I know, opinions and everything, but WHAT at the bolded? Overwatch has a level of polish that Smite couldn't even dream of....
Been playing fighting games competitively and casually for about 15 years now...absolutely not my first rodeo with different characters and abilities.

It's too late. I love it. So many characters. I think about the game even when not playing it, and that never happens to me. I mean, I've been loving DOOM and Dark Souls 3, but man Overwatch is just something else. Like crack to my brain.

That's a bit extreme, I made it 30 seconds. But right off the bat I recognized it as that guy who overreacts to announcements like Cloud in Smash.

Hmm. I need the answer to this as well. It's obviously a team effort. Those turrets need to go first since they'll shred anything attacking the shield. Reaper doesn't have that range on his Tele.
I think Reinhardt escorting a strike team with a sniper through the doorway into the left side entrance should set up a good flank. It'll at least divide their attention. The shield can't block an attack on both fronts.

Can't really call it the exception anymore. It's basically a standard 'feature' now.
Unless you count DLC as microtransactions, I don't think that many games feature them on consoles.

I suck at multi FPS. Bought Overwaxh yesterday due to the hype and art style.
Couldn't stop playing. Still suck though so mostly play with Mercy so all I have to do is heal my mates.
Spent $20 on micro so far. Got the skin I wanted for Pharah and D.Va. Still need the Legenday skin for Mercy and the Punk for Tracer.
Send help. Can't decide if I should shower or keep playing.

This isn't necessarily true. I don't like FPS games, normally, unless there is a horror theme. Overwatch does not have a horror theme. I don't normally like playing online either. Usually because I am awful compared to everyone else. Overwatch is pretty accessible. I'm definitely not as good as a lot of people, but it's still fun because it's so easy to contribute.

Overwatch is dangerous. It's luring 12 year old children into addiction with its cartoony graphics, and then the children are getting invited into the Overwatch porn community, where they are watching obscene acts which robs them of their innocence. Blizzard are grooming children into buying alternative skins.

It looks very messy, and maps seem too small, and I don't think there's too many game modes. So I haven't bought it.
Yet....I can't stop watching it.
I can't buy it on PC because I use a controller and I'd get destroyed, and I refuse (for now) to buy it on PS4 because it costs way more than the PC version for no reason, especially in Canadian dollars.

It's OK and I have been having fun playing it.
My big issue is that it feels like a 2016 Little league game with everybody getting credit for kills and the way the end leader board is done. Whoo Hoo, everyone is a winner!

I'm as casual as you can get when it comes to gaming. I play an average of 2 hours a day for most games and sometimes I can go entire days without playing a single game.
When I first played Overwatch, I clocked in over 10 hours and I haven't even tried all the heroes yet! It really is that good.

You're not going to find a lot of patience with people here on this matter, but I like to try to be constructive in all situations so I'll offer some advice and if you don't get banned it will be very helpful for you in the future. Have you ever noticed foreigners having trouble understanding an Irish person speaking with their accent and vernacular, especially when excited? That isn't exactly the speaker's problem, is it? They are who they are, they are what they are, they are from where they are from. If everyone was to conform to a "standard" of the most powerful nearby culture then Ireland would have stopped being Irish a long time ago.
I get that multicultural interactions are probably much less of a thing over there, but try to have some self-awareness. If you can understand how a person might find a person "speaking very Irish" hard to understand or annoying, yet how that is their own problem, then think how the same is true of you with peoples you are unfamiliar with. If I go to Singapore I'm going to expect their own way of using English which is different. If I go to rural southern states here in the US I'm going to expect them to speak differently.
Yeah, there are "standards" that are used for the news and whatnot, but those are essentially ethnocentric and classist, perhaps arguably a pragmatic standard for sake of their own medium. One may expect business to operate with its own culture and conformity but just a casual youtube is going to be personal and should be received as such. Tens of millions of people are very comfortable with the way he's speaking. A subculture doesn't need to be its own island or country to be legitimate (that's not a knock on Ireland, my own heritage is Irish, I'm just pointing out that people are usually go to islands with an open attitude expecting a unique culture and speech).
And if you do actually consider a heavy Irish way of speaking as "improper" and something to be "corrected in this day and age" then that is something here in the US we would call internalized racism.
Name a couple multiplayer shooters that don't have any kind of post-release, paid content for me.
Now of all those you just listed how many of them contain said post-release, paid content that isn't gameplay relevant in any way.

I feel very much the same way. I played enough of the beta to realize that a full-game purchase wouldn't really be worth the money. It's fun, but not something I could play for hours on end like the video suggests. Certainly not something I was dying to play again whenever I had to put it down.
Different strokes and such.
Multiplayer shooters are a subset of retail games, not the other way around.

It got great reviews, apparently sold tons of copies and people fiercely defend the game.
I gave it a few hours and it feels like the most shallow sandbox shoot'em up with only 2 tangible game modes and zero progression or gameplay customization.
Why am I not feeling this game? I'm starting to think there is something wrong with ME!

I have like 30+ hours of this thing played and it hasn't been out a week. I was up until 2 a.m. last night. I think the last time I stayed up until 2 a.m. for a game was a decade ago.

Buddy.. It's just called "slang". Ebonics is kind of reserved for some specifically ignorant types of english, and it's a pretty offensive word. Ebony-phonics = Ebonics. Like... If he's black and even if he had an accent, it wouldn't automatically equal "ebonics". Plus its just an outdated term.
Just say you don't like how the guy talks and be more specific next time, you might find people will agree with you.
