Whether we are meant to have them or not - many people do get perfect legendaries one way or another, and this makes it harder for newer or less obsessive fans to enter the competitive scene. I think having them locked at 5 perfect stats would be a pretty good idea exclusively for legendaries tbh. I mean...IV's exist as a way to have some variation between Pokemon of the same species, right? But many of these legendary Pokemon are supposed to be the only ones of their kind anyway, so they might as well all have the same stats to go along with that.

In lore sure, but mechanically Diancie is a completely separate entity that was first introduced as its weakest form with the mega evolution introduced later.

So this blob thing has me wondering something. What if Game Freak's remake team is working on Pokemon Z right now intending to launch early next year while the main team is working on Gen VII intending to launch either late next year or early 2017.

I highly doubt a third version and a new gen will come out in the same year, that wouldn't make much business sense.
If I recall, Munchlax was revealed rather early (like 2 years before DP), so its possible Nintendo, TPC, and Gamefreak just want to start marketing gen 7 early.

Yeah I don't understand how a "That guy's is just straight up better than yours because he got lucky, deal with it" is supposed to fly in a competitive game. The mythical kid with the extra powerful Zapdos was a nice idea when Pokemon was confined to the schoolyard, not so much nowadays.
Well, people who have seen the new Pokemon movie are reporting that they saw this thing teased for the next movie, and the last time anyone took a picture of a new Pokemon tease, they got in huge trouble by Nintendo... So these aren't ordinary scribbles! This is basically like a makeshift Pokemon reveal in a way!
Now what this thing really is, what generation its going to be in, what role it plays... that's a big mystery!

I really find it amusing that we have to speculate this tease from crude sketches; if this wasn't a Japanese movie/Nintendo or TPC related, the whole scene probably would've leaked in high quality by now!

Granted, I'd be more inclined to believe that if we've seen the Gen 6.5 game, but I don't know what it'd be a new Form/Mega of. Maybe it is Zygarde, and it's small to juxtapose the collosal Form we think was teased?

I'm pretty sure the only reason why the leap up to Gen IV lasted two years is because Diamond and Pearl were delayed. The only reason I can think for them starting teasing Gen VII with next year's movie is because they want to release Gen VII by Spring 2017.

Diamond and Pearl were meant to come out at the end of 2005, and Munchlax was in the Deoxys movie in 2004. If this is a new Pokemon, and it is to tease Gen VII, there's no reason why Gen VII has to be out before Autumn 2017; even had DP gone to plan, it still would have been a year and a half.

Right, forgot that there were actually 3 Gen III movies with Gen IV Pokemon. It would still be a bit abnormally early still a bit early, though, just not unprecedented..

At the same time with the way they've changed their marketing with Gens V and VI I feel like they don't want to reveal new Pokemon long before the hype train for the game starts. I just feel like a Gen VII Pokemon in the 2016 movie would mean it'd be coming within 1 year of the movie.

If they make Z, I think they need to fill the noticeably small X/Y roster since it was about 30 Pokemon short or so compare to all the past gens which usually added around 100 or so Pokemon each gen. Doubt that would happen though.
I think it's pretty much impossible to tell when gen 7 is gonna land without know Nintendo's plans for the next handheld, so I think this is probably Zygarde related. Pokemon Z/X2Y2 will probably come out Fall 2016 for the 3DS. I just can't see them teasing gen 7 already if they can't really reveal the games because it's on a platform that isn't revealed yet. If gen 7 comes out in 2017, while not unheard of, this seems really early to tease it.

I don't think many are suggesting that the NEXT game is Gen VII, all signs point to the next game coming out in February of 2016, which would be before this movie even.
I think we could very well see Pokemon releases shift to the first half of the year for a bit, with Gen VII starting in Spring of 2017 on NX, a year-ish after the final Gen VI game(February 2016).
Just throwing dates out there I think the following release schedule would make sense(This isn't me "predicting" or anything, just giving an example).
Z- February 2016
Gen VII- Spring 2017
D/P Remakes- between Fall 2018 and Spring 2019
Final Gen VII game- between Fall 2019 and Spring 2020

Yeah I'd like for that to be the case and they just have a small amount of new pokemon in Z. It could be a way to add a bit more umph to the 20th anniversary of the series.

Game Freak does have a habit of giving each handheld its own generation, including the stopgap ones (Gen II on GBC, Gen V on DSi).
That said, I do think they may break the pattern this time. The NX handheld could potentially be out only a few months after Z releases.
There are pretty good reasons why we normally only get sketches of these things. Japan takes movie piracy pretty seriously from what I've heard. I don't know exactly what NeoGaf's policy on these pictures is, but it seems pretty likely to me that they would be treated similarly to magazine scans.
But, like I said before, this is a situation where you should probably PM a mod to make sure it's okay first. They're the ones who decide whether or not it's okay.
