This is sad.

My girlfriend's brother is an alcoholic. I see him drink more than 10 drinks every time I see him. Thank fucking god he never drives and isn't a mean drunk person. He's actually way too functional while drunk for me. Never been around an alcoholic prior so it is very jarring. I'm used to drunk = hot mess cuz that's how everyone I know is. But he's functional.

edit: to clarify, he does all his drinking after work, so in the span of 3-4 hours as he crashes early.

10% being like that is really bad.

I had a very good friend like this. Drank immediately after work, nice mellow drunk. Unfortunately his health started failing, he tried to quit, wasn't prepared psychologically, and committed suicide.

:(

Rasss is still extra trash, guys. Other trash polls might reflect some trends relative to their inherit trashiness but Ras reflects what Ras *thinks* the trends are. Or they're in "spook the GOP" mode. Who knows? Only Ras does, and only we do a week before the election when Ras tries to look legit in the final polls.
My favorite was their press release of the poll where they're trumpeting that it's "Basically tied" like that's a good result for Trump....when he was ahead by whatever he was ahead by last week.

I was with my dad and we drove past his favorite hardware store, and the sign said "Trump" on it and I thought the worst for a second. My mind instantly wondered how a company could advertise they're racist bigots.

And then I looked again and the sign said "We have Trump and Hillary bumper stickers in stock!" and I calmed down

This election is making me think the worst of anyone who even casually supports Trump. Just by running he seems to be doing damage to the country.

I wonder how long it's going to take for the country to heal just from the Trump campaign.

I really believe that if Jill Stein could somehow magically figure out the time and date for a mass shooting she would probably use that information to show up for the aftermath and look brave for the cameras while she "helps" the victims.

So she's like the teacher in Heathers? That seems right.

The great thing about Gary's self proclaimed "Aleppo moment" is that he literally just wrote an op-ed about how he's the best choice this election, Johnson supporters go around spreading it like the gospel and then turns around and falls flat on his face hours later while making a joke calling back to his ignorance on the center of human suffering in the Middle East. I don't know how he keeps going like this, it's sadder than Jeb at this point.

So what's the over/under on Assange releasing something that actually affects Hillary's campaign between now and November 9th?

If it's more email BS then I'm not so sure it will actually affect her campaign.

Holy shit, Jill Stein edited herself into the debates

No, I meant that's not a result of the Rass poll. It was trending up before it. And as someone said, it went up about 1 percent after the Rass poll, i.e. it barely budged. Proving the point that you felt a need to disprove for some reason.

I don't think Rass is weighted that much. It's a bad polling company.

If an A poll shows a huge shift, his numbers will likely change dramatically.

Gary skipped that, the loser.

Of course Gary Johnson didn't show, he would've gotten pummeled by Jill Stein.

This is great. I am so sick of fake progressives like TYT bashing Stein, calling her kooky. Thanks DN for not following that idiotic pathway.

I have to give them credit, Democracy Now seem like true progressives, as opposed to everyone who didn't want to hear Jill Stein out before writing her off as crazy.

If only our misinformed and gullible population could hear Dr. Stein. She towers over Trump and Clinton. Her passion for peace, saving the environment, human rights, good healthcare and education for all, is expressed in some form every time she speaks. She is indeed a woman to be proud of. If only she could be the mother of our nation. What a coup it would be if we could have this great humanitarian physician as the people's president.

Notice how Jill Stein avoids personal attacks and sticks to the issues.

I agree in part, although you could argue that Republican leaning polls like Rass and LA Times should be factored in a bit more when they have huge shifts. If Hillary is doing well in Rass, it's almost certain she will do well in every other poll. And if she takes the lead in the LA times poll...then I guess there will be no more polls for Drudge to post on his website (except his non-scientific debate winner poll).

Gary skipped that, the loser.

Not attacking people who aren't there, who aren't even aware of you, days after the fact at a pretend debate is definitely something commendable. I didn't see this mentioned, but she was also very respectful towards Lester Holt.

And vice versa, Lester didn't once interrupt Jill.

Photoshopping yourself into the debate is pretty embarrassing.

Pretty pathetic couple of days for third parties. The desperation is setting in.
Next she'll photoshop herself into the swearing-in ceremony and will spend the next four years having cabinet meetings at a table full of stuffed animals.
It's not like Stein "photoshopped" herself in. Democracy Now had her (and also offered to Gary) on to answer the same questions/respond to the same answers as the actual press conference. This kind of thing is done every cycle, the Democrats and Republicans held out of primary press conferences have been doing it since 2004 too.

NextGen Climate, the group run by liberal billionaire and environmental activist Tom Steyer, is on the ground in eight battleground states with a message that is almost exclusively aimed at reaching the millennial voters who are energized by the issue of climate change.

Last week, the group threw six figures behind digital ads mocking Johnson as a climate change denier and warning millennials that climate change will cost them trillions of dollars.

A source at NextGen told The Hill the group will be looking to turn out young voters for Hillary Clinton and down-ballot Democrats with a texting campaign in the battleground states and a carpooling service that will drive them to the polls.

The Libertarians have also attracted the ire of a group called ShareBlue, which is owned by longtime Clinton ally David Brock. The unabashedly pro-Clinton, for-profit media company has a strong following in the realm of progressive social media and has been using its platform in part to hammer Johnson as a flaky Republican.
That message is being amplified on social media by liberal celebrities like Cher, George Takei and Seth McFarlane, as well as some of the nation’s most prominent liberal writers, who are seeking to shame young voters away from the Libertarian ticket or warn that it could lead to a Trump presidency.

“I’d like to make a plea to young Americans: your vote matters, so please take it seriously,” Paul Krugman wrote in a Libertarian takedown in The New York Times last week.

The principal “super PAC” supporting Mrs. Clinton’s candidacy, Priorities USA Action, has concluded from its polling and other research that the reluctance to embrace the Democratic nominee among those who intensely dislike Mr. Trump is not going away and must be confronted.

“We’ll be launching a multimillion-dollar digital campaign that talks about what’s at stake and how a vote for a third-party candidate is a vote for Donald Trump, who is against everything these voters stand for,” said Justin Barasky, a strategist for Priorities USA.
