This thread is for stupid GAMING questions that don't deserve their own thread

Upgraded my ps4 hdd and am using that old drive on my bone. Works great but I was just wondering why do games have different tiles between the 2 drives?

MCC has the Helmut on the internal but external has the space debris picture.

I saw this TV at a thrift shop for $15.. I saw it was a Sony Trinitron which I think is good?

Do you think I should buy it? Any brands or things to look out for when you're looking for old CRTs?

I'm trying to sort/organize my old video game stuff, and came across this thing I would like to identify:

nGZyqmp.jpg

It looks like something for the Wii (I don't have a Wii U) or possibly DS Lite. Probably some kind of cleaning tool?

Anyone have any ideas?

Edit: I guess I should have put something that shows the size, it's about 3.5"

Looks like it's for opening or removing something, but I have no idea what. The N64 memory expansion, for instance, came with a little tool to pry out the dummy cart sitting in the slot. Not saying this is that, it looked nothing like this, just I get the sense it might have a similar sort of use on something else.

Can anyone see a good move to make in this solitaire game?

I've played this specific variant of the game on this website for months and every once in a while I swear I run into an instance where there is no good starting move [i.e. the game isn't solvable] but I'm also really bad at it so what do I know?

This variant has no reserve or deck. You simply move cards around as per basic solitaire rules and uncover new cards by freeing them up [moving the card on top of the stack elsewhere]

Game is here

The only two moves I can see to start are

1) moving the 4 of clubs in the middle to the red five to its right

2) moving the queen of spades in the far right to the king on the far left

Both moves would only free up red fours which does nothing to free up more cards as I have no black 3s

Fun game thanks for showing me. One thing though, it's not quite the standard rules since you can move cards with cards under them not fitting.

You are right that it's unwinnable in that pic. Your bottom row is all red, so you can only move black. No black moves help except the two you said, but then you are still stuck.

Can I backup ps vita/ps1/psp/psn games to an external drive? Maybe by changing the destination folder location on the content manager?
My laptop doesn't have a very large hdd, and I still haven't bought an external drive.

Yeah, sure. The Content Manager can save to any drive/folder you want (right click on the icon->Preferences).

Thanks for the second set of eyes. Was driving me nuts.

And yeah I'm real bad at describing rules in scenarios like this.

Good to know it might not always be solvable

What was the point of the Vile encounter in Megaman X3? You find the teleporter to him at the bottom of a "pit" screen scroll, and he talks some shit before the fight... but then he just disappears when you defeat him. No upgrades, no parting commentary. He's just there. Is there another fight with him or?

EDIT: Apparently if you kill him in the secret level with his weakness, it'll keep him from showing up at endgame.

I'm not sure if this counts as a gaming question but here goes. Why do people still care about getting 100% in games? I was talking to a buddy of mine recently and he said he had to platinum his game before he traded it in.

Is this some sort of weird OCD thing? Like if you really love a game and just enjoy the shit out of it I can see getting 100% of all the achievements just by playing it alot (I have every achievement in Binding of Isaac Rebirth because I put 250 hours into that game.)

But he was talking like this was something he HAD to do before trading in the game.

Can someone explain this to me. Are there people who don't necessarily enjoy the game/grind for the achievements they are doing but still feel compelled to get them all anyway?

Weird OCD: Get everything out of the game / finish it!

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME! I loved the game Glover as a kid and I want to beat it now BUT FOR THE LIFE OF ME I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO END A GOD DAMN LEVEL!

I brought the ball into the glowing portal, and I've tried every button and technique. I see in other videos that people just hold the ball and then glover spins it on his finger and the level ends. I'm in the tutorial right now and I can't get him to end the level. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME! :D

What would I need to get to get a Famicom to work on a newer, HDTV?(if possible, I can bring it to an older TV) I'm probably going to need to replace this RF cable with something, it seems.

Guys I'm about to start Dead Space 1 for the first time ever.

Normal or Hard mode? Which of the two would give me the best first time experience?

Why do only Nintendo Systems have games named after the system they are on?

There's a Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance (3D's)

Kirby Triple Deluxe (Once again a play on 3D)

And Metal Gear Solid 3D but I can't think of any games that have Vita worked into the name on that system.

Same goes for WiiU. Tons of Games with a U or some play on it in the title (ZombiU, New Super Mario Bros U, and Lego City Undercover but I can't think of any PS4 or Xbox One games that have their names or Suffix worked into the title.

Is it actually possible to have a pacifist run for the Last of Us? Or how much pacifist can you get there?

Also, how much occult imaginary does Persona 4 has? I remember the first one directly stated it's about demon summoning and all that stuff, and the SMT games can get pretty heavy with that, but the 4th game seems to have removed all of that?

You can get close to it but there are parts where you'll need to kill to proceed. If you're really dedicated to it I bet you could do about 95% of the game without kills though.

Is Alien Isolation really that good? It's sat in my backlog for around 6 months now, and I've just not been interested in playing it... At all.

Can I somehow use PS+ on the PSN website without actually having a PS4? I'm planning on buying one in the neat future, but I want to get Rocket League and Styx before they're gone.

In its core it's great. Heavy focus on stealth and great, claustrophobic atmosphere on par with the films. But the biggest issue I have with it is its slow and sometimes frankly boring pacing. On average it'll take you around 25/30 hours whereas I thought it would be much, much better if it was cut in half. It really hurts the pacing in my opinion.

Yes, you can have a PS+ sub and add the games to your purchased/download list. If the sub ever runs out, the games on your download list will still be there, just inaccessible until the sub is renewed.

Yes you can and even when you do get a PS4 I recommend you continue getting the games via the website. You can see and dl all games at once whereas on the ps4 itself it only shows you the ps4 games (even if you can play the PS3/vita games on the ps4).

Sorry for double post but I have my own question: is there any talk of Gone Home or South Park Stick of Truth getting released on PS4 or XB1?

I think this post is what this thread was made for. Are there any Texas hold 'em poker video games (preferably for the Wii) that offer local multiplayer? I was thinking of one way it could be done with the Wiimote speakers. You could hold the Wiimote up to your ear, press a button, and you could hear what cards you have without others finding out your hand.

I can't answer the question directly, but I do seem to recall hearing that there was a multiplayer mode in Red Steel which used the speakers in a similar way - so in principle, it's possible..
