The TTK is ridiculously low. Wow. I'm getting insta-killed the moment I see enemies.

I have faith in visceral changing the TTK. They have been pretty vocal about listening to the community. Hopefully everyone is yelling about it

Having a lot of fun with this on the conquest map. (Dust bowl).
I don't know, maybe just placebo effect but the shooting feels more responsive, the hit reaction is better, ironically the shooting feels closer to the original BF4 where it felt awesome and somehow got worse in the retail game.
Are the texture settings not working on pc? They're pretty ugly. Besides that game runs like a dream and loads tons faster than BF4 even though it's not even installed on SSD.
Police vs Robbers feels a bit stupid with all the helicopters flying around but I tell myself it's just a game. The different dialog and music adds to the ambiance, and the winning music at the end of the round gets me pumped up for more.

Been playing on the xbox 1. Been disconnected from a few games, always at the end of the round too, right before its over. Thats kind of annoying to be honest. Graphics arent as bad as the pictures on here show, but they arent better by much, yet again Ive never really cared about graphics.
Im liking heist mode. Conquest was its usual self, not bad. Hotwire is fun as hell as long as your playing with decent players. I dont know, I think im going to bite on it for the xbox one since so many of my friends are also getting it so at least Ill be able to play with them. COD AW was a complete multiplayer let down for me so I want something to play.

You know Visceral screwed up the next gen versions when the Xbox 360 version looks like the Xbox One version with the occasional softer texture and a lower resolution.
Performance is an absolute piss pot last gen though.

regarding the visuals, hasn't every Battlefield beta scaled down texture resolution to make the downloadable smaller? I feel like this same criticism comes up every time, but ends up being alright in the retail release.

Indeed, the worst aspect of the map by far. Also, I really hate the TTK. Sometimes it feels like I'm getting killed in under 2 seconds flat in very close quarters.
Would probably be more accurate to label frostbite netcode as the bug considering the entire thing doesn't work as it should. I still get 1 hit killed in BF4 a lot as it can't cope with syncing people walking round corners accurately.

This is really weird. Battlefield 4 was oe of the better looking launch games at the Ps4 launch and frostbite 2 seemed to have a lot of potential. What is going on?

this is an annual cod type rehash. minimal improvements to the engine and all...they just took the BF4 engine and made a cops and robbers game with it.
for actual improvements in tech, I would wait for Battlefront

Performance is better than Battlefield 4 on every single platform so as far as the technical stuff is concerned, I can understand the visual scale backs.

It's also a beta. The BF4 beta looked god damn awful compared to the final release. It wouldn't make sense for them to include full textures and everything in the beta, as that would just increase the size of the download.

Yeah, looking at this I get the impression that any upgrades done for Dragon Age were the last updates that went into the cross-generation version of Frostbite, and those weren't optimized for 60 FPS.
I do think it's not improbably we will at least see the upgrades from BF4 -> BF4: End Game though in the final product.
It's been posted here in this thread multiple times, the devs said this is very near final in terms of graphics.

seems like they made all the right compromises IMO. BF4 launch was a disaster, conquest didnt work at all, the game was 900p, the frame rate was not that great (I usually play the PC version but I jump on PS4 to play with friends and its not even close to 60 fps, at least not on the DLC maps). Here comes viseral with an alpha and a beta, they toned down the graphics but at least this allows the game to hit 60fps the majority of the time and the IQ is cleaner than BF4 (im stricly comparing the PS4 versions here). At the end of day all i want is for the game to be fun, play smooth, and not have issues. seems like that is what they are aiming for and I like it.

a dev on twitter already said the graphics are near final and not to expect any improvements.
How were the graphics upgraded from BF4 to BF4 end game? Only the programmers at Dice Sweden have the talent to upgrade this engine, both Bioware and the studio that made this game don't really have the programming talent to make any tangible upgrades to this engine.

This is basically how I feel. Having BF4 and only just getting Premium when it dropped to 20, I'm still thinking I'll wait on a price drop for this, though.

Have they said whether Battlefront is going to be cross-gen or only current gen? I'd like to see what DICE can do with Frostbite once they can forget about having to make concessions for 360/PS3 versions of Frostbite games.
I think what BioWare did with Frostbite was likely only applicable to making Frostbite capable of making RPGs. Things like having conversations and dialogue tools and that sort of thing. Which is probably super helpful to other BioWare teams using the engine for their games since they can just piggyback off of the work that was done for Inquisition in Frostbite. But in terms of more technical improvements to the engine, yeah, its probably only the DICE folks in Sweden pushing that.

If the bullet lag is gone, runs at 60fps, and the sound is incredible, I'm interested, but gameplay and a compelling reason to work together versus being an achievement seeking lone wolf will make or break this game for me.
And even if they had not confirmed it being near final graphics wise, it makes no sense to gimp the way the game looks intentionally just to save a few gigs of download size...
This isn't just a beta test, it's also a promotional tool and they probably want the game to look and play as good as possible in order to create good buzz before release.
