So German PC gaming magazine Gamestar has released a FAQ on Homeworld Remastered.
There is also some pretty comparison pictures and a picture showing the HW1 mothership in bright pink.
Soooo there is some good things and bad things, heres a translated summary (more info about each subject in the link):
Also keep in mind this is still the preview version of the game. The final version may be different (however doubtful considering it releases in a couple of weeks.)

I shamefully stole that summary from Karl1984 from Gearbox Forum-It seems like they implanted the dynamic difficulty level from HW2 into HW1, so the more ships you have, the more difficult it gets. But they have to play it longer to verify that.
-Fighters in HW1 don't need to refuel anymore.
-Ships have to dock for repairs instead of using a repair beam.
-There is still no timelapse feature at the end of the missions in HW1, so you still have to collect all the resources in real time after a mission *EDIT: You can apparently enable it in a config file, however it is unstable*.
While in HW2 there is still no possbility to end the mission yourself like in HW1.
-The controls in HW1 are now like in HW2 so you don't have to press "m" for example to give a move order.
-DoF can be turned off in the graphic options. There are the setting "on", "off" or "in cutscenes only"
-The preview version still has some bugs such as: Harvesters that won't dock correctly at the mothership. Some voice output is overlapping, subtitles disappear to fast. AI switches to idle mode sometimes. If you build a single fighter in HW1 you will hear the message "interceptor squadron complete" from HW2 when buildung is finished. The HUD is scalable in 4 steps, but in standard mode it's far to small and the next bigger mode is far to big, while the biggest is almost covering the entire screen.
-You can change the color of your ships in HW1 but there is no more possibility to play as the Taiidan.
-There will be modding tools, but they won't be available when the game is released.
-The game is released in an english version only, but the HUD and subtitles are avaiable in other languages too.
-Formations from HW1 were implanted into HW2.
Also keep in mind this is still the preview version of the game. The final version may be different (however doubtful considering it releases in a couple of weeks.)
