As always I'm way behind the chat, El Ligero I can't see ever getting a call up, he's a grafter and guaranteed a great match from him but I don't think he has the spark they would look for, plus you can tell he's not the best looking even with the mask!

Anyone know much about Hugo Knox? He's the ex footballer who's in NXT currently rocking polka dot trunks, great physique but I'm not expecting to see him make it to TV

Just realised Mike Bailey in Lucha Underground might mean we could get a Karate Kid inspired storyline for season 2. I love this idea so much!

this was the best show

Battle-Dome-Terry-Crews.jpg

The only thing I remember from Battle Dome beyond Michael O'Hearn being on it is Caryn Mower making whatever the show called their female "gladiators" look like complete chumps. Probably because I'm bias from interacting with her here and there since 2000 but think WWE blew it with her and that Stephanie personal trainer angle was doomed from the start. Then the old creative not coming up with anything for her BS. That might've had something to do with "the Kat" and Lawler's pushing to get her into angles. She was not well liked...

Gang Warfare has broken out on RAW. DOA, being basically a neo-nazi biker gang, get cheered on their debut against the now 100% black Nation of Domination because of course they do. Not that both aren't heels. 1997 is the year of heel on heel violence. In fact this might be a good time for the update to my late 1996 post about who is heel and who is face in the Fed in the summer of 1997.

Undertaker was a face who did slightly heel things. Is the same, except he's being blackmailed. Also circumstances have forced him back into the Taker zone despite being, you know, the Champion.

Austin was a heel, and evil, but treated like a face. Now he's slightly less evil, and treated like an even bigger face. Par for the course.

HBK was a whiny face who did heel things that the fans treated as a tweener and has basically remained the same. Had to help a special olympian to get a face reaction at KotR.

Bret was a whiny face who did some very subtle heel things but was treated as a face, and is now an evil anti american blowheart who also never tells a lie and is the most hated man in America. Has repaired his long standing family feud, and now leads the best faction in the history of the WWF. Also manages to get heat while getting beat up in a wheelchair every week. Note that they are days away from starting a Canadian tour.

Sid is/was/always will be the MASTER AND RULER OF THE UNIVERSE. He was a face doing heel things to get the belt, but was treated as the biggest face in the company. He's now just come back as a pure face, treated as a face.

Mankind was a heel doing evil and wacky shit to Undertaker. Now he is a face just looking for love from SCSA.

Ahmed was a face, treated as a face. Now he's a heel who joined the people he was seeking revenge against because, well, too many uppercard faces.

Farooq was a heel, treated as a heel. Nothing changed, except they finally decided to play the race card hard in their black panther knock off gimmick.

Goldust was a heel, who got basically no reaction. Now he's a face, getting a strong reaction. He's also gone from freaky sexual predator to freaky family man.

HHH was a floundering heel who got a mild heel reaction. Now he's a super heel because his lady body guard just dismantles everyone. Also got the sweetest theme song upgrade in history.

I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I've been racking my brain trying to remember this womans match. I forget her name I think it was Kong but google search aint helping. It was a mid 90's match. With two Japanese woman's wrestlers and it was a squash match. It was pretty damn brutal too. I was telling a friend that Nia Jax was being built up as her and it's driving me crazy trying to search for the clip. Any help would be appreciated.

And he turned face by giving good ol JR the mandible claw for asking him a question he didn't like. (Did you bring this all on yourself?) It's great that they knew that would work.

Um dude, these people aren't just entertainment for your sake. They are people too. Cheering on any thoughts of real serious injuries whether a work or real is pretty callous. You ever hung out with any of the older dudes? I chatted it up with Tommy Rich and Harley Race a few times...they're a couple of old timers who couldn't let it go. They're falling apart physically. Its fucking tragic what this industry does to these folks and cheering on the prospect of major injuries bugs me.

If you ever see Mick Foley at a signing sometime watch how hard it is for him to get into and out of chairs and tell me its cool to hope folks get hurt and end up like that.

I believe the point of the gif is that Bryan is clearly trying not to laugh.

Is that really the case? I always felt that it looked that way but wasn't sure.

It's actually a result of the neck brace and doctor's hands pulling on the sides of his face and making it look like he's smiling.

Late as always, finally got around to NXT-

Not sure what I think about Nia Jax. Debut was so so. I like her finisher though..simple but brutal. Crowd counted expecting a Corbin-like squash...glad it wasn't.

Please....PLEASE let this teasing of a Joe heel turn somehow end with him not turning at all and Balor turning heel.

Speaking of Balor......I like him.....I do....but I'm kinda over it at this point. He's been so painfully AVERAGE and I honestly think the paint and entrance is more over than him. Every Takeover I hope to see what others see in him and it just isn't there.....and I HATE the Coup De Grace as a finisher. He's not terrible but not nearly as great as they try to portray him as and his run has been boring so far.
