I own a PS3 and PS4. I never paid for online or ever used any online features. Never bought any digital games.

I was thinking of getting a copy of Okami as I never played it before. Checking online it appears the PS3 version was digital only.

Really dumb but how do I buy it and can I only play it on my PS3 or could I also play it on my PS4?

Buying digital is a bit different than paying for online services.

Okami is PS3 only, so you would use it on that. Best thing to do without tying a card to PSN is getting a pre-paid PSN card.

You then would add it to your account on PSN and purchase. On PS3 you can download from the store.

I have two PSN accounts on my PS3, an american one and a brazilian one. On the american account I have a 20+ hours save file of Dark Souls and yesterday I just bought the Artorias of the Abyss DLC on the brazilian account since it was cheaper there.

My question is, will I be able to have acess to the DLC on the save file of my american profile or will I have to start a new game on the brazilian profile?

An odd request, that might not be possible at all:

I'm just about to finish off Forza Horizon 3, although I'll probably still play it on and off; as such, it's time to play something new. However, as it stands right now I've got a bit of a craving to play a WRPG.

However... there's only a month to go until Zelda, so I'm not really looking at something hugely in-depth. And I don't want a JRPG, because I'm playing Dragon Quest 7 on the commute to work.

So, does anyone out there have any suggestions for relatively short WRPGs? Something in the <20hr ballpark? Do they even exist? Wondering if there's anything in indie gaming (perhaps in the Spiderweb family?) that might fit the bill.

I'm aware I'm asking for a bit of an oxymoron here, brevity isn't usually a selling point for the genre! I just have a gap of a specific size to fill, and I'm curious if there's a game of that genre that'll do so.

Maybe Child of Light, bastion, transistor?

The original Deus Ex, Human Revolution, and all 3 STALKER games come in right around 20 hours, maybe a hair longer. System Shock 2 clocks in around 12-15 hours, though that's kind of stretching what most would consider a WRPG, but it does have RPG hooks like inventory and leveling up.

Already played CoL. I tried Bastion around when it was released, but didn't particularly warm to it - but since Transistor came out I've been toying with another attempt before I think about the next game.

Was originally thinking something of the more strategic style, but it doesn't have to be the case.

A good few ideas there, though.

FTL? I think that barely qualifies as an RPG, though there is some role-playing/decision making involved. Everything else in that 'strategic' vein I can think of would be well over the 20 hour mark, and even FTL took me 40 hours to beat the final boss, but at least it's rogue-lite nature means a single run only takes an hour or so.

I'm wondering - why is Smash Bros Melee still so revered? It seems like it's the fan / scene favourite.

I haven't played either of the newer ones but I'm wondering why they're not as loved.

Basically you have more control over your characters in that iteration, and there is a ton of tricks/movement tricks(that actually matters) to discover/learn, while the combo system also leaves room for you to express your own play style.

Later iterations (I prefer Brawl over smash 4, due to the "rage mechanic" and patches) is slower, have less movement options(and for example turning around while running has you to "get stuck" for a while before switching direction), and while Brawl had alot of cool tricks atleast.
Even that is taken away in smash 4 as soon as they get discovered and shared on social media through patches.

Anyone know a service for if i want to import a uk game console from uk to sweden, but they wont ship consoles to sweden?

I have my Xbox One controller plugged in to my PC using a micro USB cable, and it's having vibration issues. In 2 games now (Enter the Gungeon and Resident Evil 7) after playing a bit, something will trigger the vibration and then it doesn't stop until I pause the game and enter options, or sometimes not until I exit the game. It'll keep doing this unless I turn off vibration. Any fixes?

Edit 1: I'm using it without Steam edits. I'll go take a look at the driver, thanks.

Edit 2: My firmware is up to date according to the Xbox Accessories app, and I tried re-installing the driver, no dice.

Are you using Steam to edit your controls like you can the official Steam Controller (through Big Picture Mode)? I remember this happening with my SC occasionally when they first added rumble emulation to it. Not sure how you would fix that other than submitting a bug report to Valve and hoping they take care of it.

Failing that, it sounds like a driver bug. I would suggest uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers through the Windows hardware manager, or at least check to make sure you're using the most recent driver.

Was the Telltale Batman series ever fixed on PS4? The digital foundry video was awful with framerate dips all the way to the low 20's.

really want to play it.

The Technomancer is relativity short but Spiders games are an acquired taste to some.

I haven't played their recent stuff, but I did play the original release of Avernum (by which I mean Exile, as it was back then), and rather enjoyed it.

Edit: Oh, when you said "Spiders", I thought you mean "Spiderweb's" in a chatty way!

