Rumour: Nintendo working on a Remaster for 2015

If it turns out to be Xenoblade like someone said, I'd flip out with joy. Xenoblade was one of my top games last gen, and an HD version of it would be amazing.

Honestly though, I feel like I'd be happy with whatever it is, since Nintendo seems to know what gamers would enjoy.

They're not gonna do a N3DS AND HD remaster. That'd be silly.

I don't think you realize how much software Nintendo is pumping out on a regular basis. Compare that with any of the other platform holders and they will pale in comparison. They're supporting TWO platforms with software throughout a year. And they have more first party releases for both generally...
I realise how much Nintendo's developers are working, but in this day and age, missing out on essentially the entire third party library is inexcusable, and as a consumer, I don't really care why that is, every other console has first and third party, Nintendo is doing nothing to achieve this equilibrium.

Maybe Xenoblade 1 bundled with Xenoblade X à la Bayonetta?

It's definitely not Xenoblade 3D. That's a downgraded port, the exact opposite of a remaster.

What does that have to do with what you said before, though? So because EA, Ubisoft, etc aren't releasing their AAA titles on the system, Nintendo needs to magically pull 10-20 more games out of their hat or they're failing you, the customer? Is that what you're saying?!

No I expect Nintendo to convince them to make games for their consoles, watever that takes, Nintendo knows its not hard and that it can be done, but they choose not to due to their aged philosophy of being first party first and third party a distant...well third. Their actions regarding past and present system fully shows they are ignoring a big chunk of the marketshare, all for the sake of "uniqueness", rather than trying to achieve a balanced spot where both uniqueness and hardware that is ideal for third party games.

There is no "convincing." There is only improving sales of the system OR handing out the big bags of cash. The latter of which sets a ridiculous precedent and is a waste of cash ultimately and the former is what they're doing by releasing the games they are working on. How you can frame this as a "philosophy" of "bare minimum" support seems absolutely crazy to me.

I would love to see an updated kirby air ride, but I really doubt it. That game with online city trial would be so great.

Improving system sales, really? So when should I expect Destiny on the Wii U?

It will be a Mario Game. As of right now they don't have one for the future and have used 2d and 3d, kart, sports, and party already.... Soooooooo, a remaster seems like a safe bet.

it'll take a lot of resources and cannibalizes itself.

It probably will take a lot of resources, but Nintendo does what Nintendo wants. Like adding Bayonetta for free with Bayonetta 2. I like this about them.

As for sales overlapping, I don't think this would be as much a problem as you think. Majority of people wanted an HD release and wouldn't pick up the 3DS release, especially since you need to buy a New 3DS.

Anyways, I'm just hoping it happens. Not saying it will or it would make sense business-wise.

Mario is their bread and butter, they'd rather release a new game.

It'll be anything but Mario.

My most wanted in order.

Twilight Princess
Skyward Sword
Xenoblade
Mario Galaxy 1/2
Metroid Prime Trilogy

Not taking into account how likely or impossible the possibility, just in terms of what I want most.

I think this will be a updated title to prepare for a big E3 announcement or something for the summer before the big fall titles of 2015.

get some go again
mario 3d collection with mario 64 and the galaxy games would be great. hopefully most of the work would go into updating mario 64.

Don't apply Microsoft/Sony logic to Nintendo.

Given the fact 3D World hasn't been out long and they're currently working on the next iteration, I highly doubt it's Galaxy. That game looks fine as-is.

Fire Emblem makes sense, as I expect it to be a genre that is lacking in their AAA offerings for the year. So FE, SMG, or Luigi's Mansion fit the most imo

I think it will be Metroid Prime Trilogy HD. I already own the Wii version, and wouldn't buy it, but I think it would be a great idea, the game is awesome, hard to find in stores at good prices, and there's lots of demand.

I think this, too.

Might as well gauge the interest levels for a new Metroid Prime, by releasing a new "Definitive" version of the trilogy, first.

If it at all helps the Metroid series get back on track by helping to redefine 3D Metroid back to Prime, I'd take it.

They should remake the graphics and make some minor changes to the bosses and lore

Fire Emblem Path of Radiance + Radiant Dawn HD in one package! 1080P FMVs and new dubbing!
They would have to come up with completely new models and textures for that to look good at all in HD.

I would buy it only if they added support conversations to Radiant Dawn.

Remasters I'd buy:
SMG (1, 2 or both. Amazing games)
F-Zero GX (add online multiplayer, spruce up the graphics on level three and you're golden)

Hoping for Super Mario Sunshine or Super Mario Galaxy 1/2.

I'll take The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess as well :3.

Wouldnt mind Metroid Prime Trilogy though.

Probably the only person in the world who wants it but I would kill for an updated Super Metroid.
After seeing the hi-res image that someone made of the Mother Brain fight, I've been wanting the same thing. Just the same game with outstanding 3D models. If they did it the way that JAW did Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty, I would buy it twice.

As others have said, a Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 HD remaster would be great and a day 1 purchase.

Add in the rest of the gang (toad, peach, rosalina) from super Mario 3d world and you've got an amazing remaster on your hands.

Most Wanted:
1. Metroid Prime HD Collection
2. Super Mario Galaxy Collection
3. Eternal Darkness Remake
4. Twilight Princess Remake
5. Fire Emblem Radiant Collection
6. Paper Mario and the 1000 Year Door HD
