential.

Basic repetitive TPS with co-op and lots of grinding and (at least when I played it) a plethora of technical issues. The parkour stuff would be cool but it controls janky as hell. Not bad for a free game but I didn't play it more than a couple days on PS4 when there was nothing at all to play.

On stream they specifically dated it for the 2nd of September.

Well, I know what I'm doing for the week leading up to Destiny.

I tried Warframe way back on PC. I had good first impressions, but had no one to play with. A couple weeks ago a friend and I tried it again (on PC again) and really got into it for a week or so. I even put some money into it. I'll probably transfer my progress over to Xbox One to play with friends there.

AFAIK there won't be a transfer at all.

I like Warframe since it gives me a lot of what I've been missing from not having PSO2 available to me, and from when I used to play Mass Effect 3 multiplayer with my buddies on 360 before they moved on to non-gaming ventures.

If you remotely liked Phantasy Star Online and ME3 Multiplayer, Warframe is worth a try.

It's pretty fair as far as F2P games go, the majority of things you can buy with premium currency that are needed to get better at the game can be found and made for free. Cosmetics are the biggest thing that can only be bought with premium currency.

Got 481 hours logged on Steam for this game atm.
Until Unturned and Robocraft recently came out, Warframe for a long time was the most popular non-Valve F2P on Steam.

About time!

DE really should get their priorities right and fix the problems with the game on the other two platforms before wasting time on another console.

They struggle getting the game to run at a decent rate on a far superior console than the X1 already, I can only see the monkeys on their console dev team making a complete balls up of this.

Glad XB1 players would get to try it out!

Too bad the game can't be cross-platform, it'll help in making a nice console install base.

I wonder how they'll map the magic on the Xbox controller. Swiping up/down/left/right for different attacks made me a believer in the touchpad on the DS4.

mmmm so good, especially with spamming.

At least you guys will get a decent tutorial since it will ship with Update 14. I dumped a stupid amount of time in this and still play it almost daily because I have a decent amount of followers on twitch (streaming is what keeps me going). I doubt any game will come close to it in terms of play time on my PS4.
Tip: the PS4 version had really high prices for rare mods and stuff when it came out so if you want to make some platinum without spending money just farm the rare mods and items and sell it on the trading market. ;)

Gonna need the detail on the p's and fps's.

I would say not to trust any mentions of a specific number for the framerate.

The PS4 version has been all over the place (but constantly improving over time). I would take any mentions of 60fps with a grain of salt, and would rather see a proper analysis over a longer period of playtime.

Never really understood this game. Dabbled in it a bit on PC and PS4, but I guess I could have put more time into it. Never got a handle on how the game worked. May give it another try on XB1.

Played the tutorial level and the first mission and so far I'm kinda of digging the game. The downside is when trying to play the second mission the game crashes on you.