What happened to the EVO combo exhibitions.. I remember that they always broke street fighter 2 with some awesome never seen combos. I looked it up and the last one I could find was from 2010.

Hi folks. Hopefully this question is appropriate for this thread.

A relative was about to bin their Nintendo Wii so I offered to take it off their hands. It came with one Wiimote, a balance board and some fitness games/whatever they are. I've never owned a Nintendo console, so any tips on what to do next? Can I even buy games for this thing still? Amazon seems pretty thin on the ground.

Any recommendations welcome, cheers.

Has that been confirmed to make any significant difference in this particular case?

I think there were some impressions in the boost more thread here on GAF. In general it seems that any game that has an unlocked frame rate sees some form of benefits.

You may still find the evergreens in stores, especially the Nintendo Selects budget line. Get Mario Galaxies and Zelda Twilight Princess. Maybe Resident Evil 4. Wario Ware Smooth Mooves is a nice one when you're having guests.

Why does square hate archers so much?

More to the point, I don't think in any FF game has there been a prevalent archer character.

Sure, Rosa and fran exist, but they are mages first.

Like, where are the badass Rangers at?

Is Trey it?

Thanks bud, I'll check them out for sure. First time I'd have stepped into an actual GAME store in years and years!!

These games playable using just a Wiimote? I've heard of other controllers being available, worthy investment or...?

Wario (which is mostly single player btw, a more multiplayer oriented party game might be Wii Party or Raving Rabbids 2) uses mostly just the Wiimote, but the others need a Nunchuck. The console should have shipped with one of those.

That will suffice for 95% of the library.

Smash Brothers might warrant getting one or two game pads; if you have GameCube ports on your system, those controllers work well with it.
Otherwise there's the Classic Controller (Pro), but it needs a Wiimote to plug into.

If you're considering Zelda Skyward Sword, you're going to also need a Motion Plus extension, either as a dongle between Wiimote and Nunchuck, or within an updated Wiimote model.

Thinking of getting a Pro in the next few months, but i'm wondering how easy it is to transfer accounts over to it. I've got my main UK acount, but also a US, Hong Kong and Japanese accounts that i don't wanna lose.

How easy is it to transfer them all across?

Simple.

Just sign in with each account. Should only take a minute or two.

If you're making the Pro your primary console don't forget to deactivate from the old console first.

Even simpler if he's doing a full system transfer. Then it's just a matter of pressing Yes a few times and all that's taken care of.

The Mass Effect series games are about 11 hours if you skip every sidequest and roughly know where to go so for a first playthrough 20hrs should be doable.

Maybe Knights of the Old Republic on PC/Mobile thats also about the same length.

Most modern western action games have RPG elements so maybe one of those could be right up your alley

In a bit of an awkward limbo with those; played the first on PC ages ago, have the second, but would rather play on console since my PC struggled with the first - but also want to import my characters. Probably just holding off until I can upgrade my PC.

(There's also a question of importing my character from a Steam version to an Origin one for the later games, I'm assuming that's simple enough.)

Already played the first. The second is a tempter.

Not really after action-with-RPG-elements, though. I want an Ultima or a Baldur's Gate, something slow-paced but bitesize.

I do need to get around to Shadowrun Returns sometime, Dead Man's Switch might be a little too short, but it's probably a good rough fit for what I'm after.

My PS4 started showing NAT type 3 a couple of days ago, but my PS3 is type 2 and my Xbox One is Open. I've tried resetting my PS4, unplugging the ethernet cable and plugging it back in, forwarding the proper ports, set my PS4 to a static IP, and rebuilding the database in safe mode, nothing's worked so far. Any advice? I'll provide more information if needed.

Edit: I'm not in the OS beta. I have noticed a lot of disconnects happening when I tried to play online matches in MLB The Show 16.

Strange.

Have you noticed any problems with match making or chat?

Are you in the OS beta?

How to re-download GTA V on pc, purchased form Rockstar (not Steam)?

I can see it in my Rockstar profile, but can't find a link to download it...

EDIT: You have to click the settings tab > Game downloads. My accounts are messed up, both shows to have GTAV, only one actually works.

Asking for a friend, he has a Wii and is after some games for it specifically N64 games, is the Wii eShop still active and does it still have N64 virtual console games on it, in the UK region?

I have had a look about online and on the Nintendo UK store and it is only showing 3DS and WiiU, I was going to look but my Wii controller has disappeared and on my 3DS and WiiU the eShop only shows 3DS and WiiU games plus the virtual console, but nothing about the Wii.

The Wii Shop Channel is still online and, delisted games aside, everything is still there.

It is unknown how long this will last, but I suspect it will not go EoL until the Wii U stuff does.
