I'm not sure if I'd be really interested in such a trilogy to be honest. I liked the first episode because it was something new and different, but I never played the sequels.
We know there's one being made, so it's not an "either/or" scenario. The MCC collection didn't stop Halo5 from being developed.
You're right. It's just after how MCC turned out, I'm burned out on remasters.

The nonsense that would happen with extremely laggy hosts led to some of the most infuriating moments in gaming for me.
This series would really benefit from dedicated servers. Let's just hope that if they advertise dedicated servers for this collection, they mean it.

Now another little titbit probably worth discussing is that Max from Certain Affinity said on the Unlocked podcast a while back that they were working on an upcoming Q4 title and were handling "all the multiplayer", which is funnily enough what they did on Halo: TMCC...

Normally, I'd be like "why not 60fps?" but after how the MCC turned out I think a more conservative approach would be better.

I would think this collection would be in September or Mid October and Halo (if it releases this year, would be November. Everything else sounds right. Though I wouldn't mind if they just skipped all the bs and announce Gears of War 4.
I think it would be called Gear of War: Delta Squad Collection. I don't think Marcus Fenix has as much cachet.

If this was 60FPS and actually works (MCC) then I'd be one happy camper. GoW online is the best console online shooter.
All signs are pointing to an earlier than normal release for Halo.

Only thing I want from this collection when it eventually happens is for GoW 3's horde mode to still be intact. Love the hell out of horde. Killing Floor is the only game that comes even remotely close to matching it.

MS owns the Gears of War franchise. The chance of this coming to PS4 is the same as Halo coming to PS4.

Thanks for sharing this bit of information, I have not seen heard about this. I would still question what would MS want to lead as their holiday money maker. Making Halo wait until November would seem more profitable since more people would purchase that over Gears but they would also get the sales of those who can't wait for a game and buy the Gears collection earlier. Either way, I'm hoping for good news this E3 about both Gears and Halo for this year.

It does actually. Its why people who say GoOW or GeOW look ridiculous to me. In almost all cases you can easily tell which game is being referred to making any clarification unnecessary. This thread title being an example. They are equally huge franchises, something like this would only he necessary if one was obscure.

Will buy 2-3 months after release. Hedging my bets against another MCC shit-fest and buying after a price drop makes sense.

As nice as it'd be, it doesn't need it. Gears is one of the few games where I'd rather see the visuals cranked up than the framerate.
I don't think doing this would be as hard. All of the Gears games are from the same system.
Don't think they would do the "two engines running at the same time" stuff either.

Yep, Gears of War may even have it beat in total sales, and even worse if you don't include all of the God of War spinoffs.
And because no one in their right mind would want to play Judgement over the others, at leas in MP.

Yeah, but after they got both Halo 3 and especially 4 running 1080p@60fps in the transition from the 360 to the One, I'm optimistic they can make it just fine.
+Add to your list the extra level the PC version had of Gears 1!
